  • I have just tried this amp in the music store.I was very impressed. Zakk Wilde Ephiphone guitar with passive EMG's screamed like hell through this amp, super punchy defined tone with superb note separation.EVH Wolfgang sounded totally different, less punchy, but defined with incredible sustain.Cheap Ibanez sounded cheap. This amp covers all from clean to metal.I play mainly fusion and was totally satisfied with the sound. The sound is very 3-dimentional and fills all room even without effects.

  • and then there is the ultra channel which gives you *pause* even more gain. BOOOOOOM

  • Ich möchte auch so eine geile bestie!

  • Can you use a Ground Control Pro or Lexicon Midi pedal (7pin Midi) using the amps phantom power?

  • @AlanScottBand

    It IS a 7-pin

  • pay car payment, or buy a switchblade,,,,,,,,,,tough...

  • i own a Matrix 100 head & cab ,LOL, but i want to "switch" blade ....

  • this guy could make any amp sound fantastic.

  • hughes and kettners are tanks!

  • Coole Kiste so ein Kettner ;-)

    Nice greets

    Uli

  • thats some heavy crunch.. and some really really heavy ultra

  • he looks like Tommy Emmanuel when he was younger,,,,

  • For those of you with a Strat... The HK makes this thing soooo FAT! Love this amp. I've been playing a 83' JCM 800 for years and loved my Les Paul with it, but the Strat lacked something....

H&K nailed the mix! Great amp! I prefer the T-30 cabinet. Your choice.

Jesus I love playing this. Statesman Dual EL34.

Clean is like JAVEX and DIRT is like every porn star you've jerked off to!

  • i have the switchblade 100w combo amp and let me tell you, this amp is absolutely amazing. four channels, all fully adjustable, with different effects applied and stored onto the foot pedal, with all of the tube power most people will ever need. by far the best investment i have ever made. thanks thomas and all of the people at h&k.

  • Now thats what an AMP should sound like. And thats how a guitar should be played. My Line 6 is jealous of the switchblade

  • what a amazing guitarist !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm looking for a new ampself and was pretty much decided on a Splawn QR with a few pedals or my G-Major, until I found this amp.

Can this amp do more of a fuller sounding, more 'vintage' tone?

Most of the clips I hear of it are thinner sounding with alot of treble, more 'modern' I guess?

  • Comment removed

  • Do the combos come with footswitch?

  • @MtSpo23

Yes they do. At least my H&K Sw.blade 50 Combo did.

  • I've played this amp for a few years, and it's just awesome.... The best gigging amp I've ever played!! In the studio it records wonderfully!!! Excellent work H&K!! Just EXCELLENT.

  • hughes&kettner with tubes are the best.Best tone, best quality and endless different

    tones.

  • Lots of gain on every channel, even his clean channel was crunchy, his cruch channel was heavy, the lead channel was 80's pinch harmonics gain levels and the ultra is just silly. That on single coils? I'm sure it can do more than this. I just don't think this amp has been given a fair crack here.

  • ok, this has got to be like, one of the, if not, THE best guitar amp(s) ive iver heard!

  • Its not fair Thomas is such a gifted player that he can make any amp sound great.

  • @YouSpamTard obvious trolling, 1/10. try harder

  • hey do you reckon this amp would be good for metalcore (parkway drive, prom queen, august burns red etc)

  • Youspamtard:

You're a fucking retard. This guy will blow you away. Seriously, are you that jealous?

As for the switchblade, this is one hell of an amp and worth every last penny. I tried a lot of different amps from solid state, digital, hybrids and other all tube amps. This one is hands down my fav.

  • These amps can just about model any sound. I switched from a Marshall JCM800 to a Switchblade 100TSC. I got my TSC100 from an Ebay store called Norton Ltd. I wanna plug these guys, they are number 1 in service & price, they also offer a 7 day unconditional try out, and a free bag of Zapps chips. Can't beat that!

  • hi!

is there much noise on ultra and lead channel?

  • @VelhosNovos no there is not actually! its pretty quiet amp really. i have tested it a few times, its a good amp! though i wish it could do better with metal music.. but 80s metal it does very well!

  • Those riffs on the crunch channel sounded like Chickenfoot.

  • Does anyone else think this amp sounds a lot like a Peavey JSX? I bet you could get some nice Satch tones on this amp.

  • Does anybody know if the delays get cut off when you change banks or do they spill over to the new bank when you change sounds?

  • sounds like a great show amp. How ever the price for the 50watt combo is still very expensive but its great how the effect are built in and its still a tube amp unlike most built in FX amps today. Plus the lead tones are with out a doubt flawless

  • this amp sounds amazing hughes and kettner amps rule

  • is there a way to boost the volume when it is solo time without using any pedals except the footswitch? i ask this because i saw there's only one master volume...

  • just copy your canal to another bank and give him more volume/gain

  • you should be able to set up another channel with the same sound with a bit more volume or delay. Thats what I do. I set up a crunch channel and then a solo channel

  • all tube, great amp!

  • does anyone know if this is a tube amp?

  • yeah its a tube amp but its got an almost effects loop with a built in effects multi processor. i played one of these not long ago! it is amazing to be frank! but if you like this may i say its worth checking out the Blackstar Series 1 200w head! Nearest you can get to a Mesa Boogie i would say!!!

  • oh thanks dude... i'll definately check it out!

