To the idiots who think this is in the style of AC/DC, learn about music a little more, this song sounds nothing like them. I know, I have every album and I listen to them every day, this is in the style similar to Motley Crüe, or Quiet Riot or some other Hair Glam Rock band. AC/DC Is hard rock/ Blues.
@xx2n23 This is very close to a number of AC/DC songs. Even Weird Al can't do Brian Johnson's singing, but it's definitely a style parody of AC/DC. Listen to the Back In Black album and you'll hear it.
@irishninja19801 I always figured this was due to the song Big Gun that was released on the Last Action Hero soundtrack the same summer as Jurassic Park. It seemed pretty timely.
Do any of you fools listen to the lyrics? This song makes fun of metalheads. Or at least of wannabe bad asses who are metalhead/rockers. It`s not about a band gomers.
Thats one of the things i always enjoyed about Weird Al. Is that with each of his albums,he not only had parodies, but like 2 - 3 original tunes aswell.
@StayUgly Yes they do you fool its part of their look. Look at any picture from Motley Crue in their Girls Girls Girls era and I assure they're wearing leather.
@Skutnikman It's obviously making fun of Motley Crue. Listen to Vince Neil's voice and then listen to this. Weird Al is defiently trying to impersonate Vince Neil's high pitched voice. As for the style of the song, you have to remember that in the early 90's (when this song was recorded and released) there were many glam bands ripping off AC/DC and Van Halen. So yes while this song is in the style of AC/DC it is actually a parody of all the second rate glam bands in the early 90's.
@sonicmario64 According to Al in his interview with the AV Club: Ah, that was supposed to be my big parody of heavy metal in general and AC/DC specifically. Listening to it is a little difficult, because I recorded it in a register that was really too high for my singing voice, but my manager thought that it was funny that I was cracking my voice trying to reach the notes—which for some people, I guess it would be, but it doesn’t get a lot of repeat listening.
