  • Saw the Ultimate Adventure at Oxford Apollo theatre. I remember Jon made a joke about Daleks conquering the universe with nothing more than an egg whisk. Also, everyone appreciated his much repeated phrase "Reverse the polarity of the neutron flow".

  • Best Doctor Ever!

  • wtf i had no idea he could vary his voices

  • He Was So Ausome!

  • RIP jon pertwee

  • he is so funny rip hes so amzing

  • What a typical English Gentleman !

What ever happened to English and Americans with this type of class ? Everytime I see an old interview with somewon like him it reminds me of how much English Speaking culture has deteriarated. Our mainstram media has much to blame.

  • I didn't know comic relief was going that many years ago!! Does anyone know wot year it started?

  • loved john pertwee as a child thanks!

  • great voice!!

  • What a lovely man. A real gentleman!

  • Wonderful Doctor.

  • WT*, When did he die-no?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • @jushayward

    Back in May 1996

  • @MarkR06 -Thanks- I saw him at the Essex Show many years ago when he was the Doctor, he was driving that old looking car he used to drive in one of the shows.

  • His voice is such a cliche now. RIP Jon Pertwee

  • Among his many talents, quite the raconteur, judging from this.

  • R.I.P old friend

  • The best Dr ever.

    ATVmidlandsUK

  • legend

  • Great character actor and an amazing guy. Wish I'd met him!

  • no wonder boring old perv Wogan didn't want Jon to talk about Worzel Gummidge that was an ITV show wasn't it? Wogan just wanted to discuss the BBCs Doctor Who

  • @NikkiClo That's not fair at all. He is promoting the Dr Who stage play here and they do discuss Worzel Gummidge. Search Jon Pertwee on Parkinson in 1980 on here, again on the BBC, and they discuss Worzel Gummidge and don’t mention Dr Who once!

  • Jon Pertwee was and still is GREAT.

  • The best Dr end of..... Simply Great bloke!

  • because john pertwee was the BEST dr who and what memories he brings back

  • I loved the rapore that he and Pat troughton had they were so funny but they loved each other

  • I met Mister Pertwee and Sylvester McCoy in Atlanta, GA about 2 years before this interview was done. They were there with the traveling Doctor Who exibit. Wonderful fellows.

  • My next best favourite to Tom Baker.

  • @Agui007 sacrilege!! no one is better even though Tennant is as good different but as good.

  • RIP loved him as worzel :-)

  • I wouldnt mind having that coat that he wears over his jacket.

  • 70 wow..

  • You know, apparently I'm the first to say this here but he was almost 70 when he gave this interview and he looks hardly a day older then when he played the Doctor. He's one of my favorite Doctors by the way and his series were the first classic Doctor Who series I watched (or rather am watching)

  • I don't care what anyone says... He was the best Doctor, had the best story lines, and Jo was the most bangworthy assistant ever...!!!

  • He was the most badass as well. But tom baker was just as good.

  • woah i freaked out when his voice changed to normal, its sooo different! i would use the worzel voice all the time lol

  • I can't believe he's dead :,[

  • @SaltyTestes It's just because I used to watch all of his episodes when I was a child and he was my idol. Now he's dead, just hard to believe, the daleks couldn't even put an end to him.

  • I agree with you. But I can't give you a thumbs up 'cos they've been greyed out. Seems that when you get six thumbs down you don't get a chance to be redeemed!

  • @NinjaMatie Hes DEAD

  • @allen3601 faggot

  • he was a wonderful person and a very tlented actor!!-i cant believe he's dead.(RIP)

  • Chill out!! Of course we cant belive hes dead!!

  • He was a Biker and a very brilliant actor.. I miss the shit out of him, they are few and far between these nice blokes...Aunt Sally is lonely

  • During his time as the doctor i was a kid walked into a shop in Twickenham and he saw i was dumb struck and said hello my dear boy do you watch Dr. who. he didnt have to talk to me lovely man then years later during the show hes talking about in a chinese in oxford i wished him good evening and he struck up a little conversation. A talent and a Gentleman! missed! His son is a fine actor to!

  • RIP Worzel Gummidge xx

  • What a lovely man.

    RIP

  • Trust Wogan not to know that Pertwee hadn't met Cybermen.

  • But he did in the Five Doctors in 1983!

  • Yes, but Wogan says "In your time", so he's referring to the 1970-1974 period rather than the 5 docs.

  • Of course!

  • Only 2 guys in history could get away with crushed purple velvet jackets and frilly shirts.... Jimi Hendrix and Mr Pertwee!!

  • It kind of surprises me that Mr. Pertwee didn't mention that he designed and built the hovercraft himself.

