hmm that problem with word arrangements of COMPUTER where even positions are vowels.... The question simplifies to this: If you have 3 vowels OUE how many different 4-letter arrangements can you create? I don't think 4! is the answer. That seems undoable unless you repeat a vowel OOUE. In that case it would be 4!/2! for the repeated vowel. Maybe the original question had a typo.
