It's amazing how Senator fans are blind to how much of a weasel Alfredsson is. I can't say I respect guys like Matt Cooke or Trevor Gillies, but at least their fans don't pretend that they're classy. Alfredsson is the kind of player that tries to hurt others, then puts on an innocent mask of bewilderment when accused of playing dirty. I can understand the fans liking him for all the good things he does, but to call him "classy" is a very big stretch to say the least.

I may be biased because I'm Swedish and from Gothenburg as well but there is no denying Alfie's wristshot is deadly. Sure, it's not as flashy as Ovi but Aflie is not a flashy guy, he is a true team player and leads by example. He is in my mind the most underrated player in the NHL for all that he carries on and off the ice.

The 1,000th game tribute against Buffalo was a very nice gesture for the greatest player in Ottawa Senators franchise history. I can't wait to see Alfie in the HHOF, in Toronto, for all the Leafs fans to see. That will be golden.

Alfie is a first class bum....from his wind up slapshot on niedemyer in the playoffs to his from beind hits on tucker etc...this guy will never lead his team to stanley cup as he has shown th elast 10 years....don't hold your breath on Spezza either, he's a first class barb and choker!!!

I remember seeing him in real life once. He walks by at the petrol station and we were about 4-5 guys standing by the shop and someone says "I think that was Daniel Alfredsson". Everyone turns around and we dont want to go and ask so we wait until he comes out. When he comes out we just stand there saring like idoits and he says "Hallå gänget". He was really nice we stod and had a conversation for about 30 seconds and then he left.

He is really underated here in sweden, almost everyone knows who Peter Forsberg is same ithe Sundin, A few others might have heard of Lidstrom, But Daniel is not that known back in sweden compared to how good he is

This guy is my idol. If I was an NHL player, I would want to be him, #11 with the crazy hair. Still remember watching him playing with Yashin. Then, afterwards, took over as captain. That year when they had the best season in the league with Chara, Philips, Redden, Hossa, Havlat, and Spezza, really should have taken the cup. FULL RESPECT to Ottawa's Captain.