  • R.I.P We Miss You Jon Pertwee You Were The Best

    Jennifer xx

  • i know youre not going to believe this, i know but he was my great uncle x

  • Cool...I'd want the the world to know if I was related to JP! Why shouldn't I believe you?

  • because most people dont, its frustrating

  • Proud to be a Pertwee, Acting must be in your blood, you could be a future Dr.Who!

  • Jon Pertwee is the one I think about when I hear Dr Who. I wonder what he would think of today's Dr. Who! I would love to have met him, those who did are so fortunate.

  • he was my great uncle, i am 14 but i never met him

  • It's too bad you never met him, I interviewed on the phone once. I also met him at some conventions in Chicago. He was a nice man.

  • @tLlXenonFire AWESOME!

  • He actually did a stage show of Doctor Who at His Majesty's Theatre in Aberdeen, it was very good. After the show we went to the stage door to get autographs and I think I was lucky enough to get an autograph.

  • A true British legend and a Gentleman .

  • Jon Pertwee - lovely bloke!

  • this is so funny! really good humour :D

i like his voices that he can do!

very good story teller-i got his depford mice audio book with him doing all the voices and stuff--jons fantastic!

  • Yep, That would have been the 'Beanshoot' Chinese restaraunt in Allerton. He was at the Garden Festival then

  • met him in restaraunt in liverpool 1985 a gentleman r.i.p.

  • lol what a wonderful guy, and much missed

  • I wish someone would think of a way to introduce someone who plays the Doctor, without them coming out of the TARDIS. He should have come in riding Bessie.

  • The older Sean Pertwee gets the more he looks like Jon.

  • he does worzel gummidge :) when he has that red nose on thats when he speeks it lol type in worzel gummidge and u will see his hair like straw

  • Proper English Gentry!! The BEST Doctor and the bestest scare - crow

  • what an amazing voice...

  • He was always a class act.

  • He was a very witty man in interviews, him and Tom Baker are both incredible raconteurs. I would have loved to see an interview with them both together.

  • best Doc ever

    RIP

  • Its hard to believe if he was still alive now Jon Pertwee would have been 90 on July 7th 2009. RIP.

  • jon pertwee stood on my grandad's toe once

    in africa

  • We Still Love You Man RIP.

  • He looked so funny with that red nose:))

  • he was amazing he will forever be the doc and WORZEL rip j x

  • I was always amazed how, despite his advancing age, pertwee never lost that luxuriant, thick head of hair he sported! I wonder what his daily diet consisted of?! R.I.P Jon

  • WHY HAS WORZEL GOT A RED NOSE

  • i used to have a doctor who album.i bet it would be worth a mint now,or maybe even some money.

  • jon Pertwee for the win!!!

  • RIP Jon You ROCKED !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why has Worzel got a red nose

  • It was shown on Red Nose Day 1989.

  • I'll never be able to watch the chase scenes in "Planet of the Spiders" without thinking of Pertwee nearly doing in the BBC production crew now! lol

  • jon was a legend nice to see the acting goes on with his son sean

  • oh my od. WOGAN WAS SHITE! you get a guy on like jon pertwee (not a fan, just stumbld on this by chance) who by all accounts is a fascinatng, intelligent and witty man, who i bet you just listen to AND talk to, and this great irish twit of a bore donst even interact ONCE. he looks a audience then straight into another question (scripted too no doubt) shame on you wogan, how you ever held that mantle i never know. but i will be checkin out th gummidge dvd. tim for an adult revisist.

  • ....and just remembered, ive met the man. dressed a gummidge. !! brilliant memoryjust flashed past. he drove past on a three wheeled motorbike and gave me a lollipop at the local carnival in accrington ha. right near next door to where i live now, must have me wierd connections' head on!

  • yeah, wogan is just an appalling person, should be strung up with piano wire

  • Urgh. Isn't he just? Why is Wogan still allowed on television?

Badly researched interviews annoy me also. I mean, asking him about Cybermen? What the hell? That's just crap.

To end on a pleasant note: Jon is SO lovely and randomly great at accents!

  • I Do agree,wogans full of blaney.

  • Colin Baker. The 6th Doctor

  • Thanks for up loading this. Jon was/is class. Right up there with Tom, Colin and David as one of the all time greats in the role. Only downside is that Terry is doing the interview hes an over payed/untaleted wanker.

  • 'Colin'?

  • Colin Baker. He played Doctor Who.

  • Head and shoulders above Tom and Colin, the former a frustrated monk and the latter a Fraternal reject.

  • When The Great One killed Dr Who in The Planet Of The Spiders, he turned into Tom Baker!

  • RIP JON PERTWEE

  • Rip Mate

  • RIP JON!!!

  • Bless u Jon Rip

  • Lovely to see the great Jon Pertwee on the Wogan show. He was one of my favourite Doctor's.
