  • by these reasons it is called mother of all martial arts... and not just because of bodhidharma....

if you study the history with an open mind ,,, then you will come to know these truths...

  • yes each civilization has got there own traditional system of combat , medicine etc...

if you see the history, it is formed from the indian civilization, when they were living in a highly civilized way , most of the other part of the world were leading merely a nomadic culture ....

at that time itself they developed there own martial arts,.. and other branches of science etc...

and kalarippayat is not just a martial art but a way of healthy living and also a medical system also

    ....contd...

  • Love the martial arts, but the VJs seem like fake confused fucks.

  • KALARIPPAYAT ,YOGA,AND AYRVEDA........Kalarippayat is a great and ancient physical, cultural and martial art of Kerala, which was in prevalence from time immemorial. It is primarily an art of physical culture, well developed in a most scientific way

  • K.G.MURALEEDHARA GRUKKAL ......Sreepathy C.V.N. Kalari started at Cheruvandoor near Ettumanoor in 1970 when kalarippayattu was not very popular in central Travancore. From a humble beginning it has grown to success and fame over the years

  • kerala c v n kalari is amazing institute of kalarippayat and kalari treatment...... great grand master Muraleedhara Gurukkal...who is

the mastero in the field of kalarippayat, Indian wrestling , yoga,

    marma therapy, and treatment.....

  • how funny you also dont mention that painting was made a THOUSAND years after bodhi's time.

funny enough, in the SAME period as that joke of a document that credits bodhi,

the PREFACE of the 1800s version of the Yi Jin Jing.

how funny you would use a painting to support anything, but it isnt mentioned in actual historic documents. only prefaces in much later time periods. prefaces that have been discredited.

  • Sri Krishna, prince of Dwarka (a recently discovered flooded city), beated up a gladiator called chanura with Kalaripayat techniques, this was aabout 5,000 years aprox.

  • ancient mother india's wisdom slowly unfolds her treasures to the world. gratitude for posting this video!

  • surely.... the true art will unfold to the world...

    thanx

  • they shud introduce this in olympics

  • sure sir these martial art which is considered as the mother of all martial art should be included in olympics...

  • no its not. LMAO. who considers this the mother of all martial arts??? LOLOLOL. not even shaolin does. yessss shaoling. the stupid kalari website was wrong.

martial arts historians have now discredited the bododharma myth.

  • ROFL Which historians? none because your a liar, secondly when emperor Asoka ruled the most of Asian content in the 6th century he converted to Buddhism and sent his coveted warriors who were Buddhist missionaries to sent to aid the people of war stricken nations. The newly converted followers were often attacked by the soldiers of local leaders and had to find a way to defend themselves using the animal positions thought originally as yogic exercises of kalarippayattu to keep them healthy.

  • asoka ruled most of the TINY south asian continent. where nobody cared. and his empire lasted less than 150 years. india was always pathetic when compared to real asian empires.

now im going to destroy your kung fu fantasy

  • lol man your history is off.

why is it that racist chinese loners come online and say these bad things bout indians

but mainstream normal chinese people have no problem with admitting indian origins of elements of their culture.

i think you should get out more

  • @BoxerMonkey

rofl, how nice of you to tell me your made up bullshit. the only thing indian is buddhism, and zen buddhism is not the same LOL. only thing historical records have confirmed is Bodhi teaching breathing techniques to monks who already knew KF. TOO BAD :(

you cant even point out what i have said that is incorrect let alone give me a single historical document to back up any claims you have.

i think you should stop talking to me unless you are going to actually have some points.

  • hah, very funny chink

got a reply in 30 seconds within posting pretty much, cause u haven't been outside, prolly didn't even get out for new years

ok chink, tell me why on youtube, in the kempo karate documentary, chinese, and japanese people themselves are explaining about martial arts being brought from india, by bodhi dharma and they even have the portrait from a chinese tapestry, that shows bodhi dharma, and indians sparring with chinese people

  • listen you inferior monkey, historical documents is the ONLY thing that matters when you talk about history. not some youtube video.

what a joke, i know what historical document they got it from, you dont hahaha. whats even funnier is that document has been discredited by historians LOL.

as for those so called paintings, it shows light and dark people sparring.

only you clowns think they are indians. however the faces are the SAME for both colors. they were Chinese.

    truth hurts

  • . Bodhidharama is dated at around 5th century CE. Kung fu existed way before that. for example, Shuai Jiao. Jiao Li was also taught to Zhou Dynasty soldiers. Also, Spring and Autumn Annals of Wu and Yue, the Bibliographies in the Book of the Han Dynasty and the Records of the Grand Historian all document martial arts that predate Shaolin.

  • . The first 2 men who became the very first Shaolin monks were already experts in kung fu. Shaolin kung fu came from them. ("History of Chinese Martial arts: Jin Dynasty to the Period of Disunity") Also, they found weapons in the monestaries of Chang'an. ("Martial arts Myths of Shaolin Monastery, Part I: The Giant with the Flaming Staff") Suggesting the monks already practied martial arts.

  • The creation of the 5 animal styles of kung fu is documented.

Jueyuan was a master of the 18 Luohan Hands. the original 18 techniques of Shaolin. He expand to 72, but wanted to do more. He travel to Gansu Province to the city of Lanzhou and met Li Sou. He was a master of Hong Quan. they work with Bai YuFeng and expand the 72 techniques to around 170. Those 170 techniques were than divided into the 5 animal forms.

  • You mean the same article that formulated by Asian nationalist with the main aim of discrediting it as fiction for financial benefit and PROPAGANDA LOL belive what you want sheep

  • nothing i posted was an article...

indian or not, if you can read you should be able to see a cited every historical document i used.

    what have you cited? exactly.

shut up now. anyone with half a brain could see i know far more about this than you.

  • The Yin Jin Jing has been discredited by historians (like Tang Hao, Xu Zhen and Matsuda Ryuchi) and is not seen as a legitimate source. The Yin Jin Jing is full of historical inaccuracies as well. For example, it was Li Jing's foreword that says Shaolin kung fu came from Bodhidharama. It also refers to the 10th year of the Taihe period of Emperor Xiaoming of Northern Wei. The Taihe reign wasn't even under Emperor Xiaoming but Xiaowen.

  • angryaznman,

Is an angry chinese gentlemen. Not all chinese are like him. This fellow even hates other chinese who have praised ancient India culture and martial origins. He is a bit like some europeans who try to deny origins of their culture and even themselves from Africa and land with darker skinned people.

The chinese government has hidden evidence of negroid african fossil evidence. This is what nationalists do.

  • For now on, I take what scholars and historians claim since they considered the myth a forgery.

  • @gaandarvam It's not "the mother of all martial arts" since most cultures developed their own fighting system.

  • wing chun is better! ;-)
