@hafs0l Good for you - it's hard for us pilots to see and hear these stories of guys like Shaun, also my age when he passed - it gives deep introspection but the joy that flying brings to me and my family out weights the risks, not much more than a motorcyle ride or a trip down the freeway these days. Good luck on your aviation dreams, go get em! And RIP Shaun, you made us proud as pilots even if we never met....

Shaun Lunt was a young man from California who did many wonderful things in his short life. He was a climber, a pilot, a cyclist, outdoorsman, photographer and doctor of medicine. He was killed in Alaska several years ago in a plane crash flying his super cub. He was an inspiration. God bless. You may find some of his photography on the net.
You're very blessed to have had a best friend like Shaun. I wish I could have met the man. I know of him only through what I believe is his father in law who is a member of the Spyderco forums. I think it is his father in law, maybe it is his uncle. God be with you. Shaun is with Him.
Yesterday I drove from Santa Barbara to Ventura and saw a female driving a convertible with the license plate N897SP. As a female pilot, I thought perhaps she was a local 99. After some research I found this tribute to the owner of N897SP. Shaun's pictures of Alaska are fabulous...and I was able to view a wonderful life of someone I have never met.
Viewing this video truel reveals what a wonderful and joyfilled life he had, he's done so much in such a short time, I envy him for that, he's really had the greatest life a person could have and he lived for his passion.
Thanks, it speaks. Tears man. If only all of us could have such a life that was so alive!
Shaun was a gift to many, many more than we might ever know. He had a purpose here most of would never understand. I envy you for knowing in person. I never made it there. All I have this . And this is amazing. Thank you.
Truly a great pilot died doing what he loved :')
