I think both companies have superb products and OS, even though my only complaint is the pricing with Mac stuff, but I can understand. They don't sell many Macs then PC, so they try to make as much as they can. I'm in IT and in my 16+ years that I've fixed computers, it's usually the person that messes it up with loading in stuff they're not supposed to or they download stuff with viruses. I did like the Mac OS better before W7 came out. XP was good too.
If you have a PC running Windows 7, I don't recommend using XP Mode that they offer. That just sucks and it's not the same as running software from a XP Pro computer directly.
no its called "dual-booting" just hold down the one key(im not a mac user so just have your crappy online support help u =) then choose which one to boot from. it's not that complicated. it WILL HAVE 2 GB of ram, u *****. and no it will not slow the mac down at all.

They should add the total experience together INSTEAD of using the experience index's lowest value. I mean, lets say you have a shitty graphics card, it gets 1 in Experience index. And no matter if the harddrive is 6 points the ram is 9 points and so on you will still get 1 in experience index due to the graphics card...

I own a Mac (MacBook Pro [2.33 GHz, 2 GB's RAM, 120 GB's HDD]) and a PC (Custom [3.0 GHz, 512 MB's RAM (sucky, I know), 80GB's HDD]). While I was trying to do bootcamp, OS X crashed while partioning the HDD, making a sort of phantom-partition, saying I used 30 GB's, forcing me to copy my files to an external drive and erasing my hdd and reinstalling leopard and all copying all my files from an external HDD. VMWare, here we come! dont cheap out on bootcamp.
You can upgrade a Mac, memory and hard drives can be upgraded on all of them. And then the Mac Pro you can upgrade memory, video cards, hard drives, cpus

I use VM Fusion and I like the concept because I can do minor work for my webpage without going to my Dell. But, I find it way to slow to use on a regular basis and for much more than simple tasks.
errrr this pltform looks slow if anything you would want to run vista independtly as you can with bootcamp stops the lag if you are o a top spec mac it's ok but i reccomend bootcamp to be honest and any top spec mac could play average pc games like half life 2 series or WoW top graphics setting trust me :D

thats not true. The Dell XPS or one of the Alienware laptop will burn a Macbook. THe specs are higher on those even a bigger screen. And I can get a Dell Quad core pc right now starting at $999...almost 1/2 teh price of a Mac.
Yes I know one. Parallels and VMware both only allow up to Direct X 9 games playable on Windows. So basically, if you like Windows games and own a Mac, I would suggest just using Boot Camp or just buy consoles.

Also try doing the awesome cube rotating effect that you can do on a mac with VirtueDesktops or other programs that take advantage of that transition, on windows
i have both... and vmware is faster. parallel is more polished in terms of look and feel (like the stuff that u see before u load into an os) but once u get into using the 2nd OS, vmware uses alot less resource and is faster

Though I'm primarily a FreeBSD user, I haven't a problem with Windows stability since Windows98 SE. It's users are unstable - not the OS. If you're speaking of Vista, you're an idiot for being an "early adopter" of the OS.

You're half right. Macs nowadays are not just for artists, graphics, music.... It's much better now, for both my grandpa and designers. And yep, "mac isnt better than pc...nor is pc really better than mac".

the new mac is an elegant machine. i wouldnt mind having one. But why pay $1700 for it. Apple hardly has any softs. they are all on pc. and i dont need a mac to pretend it is a pc using virtualization. I can just have teh real thing. And VPC is a real pc written in software. it has teh same vulnerabilities and a real pc. accept teh virus would be trapped in teh bottle.

some guy tried to tell me pc's are made of inferior parts. And 2 weeks after that Steve annouced that Aplle was going x86...what Mac is becoming PC alreday has been. We have always had teh best CPU and best all teh widest variety. Thats why pc took off in teh first place. it offered more for way less.

I use VM Fusion and I like the concept because I can do minor work for my webpage without going to my Dell. But, I find it way to slow to use on a regular basis and for much more than simple tasks.

errrr this pltform looks slow if anything you would want to run vista independtly as you can with bootcamp stops the lag if you are o a top spec mac it's ok but i reccomend bootcamp to be honest and any top spec mac could play average pc games like half life 2 series or WoW top graphics setting trust me :D

but why should i go out and buya $5000 mac to act like a pc when for about $500 i can just have a pc that already runs Windows. I use VMware too and I have a hacked copy of Mac OSX and its slow too. Virtual PC's re slow unless you have a supped up rig. but i can get a supped up pc for 999 aka Dell XPS

I aint advising you to go and buy a £3000 mac i have a awesome pc i built myself and a mbp i have boot camped my mbp and can play games like crysis and stuf medium-high but it won't ever beat my windows in power as mac graphics cards suck balls and i am more of a harcore gamer :P. But right now there aint really a good way to put osx on windows so i use both.

thats not true. The Dell XPS or one of the Alienware laptop will burn a Macbook. THe specs are higher on those even a bigger screen. And I can get a Dell Quad core pc right now starting at $999...almost 1/2 teh price of a Mac.

Yes I know one. Parallels and VMware both only allow up to Direct X 9 games playable on Windows. So basically, if you like Windows games and own a Mac, I would suggest just using Boot Camp or just buy consoles.

I wouldn't waste my time with a multi-boot system. Just buy another box, it's better than dealing with cross platform issues...

Parallels can run Vista faster than VMware can because its optimized for speed. Vists installs and boots via BootCamp on a Mac faster than a PC.

Mac OS X RULES!!!!!!!! I am running it right now. I had XP running on my mac for a while but it was the worst experience EVER!!!! Seems like you wait FOREVER for a contextual menu to appear. On my iMac Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz 1GB of Ram it is instant.
Also try doing the awesome cube rotating effect that you can do on a mac with VirtueDesktops or other programs that take advantage of that transition, on windows

i have both... and vmware is faster. parallel is more polished in terms of look and feel (like the stuff that u see before u load into an os) but once u get into using the 2nd OS, vmware uses alot less resource and is faster
