If they vamped this up, helicopter resque teams can dump loads of these buggers down the side of the mountain. Programmed to avoid eachother and search everywhere on the way down, they'd make an effecient searching and finding tool.

Or, even better, you could replace the scies with roller skates or water skies.

Continue the good work. The more mobility types available, the better evolved our robots will be.

This is very interesting. Thanks for sharing. These are very important beginning steps. I had never thought of having a robot try to ski. Walking is such a complex process. Skiing is a good way to manage some of the same issues involving balance and movement.
