Saw the Ultimate Adventure at Oxford Apollo theatre. I remember Jon made a joke about Daleks conquering the universe with nothing more than an egg whisk. Also, everyone appreciated his much repeated phrase "Reverse the polarity of the neutron flow".
What ever happened to English and Americans with this type of class ? Everytime I see an old interview with somewon like him it reminds me of how much English Speaking culture has deteriarated. Our mainstram media has much to blame.
@MarkR06 -Thanks- I saw him at the Essex Show many years ago when he was the Doctor, he was driving that old looking car he used to drive in one of the shows.
no wonder boring old perv Wogan didn't want Jon to talk about Worzel Gummidge that was an ITV show wasn't it? Wogan just wanted to discuss the BBCs Doctor Who
@NikkiClo That's not fair at all. He is promoting the Dr Who stage play here and they do discuss Worzel Gummidge. Search Jon Pertwee on Parkinson in 1980 on here, again on the BBC, and they discuss Worzel Gummidge and don’t mention Dr Who once!
I met Mister Pertwee and Sylvester McCoy in Atlanta, GA about 2 years before this interview was done. They were there with the traveling Doctor Who exibit. Wonderful fellows.
You know, apparently I'm the first to say this here but he was almost 70 when he gave this interview and he looks hardly a day older then when he played the Doctor. He's one of my favorite Doctors by the way and his series were the first classic Doctor Who series I watched (or rather am watching)

@NinjaMatie he was born in 1919. I am sure that he was just tired of all of the exposure. He died quietly while on vacation int he US. Give an old man a break. "I can't believe he is dead."? LMAO DUDE!
@SaltyTestes It's just because I used to watch all of his episodes when I was a child and he was my idol. Now he's dead, just hard to believe, the daleks couldn't even put an end to him.
I agree with you. But I can't give you a thumbs up 'cos they've been greyed out. Seems that when you get six thumbs down you don't get a chance to be redeemed!

@kenpoman100 DUDE, he was born in 1919. Are you THAT selfish that you want an OLD MAN to replay the Doctor? He would be 90 years old if he was still alive. Stop being selfish.
During his time as the doctor i was a kid walked into a shop in Twickenham and he saw i was dumb struck and said hello my dear boy do you watch Dr. who. he didnt have to talk to me lovely man then years later during the show hes talking about in a chinese in oxford i wished him good evening and he struck up a little conversation. A talent and a Gentleman! missed! His son is a fine actor to!
there's jon pertwee action figures coming out soon, you can order them exclusively online at Forbidden Planet. i'm sure you would like a little version of you're great grandad :D
Jon Pertwee is the one I think about when I hear Dr Who. I wonder what he would think of today's Dr. Who! I would love to have met him, those who did are so fortunate.
He actually did a stage show of Doctor Who at His Majesty's Theatre in Aberdeen, it was very good. After the show we went to the stage door to get autographs and I think I was lucky enough to get an autograph.
I wish someone would think of a way to introduce someone who plays the Doctor, without them coming out of the TARDIS. He should have come in riding Bessie.
He was a very witty man in interviews, him and Tom Baker are both incredible raconteurs. I would have loved to see an interview with them both together.
I was always amazed how, despite his advancing age, pertwee never lost that luxuriant, thick head of hair he sported! I wonder what his daily diet consisted of?! R.I.P Jon
oh my od. WOGAN WAS SHITE! you get a guy on like jon pertwee (not a fan, just stumbld on this by chance) who by all accounts is a fascinatng, intelligent and witty man, who i bet you just listen to AND talk to, and this great irish twit of a bore donst even interact ONCE. he looks a audience then straight into another question (scripted too no doubt) shame on you wogan, how you ever held that mantle i never know. but i will be checkin out th gummidge dvd. tim for an adult revisist.
....and just remembered, ive met the man. dressed a gummidge. !! brilliant memoryjust flashed past. he drove past on a three wheeled motorbike and gave me a lollipop at the local carnival in accrington ha. right near next door to where i live now, must have me wierd connections' head on!
