  • Steve Hillage does a righteous version of 'Tommorow Never Knows' by the Beatles. Actually, research how many people cover that song...some renditions are great. I suggest also Brian Enos'.

  • My favorite Gong line, which has always stuck with me, is "You don't have to give up Hope, and you don't have to give up Dope, and you don't have to change your ways...you just have to be what you are , my friend, today...that's what The Octave Doctor say,say,saisss..." Remember Zero the Hero. PS- Have you met Bob Dobbs..?

  • jimson weed or psylocybin YOU SMOKE can be your ally. You spy on your enemies by rubbing jimson weed paste on your temples, sewing a lizard's lips shut, sending it out, waiting til it comes back, and then cutting a hole in your temple and sticking the lizard into contact with your brain. then you know. or you can eat it.

  • @birdhaldol What? Do all that and forget the carrot? You're not serious?!!?

  • @alifor9 ok. now i don't know again. i do know the charley manson orange saucer acid has the right amount of STRYCHNINE in it. Speedy...So we can run and see colors. and murder...you for instance.

  • @birdhaldol

Its true then. Turn over any stone and find you. Swimming around with the tiny little prawns.

  • @alifor9 Actually I am under most bridges. I am a troll. I am intellectually elite.

  • @birdhaldol

My sympathies. Only on Tuesdays do I recall the strange and perplexing memories of waddling about under bridges, coming out only to grab stuff from those who wish to pass. Usually, as indeed is the case today, it takes me a full two nights to overcome the extensive feeling of shaved pelicans that pervade my daylight gazing. But, to the point. The burden of being the only one who is in reality intellectually elite has been lifted from my shoulders. A turnip for your thought.

  • @alifor9 i drink evil alcohool behind a dipsty dumpster near food lion. as a result, when you go driving drunk on the information superhighway maudlin like this...i go onto Oneida Nation territory armed w/a sawed off and dowsing rod looking for PCB's on ancient burial grounds for CIA ($10). Double pay at texasholdem poker vs squaws not knowing any pledge of allegience who want to settle by sleeping with me while "free-bird" is playing. earned rock to smoke. And a turnip. Are you James Joyce?

  • Hey!

    Where's the Ending?!

  • @SuperCartiel Sorry I had to cut it off to fit it on youtube.

  • @LSDCoatedBrain OK. But now You Tube has a 15-minute limit for basics like us.

You can do the whole thing now.

Will you go to my channel, and check out my vids? I'd appreciate it.

  • @LSDCoatedBrain

U should make it part 1 and part 2

    just in case

  • @LSDCoatedBrain I think you can upload videos up to 15 minutes in length now... can you upload the entire version please...? :)

  • @SuperCartiel nowhere, That\s the meaning

  • @jajus125100 ?? O.O?

    That's rather...zen...

But every flight should have a landing, right? You can't just stay up there.

  • @SuperCartiel there is no ending..!

  • av a cup of teeeaaa!!!

  • @cristoj73 a bit o' cake? yum, yum!

  • if milk is good enough for Krsna, it's good enough for me...

  • Nice marriage of sound n' vid'. This is some shit! The real thing! I mean this sound has the whole "floods of space n' trippyness, buzz continuim thingy-ma jig", nailed on the nuts' sacko' whacko yeah! Cerebral woodiewind...suddenly a Big fan.

  • It is too easy to underestimate the quality of video and music and the combining of both here. There's a hell of a lot going on in both. Hep. No I never glid before!

  • Aldous Huxley. The Man. Many thanks once again

  • Love them. Thanks for that mid 80's Flashback. Thoroughly enjoyed your playlist.

  • Yeah this is real superb stuff. Prob the best mushroom music ever made....

  • Its only bands like GONG and EARTH CULTURE that really have something to say!!!

  • No way! When there was like romans and shizit? That means your over a thousand years old. You must be like some guru. Am I right? Are you a guru.....wow, where did that come from.

