  • Who the fuck was standing by the windows and died? Don't stand by windows at the bow when there are high seas out. Use your dam brain.

  • @Musicfan0444 I don't think they really thought that the windows on the ship that are specifically made to not break from a wave hitting them would actually break. Let alone a freak wave come out of no where. You sir are an idiot.

  • I was on carnival ecstasy and the last night waves were bad

  • wtf 2 people died WTF?

  • what does cancelling crew mean?

  • @MrGrandman99 cruise not crew

  • @MrGrandman99 they were executed by chuck norris with one roundhouse

  • Needed stronger windows, it's a design flaw, it's not a big wave problem

  • This was more flawed ship design rather than mother nature. Those windows along the first deck on the bow should never have been there. Any ship in a storm is going to take water across the bow. Take a big one, see what happens.

  • It's like that scene from Titanic when the water bursts into the dome by the Grand staircase.

  • Lol did he say shit deep?

  • Never go boating by the shore

  • Comment removed

  • water shin deep? must be pretty small people

  • I didn't have the sound on, but I read 2 people died and I figured by flying glass, lethal, especially if it was flying with the force of the water. I would probably be one of the people at the front because I like the view, and I would think I was safe - so I would be wrong, and very unlucky.

  • Holy shit. This isnt good!

  • Front facing floor to ceiling windows at deck level. On a ship. At sea. lol

  • shitty weather, 60 mile an hour winds, rough seas, freak waves......and everyone moves to the front lounge where glass panels rule, it was going to end bad

  • Thumbs up if you tries to exit out of the Rougue Waves sign!

  • Brother: i call the front of the boat!!

Sister: Aww i wanted that :(

Chuck Norris: MINE! *pushes kids off boat*

  • As far as I know, the people who died where near the window and killed by broken glass. So, as a rule of thumb, don't stand right next to windows when the seas are that rough. You're not as safe as you think.

  • love cruise ships

  • the boat dosent look that big

  • Reminds me when the water crash through The windows In Poseidon 2006

  • @8Limes and guess what, no one will care when you die

  • @DjLumbee I doubt NO ONE will care. Let's get real, as much of an asshole anyone is they probably have family.

  • @8Limes And when it is you, you'll be alone and forgotten. :)

  • @8Limes umm... Maybe have a heart and care for people?! Why are too many people mean like this. Stuck up snobs that only care about themselves?

  • @8Limes ... To bad it wasn't you...

  • First off, this was clearly unexpected, someone does not send a ship out with the intent of getting someone injured.

Second, a part of the problem was the type of glass.

This is high temper glass that shattered, the same stuff used in bullet resistant applications.

Common safety glass would have broken into hundreds if not thousands of little pieces, just like in an automobile accident.

Finally, someone getting killed, no matter what class or socioeconomic standing, is horrid.

  • Louis Majesty was originally designed for the Baltic, not deep sea trades. It has big windows on main deck level but no breakwater. In Golfe de Lyon winds chaneled by the valleys of the Pyrennees from the Atlantic can raise a storm very quickly.

  • your arguing was more entertaining that the clip....

  • WOW NOT EVEN THE OCEAN -THE MEDITERANEAN SEA. jesus christ.

  • Wouldnt want to be sat near those windows when that beast came threw , imagine amount of glass flying towards your face , must have been such a relaxing part of the cruise

  • @xoio . Yeah , i completely agree

  • Rich snobby families don't belong on the open sea if they can't handle it.

  • @KittyRokher What sort of Twatty comment is that!? - A HUGE wave smashed THROUGH the ship destroying the front viewing windows. That has fuck all to do with whether the passengers are rich or poor.

  • @xoio

I said what I said because:

    a) Most of the passengers were probably at least upper-middle class, if they can afford a cruise like that

    b) They were acting all surprised and shit. Apparently, they expected the ocean to be completely calm just for them.

  • @xoio amen

  • @KittyRokher asshole-u don't belong on utube with stupid asshole comments like that moron.hahaha

  • @ed11561

Did I hurt the babby's feelings?

If it makes you feel any better, I laughed my ass off when I heard that Casey Anthony bitch drowned her kid or whatever. Funny as hell.

  • @KittyRokher Didn't hurt my feelings asshole.I love your ignorant moronic comments douchebag.

BTW Baby is spelled with 2 b's not 3 MORON.

To post stupid comments because your ignorance is 1 thing to do it for fun because you're an asshole is another.

