"Looks exactly the same"!? Not quite. 84-86 Fieros have grooved rub strips and black bumper pads, 87-88's have smooth ones and body color bumpers. Also, 84-86's have the "Pontiac" name molded into the rear bumper, 87-88's have a "Pontiac" nameplate stuck on.
And '84 was the only year for the black magnesium grille over the engine compartment; all other years have the grilles on either side of the rear deck lid.
I had a silver 85 2M4....I miss it.
