However to everyone having trouble there is a compatibility issue with WINDOWS 7 and HTC drivers that's why you get the "your device is not connected message" I had to do this on a friends computer running WINDOWS XP and it worked like a charm, just download the drivers on his blog.

I have been trying to use this method, but as soon as I this ruu causes the phone to go into bootloader, windows installs the android bootloader driver and replaces the My Evo driver. Have you ever seen this?
@zedomax People this works! He doesn't say you have to uninstall the driver he just says to make sure that it says My HTC. Wow, this was completely easy! I had been researching and trying different methods and people neglected to say to use Fastboot then connect it to your computer. That's truly an important step. Then it will say FastbootUSB. HELPPPP i uninstall the htc bootloader driver then unplug and when i plug back in in reinstalls and when i try to update driver to my htc it just says windows thinks the driver is already up to date

@killer2674 I had same problem, I fixed it by going to device manger, intead of "My HTC" it should be like "HTC Bootloader" if I recall it, it this is causing problem to fix this you need to update driver, download driver from this link user provided in his blog, and browse the file manually, than click on "let me pick from the list of devices.." if in that list you don't see "My HTC" click on "Have Disk.." again click "Browse" on that little window and nagivate folder n select "andriodusb" ok
@d0nunit ran out of characters .... so after selecting "andriodusb" file click ok and on next widow click "My HTC" from the pick list and click ok you are good to go... make sure to close and report that ruu exe file

I used Unrevoked to root but NOT Unrevoked Forever. Can I use this method to unroot? The problem I'm having is, I installed the "Apps2SD Patch" and now none of my apps on the SD Card show up in the App menu, even though the camera/music are reading from the card. Also, the phone won't let me install any new apps or update any old ones. I added a new SD card and had the same problem so I'm sure it's a problem with the phone since I added that patch. Hi my charging port is broken so I cannot connect my Evo to my computer; is there a way to just do it only on the phone itself through flashing the recovery from the sd card? I did not use the Unrevoked method to root.

@ahmedyehia82 - Go to the HTC site and download the current version on HTC Sync (_3.0.5511.exe) and load it on your laptop/computer. The Device manager should show 'My HTC' and the RUU program should run without any errors. I hope this helps.

@fastenal812 I think it will reset back to sprint, if you know how to flash it back to your provider, I would do it, otherwise perhaps better to not do it. Use your common sense! :)

@fastenal812 1) shouldn't so long as original was from Sprint and you are trying to get it back to sprint 2) Could fix your issues so long as its not a hardware issue. Couldnt hurt to try.
I can't get the file to download (I even joined this stupid download site). I have trided files like this before and I always get an error message. I would really like to try this one (as I am having all sorts of proplems with lags and hesitations, Titanium backup has left me with a hodge-podge of rom parts.

2)ive had my evo since the day they came out. i rooted it with your original video like 2 days later. i never unlocked nand and have been using rom manager to do everything. Im running cyanogenmod 6.1.2. my evo isnt recognizing my sd card so i cant flash another rom from recovery on the phone. would this unrooting and rerooting process fix my issue or should i try another one of your videos?

@fastenal812 1) shouldn't so long as original was from Sprint and you are trying to get it back to sprint 2) Could fix your issues so long as its not a hardware issue. Couldnt hurt to try.

I can't get the file to download (I even joined this stupid download site). I have trided files like this before and I always get an error message. I would really like to try this one (as I am having all sorts of proplems with lags and hesitations, Titanium backup has left me with a hodge-podge of rom parts.
Is there a mirror site for this?
