The quran is regarded by Muslim as the Completion of all religion It does not dispute autheticity of Chistianity and Judaism. It teaches us what other religions have not promoted. The Qur'an is about universal brotherhood--but only among those who worship Allah and embrace Islam and its "holy" book. It is not a universal brotherhood that includes anyone else. In Surah 8:12 it says: "I [Allah] will cast a terror into the hearts of the non-believers. So chop on their necks, and chop off every finger from them."

@CautiousSaint Your are not proving that the Qur'an spreads hate but you are rather exposing the little knowledge you have of Islam. The verse you have quoted is a favorite of the critics of Islam. However, all they are doing is picking verses out of context. If you read the whole verse (which im sure you have not done) you will find out that this is only to boost the moral of Muslim soldiers in a specific battle: the battle of Badr.

For Surah 5:51 declares the Muslim is NOT to take Jews and Christians (Nasara) as friends. It says that those Muslims who befriend Jews and Christians are "of them", not with Islam. Allah does not guide the unjust people who befriend Jews and Christians. Please read the Qur'an.
