  • I always thought this ride captured the true American spirit. Free to innovate, explore and create. The creators of Epcot really had high expectations from this country.

  • it was about cars.... LAME ALERT!!!

  • @SouthCarolinaFan Test Track is about cars.... Lame alert???

  • when i went on this it was so boring,im so glad they made a thrill ride out of it!

  • OMG! How did I not find your channel sooner??? Great videos! Thank you so much for posting. Consider me subscribed, and now wasting a bunch of time watching all your stuff...

  • i remember this ride...and i went wen i was like 3 years old....holy crap

  • was that Was that TRON at 3:14 ?

  • @sideslide23 Yes! :)

  • OMG I haven't seen this since I was 5 years old its been 22 years you really restored my memory.

  • As much as I love Test Track, this venue was still really cool. My folks told me this was an attraction at the World's Fair (in the 60's, I believe) and they actually used REAL cars!

  • haaaa, look at those sweet rides.

  • They still have that coca-cola place. It's called Club Cool. It's on the right hand side before entering the world showcase.

  • @waytooawesome4you THEY DID!!! It was the Coca Col world and they used to serve FREE coke from all the over world, that was my favorite place in epcot

  • @caramelx0 Yeah the coca cola world is still there... was there for new years a few days ago.. Free drinks are awesome..

  • I miss this soooooo much, how peaceful & pleasant plus educational too!

  • ZzzzzzzzzzZzzZzzzz

  • do you find it suspicious that all these rides closed between 95'-01'

  • @nicklepa24 new decade, new disney

  • 3:02 Uh, why is Tron in this ride?

  • As much as I love Test Track, this ride was great. I wish they could have kept it some how.

  • Alot of those props were put into Pirates of the Carrabean, huh?

Like that dog...and those pigs...and quite a few of those people...

  • wow. it's so.... boring. good thing they replaced it with test track.

  • Test Trak is ok but I'm old school. I miss this one a lot. There was never a line because it was ALWAYS moving and it was a nice way to relax on a ride and get out of the heat and still enjoy your trip.

  • Alot of the props can be seen on the MGM Backlot tour..I have a ton of video from years ago zoomed in on alot of it. Pretty cool to see!

  • i prefer the white knuckle test track to this.

  • this where test track is isn't it???

  • I remember taking my uncle on this ride when my family went in 91. (in a thick Jersey accent) "Holy shit! I wanteda to thrrow pennies at those fuckese, they look so fuckin real."

By the end of the trip he was calling mickey mouse a "Fucking Rat" and wanted to dig a grave for him!

  • its really weird how disney came make things dissaer without a trace, almost like it never existed. its kind of freaky.

  • I was a small kid some years ago and went to Epcot. I cannot find anything about this and I'm not sure if it was a dream or not, but did Epcot used to have an igloo or something full of foreign drinks?

  • They did. However, the drinks were made from concentrate with added water and fizz and certainly as far as UK brands and flavours were concerned they tasted nothing like they should.

  • It's still there, but it's changed slightly. It's near the big fountain. Still free foreign soft drinks.

  • @waytooawesome4you

Yep they sure did. I think it might still be there, but I really can't remember

  • @waytooawesome4you They still have this, although it's not an igloo anymore. It's just a building they call "Club Cool" or something. But yes, it's still the same place where you can sample the sodas and all that.

  • @waytooawesome4you That is the Coca Cola cool zone where you can saples varieties of Coco Cola soft drinks from around the world. It is still there as far as I know...

  • @waytooawesome4you That is the Coca Cola cool zone where you can sample varieties of Coco Cola soft drinks from around the world. It is still there as far as I know...

  • @waytooawesome4you it is still there it is sponsored by coca cola the iglo bit outside has gone but the tasting room is still there I always pop in to try

  • @waytooawesome4you ice station cool by coca cola its still there but they got rid of the igloo theme

  • @waytooawesome4you It is still there I went there for spring break and they had it.

  • @waytooawesome4you You're thinking of "Ice Station Cool" now called "Club Cool". The entrance was fashioned like an igloo, and you'd pass through a tunnel filled with man made snow. In it's current form, "Club Cool", you can still taste the different types of sodas, but the igloo entrance and snow tunnel are unfortunately gone.

  • @waytooawesome4you thats still there but different. It's called Club Cool where you can taste different drinks from around the world.

  • man, i don't remember this one at all.....i guess i didn't go on it much as a kid.

  • What EPCOT needs to bring back is the wonder's of life pavillion. I mean they still have it, but it's only open for one or two festivals. Come on Disney, what are you thinking?

  • Let the closing of this ride remind you of the beginning of the end of GM.

  • I think this is the ride I miss the least, mostly due to the amazing that is TestTrack, great ride. But this was a wonderful ride, man, most of these take me back to when I was 6 and first seeing these things for the first time.

  • i like test track to, but i still miss this ride

  • In 1993, we took a trip to Epcot Center, and my brother took a picture of this. One of my favorite scenes in this ride was the dark rocketship that was accompanied with music, then we were in a computer void.

