  • silly Question, but are using an airline-that goes in the bottle with the power head???, Im asuming thats how your getting the bubbles- or is that just the power head creating the bubbles

  • @81mrmusicman No that is a good question, I am curious too..

  • ;0 ,,,,i make 4 holes around the net, and 10+holes around the end net there.

  • Hi, I have tried it with 500ml bottle, but there no bubble come out.......

can u show me what's going on?

  • @teluxks Did you poke holes on the sides of the bottle?

  • @suanzytan You're using an airline, he isn't. Jebus.

  • Love k1 media. This design makes poor use of the k1. Your not supposed to blast the shit out of it with a power head but rather it needs to gently tumble

  • this is good for discus fish and all other fish to reduce the ammonia .. NICE JOB

  • Can I use ceramic rings instead of k1? Cant find that anywhere in my country!! So must use either ceramic or activated carbon! And both are available in bags! Will ceramic flow like k1 due to air?

  • do you use the standard piping that comes with the air pump for the air in this filter?

  • You could get some PVC and then put the bottle upright. Make a ninety on the power head and get a long PVC tube all the way down to the bottom.

  • if you did want the bottle upright just get some pvc pipe and an elbow an it would still suck from bottom :D

  • Water pump draws in air with oxygen through air tube---that's a good arrangement compared to what most people are using --- jump air pump with tubing. But at the other end, the media is not moving freely. I think it is better to stick to the vertical positioning of the bottle... Just my two cents. :)

  • Maybe you may put it upright vertical instead, should work better

  • @kelvgan, if I were to put the bottle upright, the powerhead won't be able to suck the dirt from the bottom of the tank. =)

  • I would say that the bottle is too long for the bubble jet to reach the right end of it.

Anyway, some of the stationary media started going with the flow the next day.

    =)

  • Is there too much media in there since some doesn't move at all?
