  • Hmm. Interesting. Do you happen to know when this was filmed? In my head I had the impression that Bream always played this piece slowly as in the famous recording. By the way, I really love the tempo he has chosen in the video. Thank you!

  • When Weiss died they wrote on his grave as epitaph: "Only Silvius shall play the lute!"

So too, when Bream passes on (and may that day never arrive), they shall verily say: "Only Julian shall play the guitar!"

  • he must play black metal oh yea

  • stupid cameraman? why? would you want to see his legs??

  • a minute of brilliance.

  • This man is a genius

  • There are none better.

  • RESPECT

  • Julian Bream stil the king of the guitar

  • @VickGuitar77: We guitarists want to see the hands at all times, but non guitarists would be pretty bored. ^^

  • i fuckin love youtube. gonna have to tattoo it sooner or later

  • Amen

  • I love this work. Stupid cameraman though. We want to see his hands at all times.

  • this is the definative version of the century

  • Absolutely brilliant! Julian Brean is one of a kind. Thanks for posting.

  • Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavo!

    (Nothing more to be said.)

  • Holas, yo creo que Julian Bream es el Dios de la guitarra...........El interpreta todo a la perfeccion, y se adapta a la pieza que toca como si se trasportara a la epoca en que se escribio la obra..

  • Exactamente! He has an uncanny ability to find whatever music is in the piece and brings it to life.

  • the best master

  • er bwv...

  • starting at 0:53, he plays a really cool passage. Is this entire 1 minute piece from BMV998? I'm trying to find some tabulator for it as i write this.

  • I find this particular peice of music quite startling, interesting, amazing and most enchanting - I Love Julian Bream - As an arist I find Julian looks just like JS Bach in the painting of Bach holding a piece of paper (composition)in his hand.

    Thank you for posting

  • yea jules!!!

  • i believe this was before he got into a car accident

  • When was that? Do you know?

  • In 1984 Breams arm was seriously injured in a car accident. It cost him great effort to regain his previous technical ability. (wikipedia)

  • Wow, I didn't know Julian Bream had a robotic left hand! lol. What a technichally sound player he truly is.

  • He had a very individualized technique... I've always thought it was because of his lute playing that his left had looked like that, but of course I could be wrong.

  • Thank you for this video !

    Grazie !
