Not many of these young men out there like David, heck not manymen like David out there period. Just gotta love everything about him I sur do :-)

  • I sa that he posted an video up on his facebook page talking about going onto an Mission. But I am confused can someone explain to me please what exacly what kind of mission he is doing? I know it's with his religion but I dont quit unerstand.

  • @4evaiheartu He is serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or the Mormon church). This mission is where a young man of 19+ (or woman of 21+) chooses to serve a full-time mission for the Lord, teaching about Jesus Christ and the Gospel for 2 years (1 1/2 for girls) in any part of the world where Mormon missionaries are accepted. They do not get to choose where they go, rather they get sent where to go (in a letter) by our Church president, the Prophet.

  • @4evaiheartu If you ever want to find a Mormon missionary, look for two clean-cut young guys walking in pairs along a street wearing white shirts, ties, black plants, and a black name tag. Sometimes they are in full suits. Oh, and they always carry around backpacks =)

  • What an amazing kid. David has a great heart which is why we love him. Not to forget his beautiful voice. Good luck David. Luv u!

  • wow david, the song is amazing and your voice is amazing

  • He is a faithful member of the Church and a very down to earth... I love you David, you are the best! :)

  • We're all so proud of you, Elder Archuleta. You're fans will all wait for you while you're on your mission. I think it's amazing how unafraid you are of showing your feelings and sharing what you believe. BTW, O Holy Night is an absolutely beautiful song, and you made my favorite Christmas hymn so special. I wish you the best of luck on your mission, and GOD BE WITH YOU TIL WE MEET AGAIN. <3

  • one of the best decision you've made david is to bring souls;unto our Father, serve him in His vineyard. .choosing to be part of His servant, and loose your career, this Wokr would be your best concert in your life! im a return missionary., hope you serve here at philippine mission, we love u so much, you have our support bro.david

He will be blessed and will be able to bless others(:

  • what a brave soul. i'm not religious in any way, but i'm so proud of him. he's a beautiful human being inside and out.

  • Im way prud of you Elder Archuleta... served my mission way back 2004-2006 Philippines Quezon City Mission

  • I am a mormon and i am so excited that he is going on a mission! DAVID I LOVE YOU. I hope he gets called to my ward(: i just burst with happiness when i see this.

  • I've known that David is a devout Mormon for years. This doesn't interest me. He's a great person and that comes from within. It has nothing to do with his religion. That's how I feel. I love him and respect him. I hope his mission is fulfilling, but I also hope he returns to music. I'm a fan for life!

  • friscofreeze, if David exemplies LDS youth, then they are doing something right. I've never seen a more courageous, selfless, and generous young man. I'm not Mormon, but this country is supposed to be all about religious tolerance. Bless you David, and come back to us....

  • David is young and grew up in the Church. But one has to look at Joseph Smith honestly. He took a 13 y/o girl as one of his wives.against her wishes.Today he would have been put in jail. How do Mormons justify such behavior in the name of God? The Mormon Church needs to be looked at with a critical eye as do many churches and religions. God know no boundaries. He recognizes if someone is spiritual whether they ever set foot in a church or not.

  • @friscofreeze Why do you feel to vent your religious angst upon this video? The world is not perfect and i absolutlely agree with your anger with what the 13 yrs girl endured. It is atrocious beyond words. However, to hold one congregation responses for a bad seed is not reasonable despite the position they may hold. I agree with you, faith is personal and not a matter of showing up every sunday.

  • Whatever decision you make ... We'll always be here for you our very dear DAVID JAMES ARCHULETA.. ♥♥♥

  • Thanks so much for this video!! I was at this concert and I will never forget David announcing his mission and singing this song. It was a very moving experience to watch him. He is an amazing human being!! This show was the best concert I have ever been to in my life!

  • its 12-19-11 when he announced this,,

    its my birthday!!!

  • i felt his sadness..

we're willing to wait for you.

    keep safe david

  • I'm not surprise he choose to do that because this is kind of David that we fall in love will do And I support you even I'm Buddha.

Thank you for all 4 years that you inspire me and it still be the same when you come back.

I'm will waiting for you come back with my love and my hope in you.

    God bless you.

  • He is a truly remarkable young man to put his faith in the Lord and give up his remarkable career for two years to share the gospel with others. He will be blessed!

  • I love this song, and he sings it wonderfully!

  • Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all things shall be added unto you. I know that missionary work is the greatest work. David Archuleta shows a great example to every one of us, to seek first the Lord and follow his heart. Good Luck... and Return with Honor. :)

  • David visits us in Hollywood Ward in Los Angeles pretty much every time he is in town! What a great guy! It is always a pleasure and an honor to meet a person like you!