Go ahead be a loser your entire life asshole.hahahaha

  • @ed11561

Okay, I guess the "babby" thing went right over your head. I suppose you can't comprehend inflection.

Anyways, you can't call me a loser because I pointed out that those cruise goers can't handle ocean life. Because obviously they can't. Actually, it's really not their fault. It's the fault of the fucking retarded engineer that made a massive structural weakness with those windows being situated at that level.

Anyways, it's been a pleasure trolling you, dumbass.

  • @KittyRokher INFLECTION MY ASS DOUCHEBAG. LOL Your stupidity is more like it.

cruise goers can't handle ocean life-ARE YOU THAT STUPID? IT WASN'T IN THE OCEAN ASSHOLE. What part of SEA do you not understand dummy?

"It's the fault of the fucking retarded engineer that made a massive structural weakness with those windows being situated at that level." LOL PROOF of your stupidity. It was a 30 FOOT wave asshole.

    watch?v=lvOceI6egg0&feature=related U R 1 DUMB FUCK TROLLTARD. LOL What are you 12?

  • These big waves are more common than most people think they are. Crews of North Sea oil rigs will tell you that.

  • >>>The only mistake here is in bad safety protocols (or staff not following them at all), I presume. A small storm (about 2 or maybe 3) hit us, then we were cruising a big lake on a 4-decks liner, that also had the same placed restaurant, but it was closed immediately. All two decks above, with concert hall was also sealed not long after, and an announcement was made: "advising not to go on upper deck or outside". Draw your own conclusions. Sorry for my English.

  • To all "designers" here: it would be stupid NOT to put an observation deck on cruise f@$%ing ship. It is a standard practice to place a restaurants and other recreation facilities in front, so people can enjoy the view. These windows can withstand pretty much any wave, but as we know from the report it was three damn big waves, one after another. What you are suggesting here is to remove an eye, cause it could catch an infection, really smart, guys!>>>

  • muhahaha

  • 5 people were riding the wave

  • @watermelonorange

    Worst Cruise Ever!!!

  • @watermelonorange They are called periods. They look like this "." Use them.

  • Naval architect who designed that ship rediscovered why transatlantic ocean liners had no windows in that area.

  • Dumb design

  • (loud speaker) THE SHIP IS SINKING EVERYBODY EVACUATE!!!

(Passenger) I PAYED $17 FOR MY STEAK AND ILL BE DAMNED IF A SINKING SHIP IS GOING TO TAKE IT AWAY FROM ME!

  • @fmpanic000 I did evacuate...now somebody clean it up and get me new shorts !

  • @watermelonorange You may have been uncomfortable, but you did not almost die. Grow up.

  • This has an uncanny resemalance to the 1972 film, "THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE"

  • @watermelonorange i don't believe any of that for a second lol...

  • lol lets put justin bieber in handcuffs and throw him in the middle of infinity tsunamis. lol he'd probably sing and drive the waves away :D

  • How stupid are you to design FLAT windows that low...

  • @Mueiwark -- how rare it is that 30 foot high waves slam into a cruise ship.

  • Just a reminder who's still the boss...

  • @deino117 Chuck Norris.

  • well thats makes me feel better about my carnival cruise..

  • @watermelonorange i feel bad for u

  • This is why the modern ocean liners in the 1960's didn't had the windows nearly on the water line.

  • 30 feet is kind of lame.. did they mean 30m?

  • 30 feet?! geez and the tsunami in japan caused a 33 foot tsunami. being on a cruise ship before though, that makes 30 feet seem a lot higher than i imagine . oh man.

  • @robmundo, you can't compare wind-driven sea waves with tsunamis - completely different animals.

  • @tupsumato

i wasn't trying to compare tsunamis to waves in the sea in that sense (that would just be stupid). it's just i've been on a cruiseship and when i look down at the sea from a railing it feels really high. to see a wave reach that high is pretty remarkable to me.

  • @robmundo, okay. Still, as we have seen in the videos about the recent tsunami in Japan, there isn't really a single wave that destroys everything on its path - the wave length is so enormous that it's more like the water level raising rapidly than a wave breaking on the shore.

  • @tupsumato

    agreed!

  • Carnival pride is way better it took on 15ft sweels with out even tipping but this looked like fun!!

  • Its official. Cruise ships suck.

  • It would be fun to be on it!

