Awww. "Princey our dog we loved him." That's sad. You know that a dog in a picture so old has been long gone, but the handwritten sentiment is heartbreaking.
I think this was well done and a beautiful piece of this fine lady's history. Thank you for sharing it and may they all rest in peace. They are all together at last in God's kingdom.
@luverdude that's not important. Whats important is that they were people and they loved one another and they loved their pets. Does it really make a difference. By keeping these pictures this woman reached out and shared her family history with all of us. I think it's a beautiful thing.
@marhar19666 She was probably reminiscing I would think. I can almost picture her thumbing through the memories and with a sigh, she writes those words.
I am wondering if anyone may know the breed of dog that is at 1:01. It is a beautiful dog. Very similar to my American eskimo, later version of the German spitz.
oh so beautiful photos, and the dog he was trully loved by the little girl you can see on her expression and on the dogs eye too. what a lovely book ,thank you for sharing it with us
It's actually the Susquehanna and Chenango rivers (you may remember that people from Binghamton are sticklers for details). Although you are correct about the "Bingumton" accent.
Thanks for posting this, I grew up in Binghamton and spent many hours digging around in the many antique shops and flea markets.
This is a surprise to hear from a relative of Florence Moyer. Ask your family if they know anything about how she died. PS: I love your voice, if that is you singing on your youtube page. Thanks for writing.
@Dailgneachd So glad to have seen some of your family history, Dailgneachd. They looked to be a happy family. ;) So glad to have seen these wonderful people and Princy.
I grew up around Binghamton, NY. Such a beautiful part of New York. There is a certain stretch of road in the city which is lined with Victorian era houses. I hope to go back there soon. It's where the Susquehanna and Allegheny rivers converge. The correct phonetic pronunciation is Bingumton. Ronald Reagen vistited the area and couldn't pronounce it correctly. What a wonderful place to grow up. Miss it everyday.
[Under "Princey our dog we loved him" at 1:33 it says,] "he is buried in the old Barton farm orchard at Willow Point he was killed in front of the house"
Princy... poor princy... :'(

@Lockbar Oh you know that old saying, "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." But I am sad for Princy.

Anyone who understands how deterance works will know that that saying is nonsence.
I85PIES 4 months ago
@LaurelieLee That saying is retarded. An eye for an eye works. Especially in cases like Princy

How sad and lonely she must have felt, going through the old album and realizing how many of her loved one, including the family dog, were dead.