  • did anyone know where david or shall i say Future ELDER ARCHULETA was assigned?

  • I'm a MoRmAn and my brother is about to leave on a mission soon and I will miss both there's boys but it is without a doubt the correct decision :)

  • No matter what is going on, David always ends with a smile. A true human masterpiece is David Archuleta.

  • I hope he comes to knock at my door! ahaha

  • With david!!

  • Can somebody please tell me whats going on!!!!!?

  • @89rauliyo David is a mormon. He will be becoming a missionary for 2 years. Missionaries go teach other ppl about their beliefs and stuff like Joseph Smith... David will not be singing for two years.

  • @miguelvara1 what is a mormon?

  • @munaiscool2 Mormon is a religion! o.O

  • @miguelvara1 ah ok sorry for asking

  • I love how, when David said mission, everyone clapped and screamed...half of them probably had no idea what he was talking about!

  • @NameGenerator97 apparently he was in his hometown when he announced this so I'm sure many of them knew what he was talking about

  • @NameGenerator97 Utah is full of mormons! (I think they knew what was happening.)

  • No! David No!!!!!! </3

  • This is David singing his testimony and living his testimony. So incredibly powerful. Love ya always David.

  • eeeeeek.. 0:43 frightens me... 0_o

  • i remember falling in love with Crush by David <3

  • I have so much respect for someone like David, who tries to do what they feel is right even though it involves sacrifice. I have never heard "Oh Holy Night," sung with such beauty and emotion. This guy is incredible.

  • :'(

  • [7:09 - .....] is just like Heaven on Earth.. Such raw passion.. Wow, just woww!

2007 through 2011 was just glorious.. as will be 2014!

So much love for this guy right here!

    ArchAngel for liiife <3

  • I can only begin to express how happy this makes me. David is a young man putting his music career on hold, to go to a place he has never been before to teach people who have not been fortunate enough to learn about the gospel! I truly am grateful that David has decided to take this step in his life, to help make the world a better place. I know wherever he goes he will make a difference and touch the heart of the people he meets. David I Love you! Keep on doing the things the lord would want.

  • El vendrá a la misión Lima Perú! =)!

  • I hope we meet at the Mission Field.

  • hope that all youth feel what you have felt.. :)) you're amazing.! :)

  • I'm not a Mormon, but I believe that it is an overall positive thing to send kids away to new places and experiences that help them mature in their vulnerable years while helping others. David didn't get to experience normal childhood or graduate with his class. If he hadn't done this, he would most likely have regretted it. Imagine that his emotions tonight include everything from embracing his faith to temporarily leaving friends and family and music. I'm proud to be a fan now and later.

  • he almost make me mourn :D

wow que rectitud y que valor de hacer las cosas

  • Please come to the Santa Rosa California Mission!!!! He has to go foreign, right? He would be to easily recognized in America wouldn't he?

  • i love him!! he´s just amazing and i´m sure that he took the best choice!!

  • @theEricoeric You are so wrong. Please get your facts straight. He DROPPED JIVE they wanted to keep him. His concert that he just finished was almost all sold out. He is not doing this because he didn't get signed, He didn't want to get signed, Please do not spread the untruths that the media is spreading.

  • He is my hero! David, you are making the absolute right decision here. I can tell you have felt that special feeling before, and we know what it is. I know lots of people who are cheering for you and want you to know that you are an amazing example. I know you will be protected through the true church.

Way to go, enort1964. I am glad that there are as many members of this true church as there are, but I want all of us to join in the Celestial Kingdom after that day.

    David, love you! Stay true.

  • T^T .. he has a wonderful voice .. he just made me cry T^T

  • i'm crying right now while watching this video :(( .....be strong , David !! :(

  • @cKlovesKaka you have got to be joking

  • @elaprendiz23 what are you talking about? i never said anything about money

  • David, we are so proud of you! What a good example you are to the youth!

  • OH MY GOD!

  • He looks like Danny off of Grease.

  • Seeing a lot of comments about arguing and opposing beliefs, make me prefer more of a "child-like" faith... Imagine if religion isn't so much complicated, but more simplified and generalized... I'm tired of debates...

  • Maybe he wasn't expecting a lot of support from his fans, so maybe he was touched and at the same time overwhelmed by everything that he has been feeling deep inside him for a very long time, and also maybe it's a very hard decision to make, that he cried... I could actually feel what he could have felt at that time, and if that was me (believe me, I can make choices like that), I would be crying also, maybe for the whole night. Although I am not a LDS member, I definitely see myself in him...

