Most people are so alien or just... Not 'proper' to rap, in the way they speak etc. that it's just embarrassing to be around lmao. It feels like your grandparents trying to be "down with the kids".

But, the original term of freestyle never meant off the top. Freestyle just meant aimless lyrics that could go anywhere. Off the top was a separate thing. 90% of the time rappers aren't "pretending", it's OBVIOUSLY written.