  • @walkintaco711 surf's on,dudes!

  • They should install bullet proof glass to stop it from happening again

  • RIP to the people who lost ther lives on this ship and rip

  • @dappy210 ...

  • Ah yes, the Three Sisters strike again...

  • What a great CBS animation... looks like crap... CBS Sucks...

  • @cck98 yes depending on how close the earthquake is to the ship and if the earthquake is under-the-ocean or near to the-ocean, im only 13 and i know that

  • woooooow. Aren't they supposed to cancel if there's an earthquake? U no, just in case this happens?!?

  • @watermelonorange : Riiiight, and then what happened?

  • Two people killed...that just sucks ! ! !

  • I'm not a scientist, but the day before this happened, there was a powerful earthquake in South America. I was very surprised, when none of the news casts connected the two. Isn't it possible that the quake, in South America, caused a tital wave, that went around the globe, and hit this ship, the next day ?

  • @firebombclipper I see your point but wouldn't loads of other ships have been hit aswell if that was the case?

  • crap ship

  • the weather started getting rough... the tiny ship was lost

  • That sounds fun!!! You are 1,200 miles off the coast. There is a power outage from the Storm. The Cruise Ship Captain tells everybody to go to the lobby. There are three floors. People are sleeping on the ground. It is not an emergency, just a safety protocol until we ride the storm. Snacks and beverages are being served. Morning comes, the people awaken to find sunlight striking through the windows into the lobby floor. The weather is 90 degrees and the people went out to play.

  • YOU JUST GOT BITCH SLAP !

  • Jeez! who the hell woulda thought a ship could get hit by a wave. which smart alec put it anywhere near water - man, people are so stupid these days.

  • haha funny

  • The skies went dark!

    The sea went rough!

    And the boat sailed

on and on and on and oooooonnnnnnnnnn......

  • 2 people died? So what?! The fact of the matter is that anyone who was not on that cruise ship on that deck who was not in the direct vicinity of the water, simply does not care. They can show sympathy, but on the cold reality the faceless masses that form the majority care little for such death tolls as a mere 2 people. It takes a death toll on the scale of world wars to make them notice. That's just how it is

  • @Chazfullmetal And your point is? ... that the news reporter should not mention the fact of the deaths? Yes, they don't matter to most of the people, but it was a casualty, so it was reported. It also sends a message to be cautious - if you're on a boat and the weather's rough - don't just sit and stare like an idiot, because you just might die.

  • the oasis of the seas was going through 40 foot waves easily.

  • me shitting and spitting in your food is not the only danger on the open see...hello ..i will be your waiter for the next 7 days..welcome on board ...HAHAHAH

  • what ship is tiny anyways. the oasis of the seas took 40 foot waves and they went through pretty well

  • Dang! Scary!

  • @watermelonorange lmao sounds like you had fun

  • I guess no more titantic roleplays on the deck?

  • @watermelonorange that comment had me in tears of laughter lol

  • So you have to call ur family members up... "Hey your daughter was killed on a cruiseship when a big wave hit her"

    ROFL

  • Nothing wrong with the ship fact is this area is where you get some of the roughest sea in the world. Some are surprised because the Mediterranean is a "closed" sea but is a matter of currents and winds clashing due to geographical conformation where Italy and France join by the Alps. You have big drops in sea depth and massive amounts of cold air from north and warmer air from Africa hitting each other. Even summer storms can easily reach force 7/8. The ship was big but mom nature is bigger.

  • Splash!

  • thats crazy i thought the cruise was made by royal caribbean cruise line

  • 2 deaths...damn....

  • A cruise ship surrounded by glass, good design (not).

  • poor ppl I wonder if they got there money back

  • @ghettobankai They always refund 100% and give a big discount on another cruise

  • why not turn away from the wave and let the wave strike the back end

  • @themainman2008: with respect, your grasp of physics is not that good. How quickly do you believe a 569 foot long ship can turn? Three rogue waves, estimated at 25 - 30 feet in height, hit the side of this vessel. By definition a rogue wave is a spontaneous event, a joining of force of water and wind in deep seas. It's kind of like saying why don't you turn so that sudden gust of wind doesn't hit you in the face. It was unavoidable, a chance occurrence.

  • @zenbob yeah m8 but i listened to what the guy is saying unlike you he say and i quote they turned to the waves, go figure next listen before you comment

    ok then bye bye now

  • uguys gt to remember its a cruise ship not an ocean liner so they werent expecting these rough waters

  • Sometime wrong it sound audio.

