Cool! I got a Japan made RG570 as well, the feel on the neck is awesome! Unfortunately mine got a slight problem on the neck, i couldn't get the strings to its lowest action. My question is, where can i get an original replacement neck? & How do you determine what year an RG570 was made?

I recently bought an RG570 from 1991. It costed me $375 but man... this guitar was then worth about 5 times more, when it was made, and it deserves to cost that. These guitars will soon be like white crows. I bought it and I was really surprised with her sound, playability and overall QUALITY, built to last forever! Cheers!
I paid £499 (about 1000$ US at the time) in 1992 for mine. I still have it and play it all the time. They are great guitars. I put a dimarzio multi-bucker in the bridge pickup to add flexibility and some gain.
SOunds fantastic even now and the neck is still one of the easiest to play fast I've ever tried. The yamaha RGs from the same period were better necks but the RG570 has lasted me close on 20 years. I really fancy a Parker Fly now. It's been 20 years. I deserve a new guitar....
Great buy man I found one of those Gibson Charvel Limited editions in a pawn shop for about $300 but I had just bought an old Kramer so that mad me a little mad that I could no longer afford it by the time I went back it was gone
That is a hell of guitar and the price... I've seen one for sale, I don't know the year, but it was a red 570 with red triangle inlays in a maple fretboard and the guy wanted 500$ and it didn't look half as good as yours! I don't know about yours, but the necks on more recent 570's are the same as on the Satriani models. I've got one on my guitar and they are awesome! Happy playing, dude!

The JS (Satriani model) have completely different necks than the RG models. RG570s were either wizard1 or super wizard, depending on year. JS models have compound radii and are thicker are the 12th fret.
If the RG570 you saw had a maple neck and triangular inlays, then you either saw a different guitar (possibly a jem), or saw an rg570 with a replacement neck.
Guess we're all getting deals. I think may have the biggest gem of all though. 1989 RG570 with Seymour Duncan Screamin Demon in the bridge, 59N in the neck, no rust, no fret buzz, no fret wear, some scuffed up paint. Oh and no pitting on the trem it was like it was completely untouched all for a nice Benjamin Franklin :)
@1996door I don't think so see Video at 44 second mark neck clearly says Made in Japan -- I think the new ones are Made in Indonesa or China but nt the old ones -- Charles
@CTubeTV As far as i know, the ones from 1996 until 2002 were made in china before they stopped making them. The new rg 1570 are still made in japan i believe

Cool. Well done. I got a USA made Hamer Daytona at a pawn shop for $155 about a year ago. The guy had booked it as a Korean one. Sold it for $750. Also found a Rivera era 'Super Champ' at the same pawn shop, the splitter tube in it was bad rendering the reverb and distortion inoperable. He had it marked on the floor at $75, I pointed out the issues and got him down to $50, including the tax. Replaced the one tube and sold it for $750. A good month.
that looks like an 02. the serial # says F025769. the first 2 numbers in it always meen the year of production i have a 98 570. and the forst 2 numbers are 98 same with my 08 1527
ibanez acoustics suck,just make sure u buy a guitar that have tuning pegs that look like stds and not round cuz the rounds one cause the tuning peds to come up

I snagged a black 550 ( 2002 ) for 175.00 plus 25.00 for hard case from CL . its was like new , still had plastic on covers and all . its my main guitar now . I Love it .
I snagged a nickel gray 570 in original good condition V8 V7 S1 with a few nicks here or there from the original owner showing he paid 680 new in 2000, for 200 bucks, total steal. and the music and video you posted sucks by the way. peace.

AANJ,all access neck joints came out in 93,470's came with trs trems,500 series and up all came with edge and low pro edge trems till 03,and edge pros came in them.470s still sport trs trems though.Check out myn on my page,550's though,570s are routed on the bottom,550s on top,thats about the biggest difference.All awesome guitars.
Also 470's didnt come with a barrel jack,its a bracket jack,basicly barrel sits flush with the body,and the 470 has a bracket with 2 screws that anchor it to the body.If you put an edge trem @ barrel jack in its basicly a 570.

Nice catch. I've always felt bad going to pawn shops, though. Like I'm taking joy from other people's desperation. And just being inside of a pawn shop makes my gut instinct tell me to turn around and leave.
I bought an RG42DX white with gold hardware scalloped frets and Dave Mustaine pickups for only $400 bucks. It's ridiculous how much guitars can be under priced.
i had a rg 565, got it new in 92. it had H/S/S pickups give $800 for it. best damn guitar i ever had. stupid me traded it for a rg470 that was green and had shark tooth inlay. man did i burn my self BADDDD.

It was made at the fujigen plant that is what the f in the serial number stands for.I also bought a 1990 RG550 from the pawn shop for 140 .

i snagged almost as good a deal as u pal,
i got a midnight metalic blue 89 Ibanez 570 with a hardshell case for 240$
it needed cleaning and had a few "played" marks on it but it sounds great and cleaned up good.

no clue what kind of shop that is but I have that exact guitar, bought it 6 or 7 years ago in Siena for 500 euros, same colour, only different thing, mine is for lefties :) amazing axis!

dude at a pawn shop... nice... i saw a synyster gates custom at a pawn shop for $350 but it was missing the oick ups and it had the bridge system of the zv custom

i got the same thing from a friend for $110 with EMG's. its a 1991 model and its dark blue. beautiful guitar, i love it!

sweet! i just got an early 90s rg470 for $120. i think mine is basically the same except i have no matching headstock. maybe the trem is different too. does yours have a contour neck joint?

AANJ,all access neck joints came out in 93,470's came with trs trems,500 series and up all came with edge and low pro edge trems till 03,and edge pros came in them.470s still sport trs trems though.Check out myn on my page,550's though,570s are routed on the bottom,550s on top,thats about the biggest difference.All awesome guitars.

Also 470's didnt come with a barrel jack,its a bracket jack,basicly barrel sits flush with the body,and the 470 has a bracket with 2 screws that anchor it to the body.If you put an edge trem @ barrel jack in its basicly a 570.

Nice catch. I've always felt bad going to pawn shops, though. Like I'm taking joy from other people's desperation. And just being inside of a pawn shop makes my gut instinct tell me to turn around and leave.

I bought an RG42DX white with gold hardware scalloped frets and Dave Mustaine pickups for only $400 bucks. It's ridiculous how much guitars can be under priced.

i got mine new in 90-91
almost 1000.00 with hard shell case
and i had to set it up, the shop had the action to high!
love mine highly recommend a older mint or near mint rg ,or jem!- love the thin wizard necks

i had a rg 565, got it new in 92. it had H/S/S pickups give $800 for it. best damn guitar i ever had. stupid me traded it for a rg470 that was green and had shark tooth inlay. man did i burn my self BADDDD.

Thanks for the comment-- I just got in a 1990 squire floyd rose series mij and it only has 22 frets but it play almost as good as my 570 I wonder if it made by the same company that made Ibanez it even has a pointy headstock reverse type -- I put a video as soon as i have time -- Charles