  • @LSDCoatedBrain

    that was epic

  • @LSDCoatedBrain : saw them live in ...1978 :D

  • Comment removed

  • @LSDCoatedBrain hey, i was wonderin if i could download this song from u somhow? really enjoyed it cheers,

  • @perthheat111 I would recommend downloading utorrent, going on pirate bay, and searching for a gong discography torrent. You can get nearly all their shit in probably under 2 hours. Of coures some may conciser this stealing, however, think about it this way... you aren't gaining anything financially and and 9 times out of 10 if someone is downloading $500 worth of music, they probably would have bought it in any case.

  • @LSDCoatedBrain alright, cheers for that

  • @LSDCoatedBrain That actually makes great sense. And I do it myself.

I live in a place where getting this music at a store is impossible. So, yeah, I get it through the Net.

  • @AllyT66 You know what the say, if you remember 198, you weren't really there.

  • @Trimbler00 sorry , what is 198?????

Hope You can tell me ...... Thank You

  • @jajus125100 AllyT66 said he saw them in year "198?" as in sometime in the 80's, but the running joke is that he saw them in year 198. Cheers

  • @AllyT66 youre not ,,,therefore you dont know

  • saw them live, still brilliant

  • Masala chai <3

  • Milk and no sugar please! And the tea brewed in a real teapot!!!!

  • tea time milk and one sugar please

  • You Europeans and your mixing milk in tea.

  • Indians also.

  • @shishyupal Oh yeah, but they also put a bunch of spices in it (at least the stuff I've had) its really good.

  • Indeed LSDCoat. :) We call it "masala tchai".

  • @LSDCoatedBrain

Better that than mixing bacon and chocolate :-)

  • VIVE GONG ☼

  • OH FUCK talk about memories trippin on mushrooms.....AWESOME. im 41 now and i listend to these when i was in my 20's........also great live

  • gong est mort

  • You mean "Gong est Mort, Vive Gong"? That was a concert in 1977. Otherwise the band is remarkably lively for a 60's-70's band! (Latest studio record released september 2009!)

  • yeah vive gong est mort to be precise

which in english means gong life and death

its by far the best album they have produced

although its very hard to be precise with gong as they are so varied those who have this album are privellaged gong fans

and its one of the best training sessions for buddism phase 1

to become a fully pledged shaman in budism one has to delve out of the system we are born into and break the program of learned culture ie educative wordage ,

  • have a cuppa green tea

  • have a cup of tea lovely cup of tea not the same as if it was have a strongbow lovely strongbow

  • good job with the edit

  • I was looking for the Russel's Teapot, but I ended up listening to this amazing song! Thanks for posting. :)

  • hypnoticly amazing, gong forever!

  • Reminds me so much of The Soft Machine! this is great stuff, haha and their still rocking decades after they came about. awesome!

  • @Putrefraction thats because David Allen was also the founder of Soft Machine !!

He had to leave the band !!!

  • Pink Floyd+ Frank Zappa= Gong ¡¡great combination, great band!!

  • yea that's why you cutted of the crazy part

    you freaking moron

  • Why doesn't this band get any recognition?

    It's crazy, they're amazing!

  • they are still massive they pulled a huge audience at the glastonbury festival

  • Still in my top 5 tunes of all time. Please don't ask me to name the other four. willy wankered

  • I vote you don't need to know anything about LSD to fully groove to this musical gem, or, get the full message if there be one at all.Kinds the point I reckon(in as much as one can)

  • I've experienced both and I still groove just as hard with it without doses

  • My tickets arrived today!!!

going to see them and Steve Hillage on November 29th in Brighton...great little 300 capacity venue too. should be great. :-)

    Cheers for the video!

  • If you meet them, could you ask them to come to the US? On the East Coast? Ha, would be great.

  • Saw them last night at sheffield . So Good. Enjoy

  • panik! please mister conductor could you let me off this trip

  • I think the best is Expresso II

  • 2032! get 2032!

  • going to their show next week! gonna be SWEEEEET!

  • I'm new to this band. With what album should i start my collection?

  • Well if you want to start with one, I would recommend one called "absolutely the best of gong". Its made up mostly of the best songs, from their 3 most popular albums. It has a few songs from earlier as well.

