@chukaz1 - The U.S. and the Soviet Union didn't start WWII. It was Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Germany that did that. Coming to the aid of allies, (like South Korea and South Vietnam), or going to war against terrorists that want to destabilize and overthrow every free country in the world is a far cray from, "invading the world". @chukaz1 - What history books you read is up to you. It all depends on your area of interest. I don't know what area of history you are particularly interested in, so it's rather difficult to make any specific recommendation. However, if you are interested in WWII history, for starters, I can highly recommend this book -> "Panzer Battles" - by Major General F.W. von Melenthin, Chief of Staff, 4th German Panzer Army. von Melenthin served under Field Marshall Rommel himself.

@jmweed1861 Monty planned virtually all the most succesful battles of WW2 (including D-Day) whilst Patton was a butcher of his own men (and Bradley a ditherer), Montys only real failing was vanity (something that Patton also excelled at). And Great Britain also fought and won on 2 fronts in WW2 (3 if you include North Africa) and in WW1, in europe and the middle east, also there are numerous similar examples from the 18th and 19th centuries!

Indeed, if it weren't for Gen.Patton's leadership, ability and caring for his soldiers lives, he wouldn't have been able to totally change the direction his army was fighting in and drove them over 100 miles in the dead of winter on ice slicked roads and saved the entire 101st airborne division in Bastogne, from destruction. Other generals said this was impossible..

He rightfully believed that defeating the enemy as quickly as possible would ultimately save the most soldiers lives. @krrwasser - The men of the 101st Airborne in Bastogne would have been wiped out if it weren't for Patton. They were critically low on supplies and virtually without ammo. On that last day, it was down to hand-to-hand combat. If Patton hadn't of broken through, the Germans would have overwhelmed them.

Bastogne was being held by the 101st and the men of the 101st stated they didn't need Patton to save them and they have always maintained that. The 101st took the town of Foy when 1st Lieutenant Ronald Speirs single handed linked up with another unit on the other side of town and came back running through German reinforcements. The Germans had failedi in their initial push.

Coming to the aid of allies, (like South Korea and South Vietnam), or going to war against terrorists that want to destabilize and overthrow every free country in the world is a far cray from, "invading the world". Read some books on this subject and you'll learn.

First of all, the American Indian's weren't native to America, as they came to the American continent via a land bridge from Asia that has long since sunk beneath the waves. I don't know what area of history you are particularly interested in, so it's rather difficult to make any specific recommendation. However, if you are interested in WWII history, for starters, I can highly recommend this book -> "Panzer Battles" - by Major General F.W. von Melenthin, Chief of Staff, 4th German Panzer Army. von Melenthin served under Field Marshall Rommel himself.

@jmweed1861 Monty planned virtually all the most succesful battles of WW2 (including D-Day) whilst Patton was a butcher of his own men (and Bradley a ditherer), Montys only real failing was vanity (something that Patton also excelled at). And Great Britain also fought and won on 2 fronts in WW2 (3 if you include North Africa) and in WW1, in europe and the middle east, also there are numerous similar examples from the 18th and 19th centuries!

Indeed, if it weren't for Gen.Patton's leadership, ability and caring for his soldiers lives, he wouldn't have been able to totally change the direction his army was fighting in and drove them over 100 miles in the dead of winter on ice slicked roads and saved the entire 101st airborne division in Bastogne, from destruction. Other generals said this was impossible..

He rightfully believed that defeating the enemy as quickly as possible would ultimately save the most soldiers lives. Montgomery on the hand was well known for agonizingly slow, methodical and plodding tactics that in the end was responsible for more soldiers dying, than Gen.Patton with his quick-witted, driving style that defeated the Germans quickly.

Also do you know what Monty was doing whilst Patton was turning his Army around? And why did they call him 'old blood & guts' if he was so loved by his men?

On that last day, it was down to hand-to-hand combat. If Patton hadn't of broken through, the Germans would have overwhelmed them.

Bastogne was being held by the 101st and the men of the 101st stated they didn't need Patton to save them and they have always maintained that. The 101st took the town of Foy when 1st Lieutenant Ronald Speirs single handed linked up with another unit on the other side of town and came back running through German reinforcements. The Germans had failedi in their initial push.

World War Two proved to the War Merchants, that Americans will believe any lie and sign up to go to war and die for it. Neo-Cons organized ideas to prepare for war in 1990's. They stole the 2000 election rather easily, planned 911, and presto they had the green light for umlimited spending on war. American war merchants conned Americans into letting them borrow $5 trillion to buy weapons and spend it on wars with an enemy nobody could identify since it does not exist.

From 1933 to 1939, a Catholic priest, Fr Charles Coughlin, warned Americans the war merchants and bankers were planning a massive world war. He had informants who told him of the massive loan deals worked out in private for weapons and other arms. His newspaper' Social Justice" can be found on ebay. The articles are pure prophecy. @mjoelnir58 - Nazi Germany had a huge military build up that went on for many years and they prepared for war for just as long. This gave them a substantial lead at the beginning of the war they started, WWII. As soon as the industrial might of America had kicked into gear, it was all over for Nazi Germany. They could have never won that stupid, stupid war as they didn't have the industrial capacity to sustain and win WWII. Hitler was a maniac!

You English ignorantly forget that "The Allies" were men from all over the the world. To name a few; America, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, India, Poland, China, Belgium, Brazil. It was actually a Kiwi that lead the Air Defence of London. Britain would of fallen if it were not for the ALLIES and the American supplies shipped across the Atlantic. The most incredible thing is how many countries had to come together to defeat just one.
