  • dat ending omgggg i wish i could get it to sound like that .____. T___T

  • @estudiosinluz : AGREE !

  • beautiful ... =)

  • It sounds typically Asian. Perfect execution technically. Zero emotion. I'll take Murray Perahia over this guy any day of the week.

  • @hrysivjt67 you are so fucking stupid

  • @SuckerSove You're right. I was pissed off when I wrote that. But I still prefer Murray Perahia...which is not the same as saying he's better, which I don't think he is.

  • excellent performance! lov it!

  • Best version on youtube in my opinion!!

  • As a pianist for the last 20 years, I have never come remotely close to anything like this. But then I don't practise enough so....

    This dude is the shiznit.

  • 4:11 to the end, aaaaahh magical.

  • the organs I would sell to have a concert grand piano in my house...

  • .. just saw Yundi at Carnegie hall. He was incredible.

  • Magnificent interpretation!!!!!!!!!

  • holy jumping fucking shitballs !

  • my heart was in my mouth

    that was amazing!!

    did you see his HANDS!!!??

  • This is the kind of performance you realise, by the end, that you had your jaw dropped all along and got hold yourself not to applaud the monitor :-)

  • Great performance. Mastering the trills on this is a task in itself.

  • hahaha, fucking jealous...

  • Grandios

    Friedhelm

  • much better than Kissin

  • @eralddhimitri I totally disagree.(I don't like Kissin) I'm talking about this piece only.

  • Great performance...

  • you know what:

i think we shouldn't have to pick the best pianoist. I like Li's, Kissin's, and Lisitsa's intrepretation of this song. They all have their own styles of playing.

    Kissin has the speed,

    Lisitsa has the gracefulness,

And Li's would have the constancy

So, no. i have no favorite for they all are teriffic players ;)

  • Yes, you are right, music is not a competition, stop looking for the best, just enjoy the music!!

  • I loved his Chopin Concerto No.1 with Andrew Davis , but I dunno is it the recording problem , this is the sloppiest version I have heard

  • Really Awesome!!!

  • I find 4:00 to be such an anti-climax.

  • lol how so, i think its a huge climax to a ccliffhanger!!

  • I sure he had wrong note at the past, but still fantastic.

  • if i could play half as well as this i'd quit my day job! :)

  • and i'd quit mine to be your manager :D

  • and if i could play a tenth as well i wouldn't even consider to look for a job :)

  • I think I heard only 1 wrong note in all the piece and I'm noy even sure o.0 Amazing Li

  • Absolutely fantastic!!!

  • O M G

  • i really admire 2:46 and after, because he can play incrediably fast on the right hand and keep the left hand under control!

  • O-M-G o.o

  • omg the end whas AWESOMMEEEE!!!

  • wow...the end is stunning

  • LOVE IT!!!!! From 4:10 to the end was BEAUTIFUL! :)

  • Loved it but 3:24 gave me chills and loved 4:10 to the end amazing job

  • 3.24 is my favourite part too ...

  • OMG! Note 2:38 of video.

  • He starts a little bit too slowly and the staccatos in the begin are not in harmony with the slow tempo. But later, the performance gets better and the end is excellent.

  • Don't you think yo're being a little overliy critical? Surely a pianist of his calibre played this piece exactly the way he wanted it to sound.

  • Well said.

  • The best of this music!

  • i am to make this man my boyfran. :]

  • This guy is good, the re-incarnation of Campanella in Chinese form.

It wish it was played a little faster. The interpretation is exactly in mind.

  • ´hammer. einfach das geilste stück ever. exzellent gespielt

  • His fingers are insane (And I mean in the best way possible)!!!! :O''' *stares at screen...

  • Now that is a very powerful play by mister Li. Thanks for sharing ~

  • I had the Privilege to see both Lang Lang and Yundi li they both will knock your socks off, they are both truly great

  • some may think the "best in the world" is too heavy of a title.

but you can go watch the other world-class pianists on youtube playing the same song, and see how they interpret the music. there are hardly any pianist who can play with great "style"(besides kissin, but kissin's style is a lil different to yundi's). playing at this level requires so much more than just "fluency". of course, not all the worlds best pianists are on youtube. but yundi li is definitely one of the best

  • 3:06!!!

  • that's just so awesome. i dreamt i could play like him

  • lang lang is better

  • I wrote that comment long time ago, I didn´t knew too much about them.

They are both very good in their own way.

Lang Lang is more a bravour/vitous, while Yundi is more gentle and calm. It is like Liszt/Chopin.

  • @estudiosinluz How /dare/ you describe yundi and lang lang as liszt and chopin. And how dare anyone give you thumbs up for it.

  • music played well makes people who don't play the instrument wish they could!

wishing i could play piano now ...

  • this is amazing. even though i listen to rap this is still crazy. too bad i never could get into playing something, i just listen.

  • da best o de best man woooooooo ye. ( I admir you woooooooooooooooo.)

  • yundi li is the best pianist in the world

if there's a person who is object to this, the person has a complex

  • O_o fabulous

  • truthfully, yundi li is the best not because I am a chinese but because of reality. He enjoy playing piano, music is his life.

  • to vanvanss:

The best? what did you mean? Best of China, maybe? He might be the best for you because you don't know anybody.

  • what do you mean?

he is the best of the world, he deserves the title by now.

  • agreed, he is the best :O

  • i assume you know "somebody" then, tell me names of your so-called "best" pianists in the world. and you better impress me

  • there are great pianists who prove to be the "the best" by being great performers for decades...

Now, for how many years Yundi li was on the stage, and tell me about Yundi li repertoire compare to Richter, Horowitz, Gilels, Ashkenazy...etc.

His performance of La Campanella is fine, but its not enough...to be the best.

  • No pianist will ever be the best then...even your Richter, Horowitz, Gilels, Ashkenazy, etc. IMO you are just reciting famous names and names only at that.

  • That's right...No pianist will ever be the best!!!

That why naming young pianist as THE BESAT IN THE WORLD is simply ridiculers...give him some time, in 10-15 years he might become one of the top pianists.
