Background music is absolutely perfect! It gives certain depth for this nice video. Atmosphere is totally correct considering time and location where this video was shot. There are no words for describing that feeling, it gives a strange nostalgic (Soviet era) touch... What im trying to say - this music is far away from being a porn music
These Mi-6's were retired at Kalinov? I've seen them many times on Oranienburg, impressive big helicopters.... Music is cool BTW, it was 19 years ago.
Very well picked scenes, good changes between ambient music and the impressive acoustic scenario given by the mighty slicks - and lookie : those types ( !) = I liked that vid really well !
it does actually 8) the mi-26 is bigger! and the mi-12 or v-12 is the biggest of all, but beceause that one was only experimental and never went in production the mi-26 is the biggest production helicopter
Thanks for the video. We used to live nearby Oranienburg, and I still remember the red blinking lights of those monster helicopters flying obviously some kind of manoeuvres late at night.. The sound of a group of Mi-6s, even some kilometres away, is pretty impressive.
The Peruvian Air Force .. had 6 of these BEAUTIFUL HELICOPTERS.... The MI-6 ,,, WHAT A GREAT MACHINE...
I remember whe i was a child... and i always went to the AFB Las Palmas in Lima ( i live near ) .... it was always an amazing view... TOO BIG ... TO WINDY... TO BEAUTIFUL... The last flight of Peruvian MI-6 was around 1992 ..... it was a PAIN .
Mi-6 was way ahead of anything NATO had. It was amazing that the russians managed to make something so powerfull and sophisticated for its time yet so trouble free, Its one of the most reliable helicopters ever built
Absolutely amazing video and loving the music too boss, what song/artist is this? I would greatly appreciate a response. Am reading about the copter on wiki while listening to the porn music...life is good hehe
@hamzahameedullah The artist is latvian Raimonds Pauls, I guess the sales of all records in whose creation he has participated are among the most sold, especially in the post-soviet territories, could be like 200-350 million units... :D
You can find this song under "long way in the dunes"
@hamzahameedullah The music is composed by latvian composer Raimond Pauls, and the piece is called "Long way through the dunes" ( Раймонд Паулс - Долгая дорога в дюнах).
There's another version played on a piano and harmonica, instead of the sax, that won't give you the impression of a "porn music". put that { Арнтгольц-Ставиский - Долгая дорога в дюнах } in the search blank on youtube.
Polish Armed forces in 1991 had only two of these... I was lucky (and happy) to make some parachute jumps in Oleśnica, just before they were scrapped.
Night jumping was fun - with navigational lights on the end of each blade they looked like flying casinos :)
Polish army had three Mi-6 .(063 ,670 and 671)Maybe it was in 1990 ?All polishes Mi-6 was grounded in 1990. Maybe You have same photos of these great helicopter?
very nice Video thats shows me the people behind this huge flying monsters at my hometown Oranienburg. I was fantastic to show these choppers, and what an sound. Very impressive for an Child. As you leave,i was 13 years old.
Novadays it's impossible to see similiar machines in Legnica airport. Airport objects, like lot of old objects Northern Group of Forces were rebuilt and now there are big shops, magazines etc. It's a pity...
Есть взлетно-посадочная полоса взлетная обязательного без больших объемов грузов? Высокий видео, спасибо за обмен! :D

As per Wikipedia, only 5 remain in VVS (Russia AF) service. With payload up to 12,000 kg (26,400 lb) of internal cargo, the Mi-26 is far greater.
