  • Truly a great pilot died doing what he loved :')

  • Don't tell me he had a kid... That would be even worse :(

  • what a beautiful soul. i did not know him, but his incredible work has inspired me to pursue my dreams of flying

  • @hafs0l Good for you - it's hard for us pilots to see and hear these stories of guys like Shaun, also my age when he passed - it gives deep introspection but the joy that flying brings to me and my family out weights the risks, not much more than a motorcyle ride or a trip down the freeway these days. Good luck on your aviation dreams, go get em! And RIP Shaun, you made us proud as pilots even if we never met....

  • Looks like he lived large while he was here making the best of every day!

  • Shaun Lunt was a young man from California who did many wonderful things in his short life. He was a climber, a pilot, a cyclist, outdoorsman, photographer and doctor of medicine. He was killed in Alaska several years ago in a plane crash flying his super cub. He was an inspiration. God bless. You may find some of his photography on the net.

  • You're very blessed to have had a best friend like Shaun. I wish I could have met the man. I know of him only through what I believe is his father in law who is a member of the Spyderco forums. I think it is his father in law, maybe it is his uncle. God be with you. Shaun is with Him.

  • i dont no who this person is but it looks like he had a good life but will some one tell who he is

  • Yesterday I drove from Santa Barbara to Ventura and saw a female driving a convertible with the license plate N897SP. As a female pilot, I thought perhaps she was a local 99. After some research I found this tribute to the owner of N897SP. Shaun's pictures of Alaska are fabulous...and I was able to view a wonderful life of someone I have never met.