  • i know.. he made a hard decision..

    but, its a good willing..

i support him with all my heart :)

    ill be waiting..

  • love this kid.

  • to Brother D.Archuleta,I know that you are indeed doing the Lord's work,I too served a full time mission and I loved what I did,now I am father of 3 lovely daughter who are also planning to go on mission,to others who believed that our church is not true,we respect your own opinion but I know and I believed also that there will be judgement day where we will find out what true or who true church is and I want you all know that me and my family know that the church where we are is JESUS church..

  • @enort1964 its not about whos true or not...its about the fact that a building isnt needed to be close to your God. Alot of people find comfort in the idea of a after...that they arent alone...i can tell you we arent alone but i can also tell you that God doesnt need us to go out and change people...they will do that on their own. Churches are just place where people give money for no reason other then to pay for the "works" that they are told to. Its being blindly lead to falsehood.

  • @DevinJamesS11 don't get me wrong Devin,i was thinking of not responding to ur comment but i just thought that maybe this will start a good friendship, anyway,i want u to know we never go out to change people because we know that each of us are entitled of our own free agency, what we do,we share what we know is true and it's up to the people if they will accept our words or not.besides, we received no any compensation on what we are doing.i served 2years and happy for my actions.

  • @enort1964 i think this could be a very interesting friendship...i could agree with everything but one thing...and thats whats true...truth is wat we make it...wat we believe...its not wat is true...i could say i believe the sky isnt blue but is it? well that depends on wat time of day it is...right? it changes colors...its blue yellow and orange...it just depends on where the sun is. my point is never say you share what is true...because it is only wat YOU believe to be true....nothing more.

  • hiks hiks,,,

  • Go ahead David.. we miss u

  • @koulangel -___-

  • HELLO. My name is DAVID ARCHULETA and I would like to share with you this book of Jesus Christ!

This book will change this book will change this book will change your life!!!

    The Book of MOOOOOOOOOOOORRMON.

  • For the first time i saw @DavidArchie crying.

  • Awwwwwwwwwwww. He does care about his fans, he's amazing. And wow his voice is just amazing. When he comes back his true fans ill be there for him <3

  • Hate to be a wet blanket but the Mormon god was once a man, and the God of the Bible was always God.

  • @thejimmyzshow I think you need to educate yourself before making random comments like this one. Jesus Christ is the only begotten of Our Heavenly Father. Jesus was once a mortal man, the only perfect being. He is and always will be Our Lord. All religions pray to God. Some believe in Jesus Christ some do not. Mormons Do believe in Him that is why the church is called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Pray you will seek out the truth on your own.

  • @RArchieFan1st Nothing random about what I wrote, nothing random at all. In Mormonism, god was once a man BEFORE he became god. The Bible refutes this. Also, Mormons believe they can be gods themselves of their own planets - and that's completely not supported in the Bible.

  • @thejimmyzshow omg...fyi one was put together by a bunch of men that "thought" they knew wat was best (aka the bible) and the other was thought up by a man that was a "glass looker" or a cheat. So both are not complete...the bible needs the rest of the books that were written and the mormon book is changed wenever it suites the "living prophet."

  • @DevinJamesS11 Incorrect. The Bible is the word of God.

  • @thejimmyzshow we know it is, but we belive that exist another testament like it. ;D

  • @Beto04LDS No such thing Biblically.

  • @RArchieFan1st Christ was not just a man but a man of power, a Ascended Master...now if you really open your eyes you would see that perfect is a point of view for one and wat we might call divine power isnt really from God but something we as humans in general are capable of but cant tap into as of now...Jesus was able to which is why he seems to be a God. The trust is more amazing then you know...i hope you seek out truth with a open mind

  • Meant really not sally

  • A true example of a young man giving up 2 years of millions of dollars and 2 years of his life, so that a family somewhere can live with each other for eternity! Your an inspiration David to all those around you!

  • Wow I think this is retarded haha Mormons don't think it's right to be gay and think you can change who you are and he is gay and I don't think he Sally wants to go he will loose everything haha stupid cow

  • omg, i forgot how in love with this boy i was. what a sweetheart! this is so touching! thanks, buck <3

  • He has a beautiful voice!

Although I'm not Mormon, I commend him on his decision.

  • Aw his fans are so sweet. Someone said "Oh don't cry babe" and sniffled.

  • God bless him!! David is an example for all of us...he motivates me!

