The republican speaker of the house who pushed this pay raise, was hand picked by Jindal. If you look at his ethics bill you will find out, it is now almost impossible to are do anything to them.

He preached "ethics reform" ad nauseum, then as soon as he was in office he did the exact opposite by bowing to the crooked legislators.
I made up my mind about him long before he was in office. I don't have to give up on him, because I saw him for the power-hungry, empty politician he is from the very beginning. No one can ever blame me for this jackass being in office. They can blame idiots like you. You are the reason we should have IQ requirements for voter registration.

They all have 'regular' jobs - the legislature is a part time job. Most of them are lawyers or are in business.

He is letting so many new laws go into place, it is dictatorship ,,"Governor" bobby jindal signs over 75 bills into law. An other laws just slip into place with him doing nothing. At a mere 5 years of age he changed his name from Piyush to Bobby (from "The Brady Bunch" yet)so that he could better fit in with the white good ole boys of the state. He then changed his religion from Hindu to Catholic. He'd cut off his dick for a vote! The bunch of idiots and criminals known as the LA legislature votes themselves a huge pay raise, and meanwhile South Louisiana still does not have any better hurricane protection than it did when Katrina hit, there has been no effort to re-establish a teaching hospital or VA hospital in New Orleans, and the Claiborne Ave. bridge has become a homeless city.

I also voted for Bobby Jindal. I want to sign the petition and pass it around. I believe he should have kept his word about ethic reform and no raises for the legislature. We have to start making all politicians accountable for their actions.

Jindal says he won't let the legislators stop reforms, that they have actuallly threatened him with this action--isn't this usually called blackmail? If Louisiana is trying to push for ethics, shouldn't that include not giving in to blackmail?

A recall petition was filed with the Secretary of State on Friday (June 27). The governor replied with a statement:
"The voters of our state are angry that the legislature more than doubled their own pay and I agree with them. It was excessive and they should reverse it. I'm sure more voters will take extraordinary steps to show their anger over the pay raise before this is all said and done - that's how a democracy works."

The republican speaker of the house who pushed this pay raise, was hand picked by Jindal. If you look at his ethics bill you will find out, it is now almost impossible to are do anything to them.