  • As ever thanks very much for this on You Tube your inclusions always bring a big pixie like smile to my face.Nice to see Dr Tim Leary included in this, just think he's floating through the cosmos as I speak, cheers x

  • try the new one 2032 very good then try radio gnome

  • Thanks, i guess i'm going to get 2032 since it was also recommended by other people.

  • Get the whole Flying teapot trilogy...

  • I would recommend the album this is from.

Look for either Angels Egg, Flying teapot or 'You'.

There are loads of albums but those are the most accessible if you are new to the band ;)

  • I recommend Camembert Electrique.

  • @ClassicRockSovereign Great album this is true.

  • @ClassicRockSovereign brie is nice too

  • @ClassicRockSovereign I recommend Gong :)

  • crikes i feel like my brain has been raped, that was quite something

  • Fantastic!!! Gong the best!!!!!

  • Do you really have an LSDcoatedBrain? If so may I lick it before I listen to this track again. Thankyou. x

  • lol, it is indeed, it also has a nice coating of bud

  • can i have a lick too please? :-)

  • Huge Gong Fan, Camembert Electrique was my favourite album, tripped my ass off to it.......

  • wow i live next door to the lead singer

    she is pretty cool lady

  • Is she doing alright? :D

Tell her "Thanks for the Musick/Magick" from me! ;)

  • wicked

  • Thank you.

  • Eur velcohm

  • I love this band!. Gong and Earth Culture are the best bands around

  • So, errr, how am I to operate my brain ?

  • I never really got that either. I think the point of the video was supposed to subconsciously do something, all I know is its fun to watch. I guess as far as computer amimation goes it was good for its time. I think if leary were still alive and have that video made today it would look allot better.

  • see also: Terry Riley

  • I agree with bariejj it depends what your looking for but talk abiout drift into a different world amazing band

  • I've loved Gong since the 80s. It is my "heart beat" music, if that makes any sense.

  • sorry, gong's not dead, fortunately

  • think its a thing to just close your eyes and drift away with it =)

  • saw them on Dour 2009, thinkj

  • Saw Gong live in the mid/late seventies three times, did I take to many drugs or should not taken any? Great musicians but never got what they were about! Please explain

  • dont have 2 mean anything methinks...just good head music...

  • @ eyewoodsay same here ... it affected me .. i think , there fore ...

  • i use to have horrible hair..like worzel gummidge,,,bit scruffy....hang out with a motley crew of like minded space cadets...sat in some guys room..trippin off mushrooms picked off rainy pennine moorland....gong record scratchingly revolving...like my head..out onto orange lit coucil estate...seeing many strange things...like inflatable dolls driving cars and dogs with two heads...back to the room and drift of in a flying teapot on the sterooo.........and than a crap comedown...

  • with you there mate. see it as it is now, quite cool music

  • Comment removed

  • Hey eyewoodsay,

    bben there...done that...got the tea-shirt ;-)

  • hope to meet u on sunday concert highlander eheheh. Have a nice day

  • gong's dead, sorry

  • It's not true. I'll go to see them in concert on sunday in Rome. Their website talked about a tour for this year...

  • U dick...

  • Will Gong someday come to Spain?

I'm a teenager from Barcelona and I would love to see them but I didn't. I know Daevid has been in Ibiza but nowadays here in Spain there's nothing on radio or tv or news about Gong and his trajectory.

Have a nice cup of tea Zero the Hero hehe.

    thnx.

  • Theres a possibility. He often tours mostly in Europe. If he comes to the US he only goes to a few cities, and their never close to me. There should be a place on the gong website. Just type planetgong in the url. I think there should be a section called gigs, which has all the upcoming shows.

  • MAN!!!

    thanksyouSO-O-O-Omuch, Brain (narf!)

I went to paris in '76 and thought I was seeing this band, when I saw the poster for Stade J-P Ducat. It was Shamal, but - hey - it was Gong. I still have this on vinyl and you have done a great job here.

    Merci, mai!!

  • Ah mushroom tea!

  • loved the experience, mix of music + vid spot on. Just one little gripe, not one teapot ! just off to make a pot. byeee.
