Nice to see the phone show stay relevant with a good coverage of the options available, especially android with more and more compelling devices being released. Thanks
Hi steve i really like all the phones shows and i have a question i own a n86 and a n97 how can i get the podcast of phone show chat on the built in podcast app? Many thx and keep up the good work!!
another good phone show as usual. you seem to have read my mind w/ the naming of the N97 Mini. I have long thought this should've been the first touch screen E-series phone. the first with video out for presentations. no one would have complained about smaller memory and exclusion of FM-transmitter. it would been an E-series w/ a focus on business not multimedia. goodbye now from a fellow E75 user.
well, I just want a device has 1)decent camera for everyday photography 2) decent browser to feed your internet hunger on the go, 3). physical qwerty keyboard to type a lengthy email or notes for bolg or to chat with gtalk/yahoo/msn etc. 4) Fullfill my media needs..like streaming audio/video and mp3 library and last 5) One handed operation like eating sandwich/muffins in the lunch break by 1 hand and operation your smartphone by another hand and that gives me N97MINI , none any other phone
As a sysadmin i was pretty excited when i saw the n900. A phone with a linux dist? Hooray! Any of you guys that keep up with the news that knows if there is anything like the n900 comming out within a year?
I was anticipating a nice selection of app with the top 10 android countdown. What was shown was a selection of utilities for other apps. Not a criticism of the choice, but rather the chasm of difference between the app store and android platform. Quality and variety wise there is no match for the app store. There are games, useful apps like spreadsheets, todo lists, simple databse, voice recording, ebook readers, the list goes on.
Absolutely. The Android marketplace is currently at least a couple of years behind the Apple scene. How about I do the top 10 apps for the Apple store in show 95?
I take your point, but TouchFlo is an even bigger kludge. And Android UI is still immature (though improving fast).... Anyway, I prefer to look at functionality, i.e. what the device enables me to DO....
nokia should probably add a keylock key like the ipod/iphone has. I find this very handy and it helps saving the battery by turning of the display with one press of a button.
Awesome review! I am planning on getting an n97 mini, this helped a lot :D

Are you sure? I guess we'll find out when 32GB hits.... Nokia only tend to specify the ones they've tested etc.

Why does all the reviewers of the n97 mini say it doesnt have an fm radio? My n97 mini has fm radio!
Andyvalver 2 years ago 2
FM *TRANSMITTER*. Not radio receiver.
stevelitchfield 2 years ago
Ah right. Haldy important then as most phones dont have that
Andyvalver 2 years ago
Err... so those that DO have that should be better! It's a great feature, actually, for drivers.

Simplest is to type in the RSS address? Or email me for more details? Listen to Phones Show Chat 12 for more on this, too...

Seems very close to my own requirements too, post a reply if you've gone ahead and got the mini, be good to hear feedback from a like minded person.

That would be great. I enjoyed your top 10 games for the iphone.

:-) Any 'useful' app in the app store has an equivalent in Android...
Having had Android from the beginning it's now annoying trying to find apps in the market place - must be an absolute nightmare in the app store!
Couple of Key apps missed by Tim;
- Any Cut (to allow extra single touch icons to bookmarks, contacts, etc. on home screen)
- Mapweasel (to see live traffic reports for the UK in google maps)
- Babbler (Facebook app - best IMO)
- Mileage (keeps track of you mpg/petrol cost etc!)

again, Symbian 5th edition is a boring port form 3rd edition. its no touch-flo, no iphone, no android.
it may not crash anymore, but its still 2006

Wouldn't a device named a E91 need be a clamshell instead of a slider?
themanwhoknew 2 years ago
Every other Enterprise series have different form factors within the same model line. E91 can be whatever.
