Unfortunately you blocked me some time ago for correcting you on actual facts and called me a troll. I was pretty annoyed as I run the UK's biggest Atari show Jagfest UK, moderate several forums, write for a leading retro magazine and am one of the most widely respected people in the Atari community. I only ever correct people if they are wrong and always hope they take it the right way. Sorry you didn't but no hard feelings. Keep up the good work

@Metalitron12 My method for dealing with the trolls these days is to reply to their comment, telling them what I think of their "opinion." They'll see this in their inbox. I then block them and delete both their comment and my reply to it, so no-one else need be bothered by the exchange.

My accent comes from the English south midlands... on the Northamptonshire/Buckinghamshi­re border. I live further north now, and it kinda stands out a bit up here :)

Just seen this video as ive had some catching up to do. I find some people just think their own opinion is fact and everyone else is wrong and wont discuss it but will just argue and insult. Its very irritating I know what you mean. Also I think some people are what I call arm chair experts and have to be and expert on everything and everyone else is wrong unless you agree with them. This happens especially online I find but totally agree with you on all you said.

I'm with you. I've seen loads of these people who whilst trying to appear reasonable always throw in a dig here and a dig there. I'm going to call it being a dick head by stealth. And every time you check their "channel" you'll almost always find they haven't got the balls to put their egos on line by uploading a video.

Hi Steve, I've only had minor experiences of the type you describe, but I can understand how it could get annoying if it happens often. I'd agree that blocking those who make their negative intentions apparent is probably the way to go. Ranting? No problem. We all need to get it out of our system every now and then. :) Ray

Even if you made a vid & done nothing (like Garth in Waynes World lol) because on Ballance your vids are: what i consider What YouTube is ment for, it wasnt ment for trolls and the like. Plus, i have to be positive because i feel it would be Hypocritical for me to slag any vid off as i dont make any.

If they are like most trolls chances are they don't post any videos of their own. There are exceptions but it has been my experience that mainly those who can do. Those who can't attack those who can.

That's not to say that all trolls rip tv shows, or all people who rip tv shows are trolls... or whatever... but yes, it's very rare that a troll has quality self made content on their channel.

Yep that is very true, it used to really get me until I found 90% off those who post annoying or down right nasty comments in on your video or in your profile have no videos of their own, or they might have 1 or 2 generally stupid videos. Also, when I check their channel most of the time they have a long list of comments in their channel from people they have obviously pissed off so that just shows what their mission is her on Youtube.

Trolling annoys me beyond belief. I've never had it happen to me personally but it still really really gets my goat when I see it happening. From BBSs, IRC, Online Forums, MMO's and YouTube etc.. it's everywhere - the list is endless. Sadly, you just can't get away from it. It really is a shame as it drives people away from doing what they like, and stops people from opening dialogue with others for fear of being shot down without reason.

I think when you put yourself out in the public eye, you're going to get that sort of reaction from people. I get these trolls all the time too. I'm pretty sure we all do.
