The beauty of the story is the love between different people. Hawkeye a white man raised as Indian and Cora who is part afro-caribbean and Alice and Uncas a white woman and an Indian man. awesome video. :))

Anybody notice in the movie which you find on DVD now does not have this song? The director's cut that you find everywhere has a whole bunch of extra scenes that mess with the flow and absent a soundtrack like this makes it less of a movie. Pretty sad.

Great film. beautifully shot, nice sound score, wonderful acting, especially Daniel Day Lewis (Hawkeye) and Wes Studi (Magua). Complicated plot though, sometimes hard to follow. I grew up in Upstate New York, where the film is set, although it was filmed in North Carolina. We had to read the source book in high school, "The Last of The Mohicans" by James Fenimore Cooper

i've always said that this movie as a whole is 2nd to none! in the images they use and the music composed especially for this film combine to make as a whole one of the best movies ever made. it also boasts some very strong actors in daniel-day lewis, madeline stowe, wes studi, and to me the performance of uncas by Eric Schweig and Russell Means as Chingachgook steal the show. this movie has always been in my top 3 and ive seen it so many times yet still look foreward to watching it again!