  • yes, it is a tube amp

  • is their a foot pedal used to change the channels?

  • yes, there is, quite a nice one too

  • I like the chorus, delay :D

The crunch chanel are so great

  • at 5:35 in the midle a knob is broken off!

  • dude, that's a button to take 10db off the FX loop.

  • the footswicht it's added with the amp when you buy it?

  • yes

  • how would the mkII sound on my 1960a marshall

  • im planning on buying this amp after i get the money this is an awesome demo vid

  • Great player...Cool demo too..just the right amount of talking and playing

  • How to make a Strat go Metal.

  • Maybe if you play what was considered 'metal' 70s. Why buy a single coil guitar if you're going to play metal?

  • Ive had this amp over a year now and it still blows me away. You can get just about any sound you want from this bad boy. This amp rocks!!! Great for metal or classic rock. Im always getting compliments on my tone thanks to this amp. Get one if you can!!!

  • has this amp enough gain for nu metal

  • can you connect the 100 wat combo to a extension cab?

  • yes

  • As far as I know, yes.

  • yes you can

  • Get a job

  • Nice, but give U BIG feedback and noise.

I don't know why it hasn't got any noise supressor...

  • Dude... what.

    That sounds Killer.

  • is there a line out to feed another power amp?

  • Can an one imagine how this amp would sound with an ESP going through it? :|

    Jesus i want one.

  • Is it possible to turn the effectzone on and off with the help of the footswitch?

  • No, and it's a shame. But you have 128 presets, so you can have dry and effected doubles of all your sounds and still have plenty of room for more...

  • sounds very marshallish... imo like jcm900 or dual channel 800

  • the amp let the strat sound like a metal guitar on the ultra channel...damn i wanna have that thing!!!

  • delicious distortion!!!

  • this is awesome seriously thinking of buying one of these once i have enough money

  • How much would one of these cost?

  • the head about 1.300 €uros

  • In germany 1399€! Midiboard includet!

  • sounds like a Marshall kind of like an JCM 800

  • Never Mind I think its got a JMP kind of sound of course it will Have a Marshall Like sound cause of the EL 34

  • Is that Stock?

  • Just got a Switchblade 50 1X12 combo. Haven't been able to figure out how to get a good tone out of it yet but I am sure I will soon! The pedal input on the back is touchy, doesn't like to stay i without constant pressure.........

  • fuck! i want this amp sooooo bad. i had the money a few months ago and i went for the JSX. after seeing this video... now i regret! waaaaa!!!

  • Must.. Get.. Switchblade.

  • if your from UK i`v seen it going for 200 pounds on e-bay :P

  • can anybody tell me how he does this hammer on harmonic thing at 2:55 i can see his left hand is hammering between 2 notes but can't work out what his right hand is doing? ive tried this and just seem to damp the strings if i run my right hand over them. ???

  • you gotta trill faster, and harder. Also your right hand finger that drags over the strings should be soooo light. Like almost not touching, also more gain helps. Plus use the bridge pickup.

  • All I know is that I want one.

  • yep, 100 watts are 100 watts.

  • Some of these comments crack me up...pretty good/pinch harmonics terrible/ Thomas Blug is a monster player whats a matter with you people?

  • A les paul couldn't come close to all those tones, les pauls are "les pauls" and besides anybody who knows guitars knows that you have to "Play" a strat, they are very personal.........I'll stick with my strat thank you.................

  • sad, sad , sad wtf do you want 27 frets for ? have you got a poodle perm and wear spandex ,,,,nice!!!!!!

  • of course i do!

  • i dunno if that's damn funny or dumb XD

i'd give you one + point and one - point

  • Adam and Joel from killswitch use caparisons . . . Killswitch engage . . . yeah they're no 80's hair metal band with " poodle perms ".Think again, please.

  • No, killswitch engage are much, much worse than any hair metal.

  • thats all that lump of shit caparison is a strat rip off just a copy of a evh super strat where do you think all these crap guitars get there ideas from ? the mighty strat any body knows that any classic track from whenever was played on a gibson or a strat NOT! a caparison wtf a heap of shit get a life girlyboy play a real guitar fuck!

  • Make a movie of the WARP X maybe i'm gonna buy one xd

  • i met him! he is pretty cool

  • he should have used a les paul :p

  • He should have used a Caparison guitar for the amp test, not a shitty strat.

  • a strat has done more for popular music than any shitty STRAT RIP OFF knob jockey wot the fuck is going through you head cock

  • he uses a footswitch that modify the sound. you can see it when he turns from lead to crunch, for example.

este hombre usa un pedal de pie que modifica el sonido, se puede apreciar cuando pasa del modo lead al crunch, por ejemplo. le mete una patada al suelo, y no creo que sea porque tenga un tic.

  • it is explained later... forget it

si es que estos ingleses hablan raro y yo no me entero...

  • he's actually pretty good

  • i'm in love with it's clean channel..omfg so fucking pure..spellbinding..

  • Thomas Blug is the man. Good lord he can play.

  • "and lol for heavy metal out of a strat" ?? Yea only Yngwie, Blackmore, Hendrix use strats.. You should try a classic strat like his through it. You'll really cut through and have a different sound instead of a ESP LTD and EMG pickups.

  • this amp have 12ax7 and el34 tubes with programmable effects. the tone is awesome!

  • Really amazing sounding amp!

And lol for the heavy metal out of a strat :)