  • WOW♥

  • Going on a mission in the LDS Church is a big deal, a great sacrifice. Realize the fact that his singing career is huge. It's amazing that he has decided to do one. You go David Achuleta and good luck! Mormon Power!! :D

  • I think my heart just broke. I don't know much of the Latter Day Saints Church but I hope he comes back to singing. :)

  • They'll probably send him to Nauvoo or Kirtland (Mormon-historical theme parks) with all the other talented young men who sing and dance and struggling with "same-sex-attraction".

  • @Balehipocanter Do you speak from experience or something? He's more of a man than most "men" in the industry.

  • @Balehipocanter I think I love you!

  • i have a LOT of respect for him

  • :'( I wish he wasn't a Mormon

  • @Alfredosalviboy Why? I'm glad he is. I'm glad there is at least one innocent, not paparazzi-crazed singer out there. I'm proud of him.

  • what the buck sent me here

  • I am so proud of you David! I about started crying when i heard you say that! You Rock!

  • woohoo!! i got 80 likes!!! lol my first top comment!!!!

  • @jardoz1 I think all religions are in some way ridiculous but I do respect peoples choice to believe in what they choose and do not treat them any differently because of there faith, until they use their religion to spread hate and negativity.Which he is not doing though.

  • I wouldn't trade my mission for anything in this world

  • sad he is mormon but yeah it is cool he lives by what he believes and that's not what most people do. is like saying i am gonna become a priest, too big step plus my mom would kill me first cuz she wants grandkids hehehe

  • aaawwwww......im going 2 miss you david!

  • Though I am not a person who attends church or believes in the church, I do applaud him for following his heart and having a strong conviction in his faith. Your a good man David.

  • "Cry some moor!" - Heavy

  • @Widget0508 I thumbs down this cause of that fool.

  • @ohmygodmilktv Don't watch the video then. Have some heartt.

  • @ohmygodmilktv wow man calm down seriously there is no reason why you should be yelling at him to get off the stage this whole video is beautiful and if you dont like it you dont have to watch it

  • wait i dont get why is the audience cheering??...

  • @rtistbex because they r supporting his choice.

  • @seaglec yeah but you'd think theyd be sad hes not making music. and OMG i noticed your icon is troye sivan in wolverine.. You like troye sivan???? :D

  • wait i dont get why is the audience cheering??....

  • What the buck sent me here

  • Sorr,Can somone explain to me what a missionary is? //:

  • @mimiandsweetyshow a missionary is when people from the church go on these trips door to door telling people bout god for like two years

  • @mimiandsweetyshow The LDS Church (mormons) do a voluntary 2 year mission when they are 19 or so, it is voluntary and they pay their own way, with help if unnecessary. They go out to do 2 years of service and preaching Christ and the restoration of the fullness of the gospel.

  • @mimiandsweetyshow : LDS young like David serve like missionaires peaching the gospel of Jesuschrist during 2 years outside theirs homes and sometimes theirs countries. Iam Chilean and serve in my own country, last week a friend go out to Mexico....

  • I saw David as a support act with a band here in England a few years ago, he's so lovely and should do what makes him happy :)

  • Oh I get it ... in this video he is surrounded by his "people" I guess which explains the explosion of applause he got when he made the announcement. WOW that is deep maybe God can help resurrect his music career. So yea do what you need to do David. All the best!!

  • I hope he realizes the professional risk he is taking with the mission he is about to undertake. Not many can come back and claim a piece of the music industry when gone for a year and he will be gone two years. I wish him the best. Good luck on all levels.

  • @bxbomb69 I'm pretty sure if he wants to do a mission he doesn't really care about his professional career

  • I am Mormon and I may not keep the same standards as others of my faith, but I must say how much courage it must have taken him to do this and how much faith he has.

  • maybe he's just joining the cast of book of mormon...

  • i'm personal agnostic, but i think that it's great that he felt that he too should go on his two year mission like so many others in the LDS Church his age do. Fame is not everything, and for him to truly keep his faith and practice it and want to share it is very brave of him. I can see that he is truly a blessed person.

  • David archuleta is one of the people that can make a difference in the world. he is an amazing singer and i hope he will be able to complete his mission. <3 ARCHIE LOVE FOREVER<3

  • If he is trying to reach souls as a missionary, isn't what he is doing as an entertainer more valuable than going door to door on a bike.

  • @steverexfg Not even close. There's so much more to it than that.

  • @steverexfg wrong choice of words

  • I honestly don't know how he sang that song after feeling so much emotion inside himself and from the crowd. That takes real voice control! Aside from that--he is a rare and shining light in this world so full of darkness. Love him.

  • what the buck?