  • I always loved the beginning of this ride - where it took you outside and up around what is now the space where the Test Track queue is. Unfortunately that made it one of the few dark rides that had to occasionally close if it was storming. No different than Test Track today though.

  • It needed to close of not GM would have went bankrupt earlier

  • This ride was cute

  • As one of my first memories, I really miss this ride. But test track is a great replacement!

  • not that test track isn't awesome but i do miss this ride

  • epcot needed more trill rides so they turned it into test track. I like test track, but it's sad to see a classic attraction go.

  • i hav a recording of wen my sis went on this in 94, i always wanted 2 c it cuz i looked kool but it was closed wen i went in 97 :(

  • i got to get really close to the animatronic horse that stands in the back of the truck in the traffic scene, you can see him at 2:04.

  • I look at Disney rides the same way that I look at Broadway productions. They might be around for years, and they might be brilliant, but one day they will be replaced. Remember, Epcot's Future World was supposed to evolve over time.

Horizons, for example, was possibly my favorite Disney ride. But I can think of several reasons why it needed to be taken down in 1999. I was even thinking it the last time I rode it.

  • There is just something magical about Disney old dark rides. People go to Disney for the magic and wonderment. If you want a roller coaster with concrete and beams and no imagination then go to Six Flags or Universal Studios. To tell you the truth, Epcot was so much better when they had Horizons and World of Motion. Disney's dark rides takes you on a magical journey into your imagination - that's what it's all about. The true Disney fans get it.

  • AGREED.

  • Don't forget Walt wanted rides for the whole family to enjoy together. That's why he built Disneyland. Horizons and World of Motion were perfect for Epcot. If you want to add Test Track, fine but don't remove the classic rides like this. The perfect Disney ride is like Everest - half dark ride and half thrill ride. That pleases everyone. World of Motion should have stayed - Epcot is not the same without it.

  • or Splash mountain.

  • Test track is a big let down. No imagination. I can do without Mission Space. Remember, Walt wanted rides for the whole family to ride. You can't with Test track and Mission Space. Horizons and World of Motion was the charm and magic of Epcot. True Disney magic.

  • Problem being, different families have different opinions on what's fun. Not every family WANTS to ride the slow moving rides. Some families enjoy the fast pace thrills and with competition like Universal appealing to that audience, Disney needs to take that approach as well.

  • Plus, if you're going to put down thrill rides at Disney, you might as well put down rides like the Teacups and Matterhorn which were ALSO created by Walt.

  • I've seen both good & bad reviews about Test Track, but one thing it definitely ain't is "cheap." The track was the first of its kind when it opened, making it expensive & oft-delayed - kinks were still being worked out. It's also far from "average." I defy you to name another ride that's like it. It's not modeled on anything that came before it, attraction-wise. It might be boring or uninspiring to you - and you're obviously not alone in your views - but it's definitely unique.

  • I'm with you, sdcqbaz4! I miss the Bird & the Robot show, too, in that post-show area!

  • r u serious? i love test track... its so cool

  • I must say, after seeing most of these, they are quite enjoyable and bring back lots of memories

  • I dunno... ...seems a lot better than what replaced it. The test track is borin, and not worth the wait at all. Atleast you had something to look at... ...but with the new ride, "oh boy, we're testing driving conditions" hot, cold, wind, gravel... ...booooring. Only fun about the new ride is the speed test outside. Atleast the world of motion was educational.

  • I liked "World of Motion" for very different reasons, but I don't like "Test Track" any less. As to what you can SEE on the ride, you can see plenty, actually, but it's a matter of taste whether or not you find the visuals interesting. Compared to your average Six Flags ride, "Test Track" is downright LOADED with stuff to see! Besides, Epcot already had so many other rides that were similar to what "World of Motion" was offering. They needed to change things up.

  • I agree completely.

Besides, I learned as much about cars from Test Track as I did about the history of transportation from World of Motion.

They're both clever rides in their way.

  • Test Track is techiclly educational too. Giving you a heads on experience on what it takes to test a car

  • I wish disney would build a park or at least an area in a park where the theme is old disney rides, where the disney's history and it outdated rides can still be enjoyed. Yeah some of the old epcot ride where outdated but it moved beyond that, if some of these rides could be seen for another 100 years just the level of how bizarre they are in themselves would be an attraction, people would enjoy them.

  • That would be a sweet new park idea for WDW where all the old rides could go :-D. Though i know it will never happen (Money issues) we can all still dream

  • yeah, I can see why they took this out

  • All I remember from this ride are the guy in the mud with the pigs, and the chickens. I probably remember the chickens because they're in Goofy's Barnstormer now.

  • oh my god look at that 55 chevy wagon......i want it badly.

  • This ride was cute, but nothing great. Removing this one was not that great a loss.

  • If I went on this, I was only a few months old...

  • i can clearly remember this ride even though i went on it when i was three or four

  • I don't think I remember this one. Seems kind of boring

  • I love these Vanished World of Disney videos. It's a walk down memory lane.