  • Wow, look at that 'shin-deep' water.

  • Comment removed

  • go to 1.23 to 1.25 look at how stupidly the ship is designed! hmmmm lets put a row of windows 25 feet above the water, and level with the deck. so all the water and all that pressure can perfectly hit those windows, sometimes things may look pretty and nice, but are non practicle. and unsafe LEARN FROM THIS DESIGNERS!!

  • @awm14188 This asshole is 23 YEARS OLD & knows all about designing ships? I DON'T THINK SO U DUMB FUCKS who give this punk asshole thumbs up.A stupid punk who knows nothing. lol The ship was designed like the others THOUSANDS that are built you asshole.

BTW if a ship is going into a trough & dipping down into the waves & ANOTHER WAVE comes along the side it could have been 60 feet above & still be hit asshole.lol READ A BOOK DUMMY. They don't ALLOW unsafe ships to operate on cruises fool.haha

  • @ed11561 U r pathetic

  • @TheAngelRussie fuck off dickwad

  • @ed11561 Wow! Pathetic is not only your middle name, it's your first and last name, as well! LMAO

  • @TheAngelDouchebag you still here asswipe? Fuck off moron.

  • @ed11561 Is there a problem you DON'T have, PATHETIC? Or is your name really "Short-Dick-Can't-Get-Laid"? I do think it is. Tee-hee

  • @TheAngelRussie Anyone who ends a comment with "tee-hee" is a moronic fucking loser & asshole.hahahaha

    Douchebag

  • @ed11561, it's true that "unsafe" ships are not allowed by default, but some designs prove themselves unsafe only when something bad happens. The bow visor probably seemed a great idea until the Estonia sank with more than 800 lives, and before the Titanic sank it was perfectly okay not to have enough lifeboats for everyone, especially the livestock... err... third class.

  • @watermelonorange WOW sorry. That is horrible. I have been on 28 cruises and never, ever experienced that!

  • Quick!!!! Someone get some Shamwow!!!!!!!!!

  • @PAINfullyOWNED I lol'd. holy shit.

  • @PAINfullyOWNED or the WONDER MOP! You can wring it out fill the sea back up...where's Anthony Sullivan when you need him?

  • @PAINfullyOWNED i loled at this

  • @PAINfullyOWNED dude you know how many shamwows we would need? like one...that's a lot

  • @ThePimpGamer555 i know right

  • We have now seen Chuck Norris in wave form!

  • luckely i haven't had any troubles on my last 2 cruises.

  • @watermelonorange dude that sucks

  • The sea is the sea- don't go there if you can't handle it. It ALWAYS bigger and more powerful than YOUR ship. And no one can predict- or even explain- the "rogue wave" phenomenon. But decks have been swept clear by such for centuries....

  • rest of the cruise cancelled? pfftt, cause of a little water?..geezzz that was prob the best part of the whole trip seeing that happen.those rich people on board need to get more often or ride a roller coaster for a change.

  • @Reeda1414/ its a safetey hazerd! its not save to go on the water again. plus, people might not even want to go on because their too afraid for anything like that to happen again!

  • what im wondering is why were people allowed in the forward part of the ship during the storm

  • @watermelonorange I liked how every following happening in your post is something of greater degree of WORSE than the previous happening lol

  • what was the date of it

  • That's why big fragile windows in such vulnerable location = bad idea.

  • Funny that their animation says Norwegian Majesty on it. I wonder if they recycled it from when a similar incident happened to her in the past under that name.

  • @DEIx15x8 from wikipedia "The MS Louis Majesty (formerly MS Norwegian Majesty) is a cruise ship owned and operated by Louis Cruise Lines. "

  • i would hate to be you lmao

  • I was just on this boat in August when it was the old Norweigan Majesty....kinda sad for such a nice boat. I'm glad I have some video to remember it by when it was doing the Baltimore-St. David's trip some time ago. But I know where that was on the boat, and the Royal Fireworks was such a nice place.

  • it wasn't a very big ship at all, decks low too water, and the glass should have thicker for an incident like this.

QM2 AND OASIS OF THE SEAS WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE

  • i was there

  • cruises are fun

  • we really can't avoid that kind of disaster...tnx god you are ok..

  • Wow thats pretty crazy.

  • I hope you are okay all my friends.. god bless you
