Given the American context, that there are plenty of men in New york who know the Qur'an, we should unequivocally state: as Imam Ibn Hubierah [d. 560A.H.] rahimahullah says:

They [the scholars] have complete consensus that it is not permissible for a woman to lead a man in prayer in obligatory prayers.

gaint scholars of hadith clearly say about the Umm waraqah hadith that number 1 it was to the women of the house hold who she was told to lead in prayer only number 2 the hafiz of hadith have said the chain of narrartors is weak and even contains Abd al-Rahmân b. Khallâd who is unknown therefore the isnad becomes untrustworthy do not use something extremly weak in such a matter .

May Allah guide us all to the to the right path.

Firstly it is reported in a hadith my ummah will not agree upon error. almost all scholars of th past 1400 years agreed women cant lead prayers in a mosque standing infront and leading men this is the opinion of the ijma aminah waddud has gone too far and her false is clear in face of truth.your so obssesd with femenism fair enough go do what u wnt but dnt try to drag islam into it Allah has perfected the religion!.

i have been married for over 14yr and still counting my marriage is solid and my husband doesnt bea,t yell, curse, or mistreat me nor our children. The men are the maintainers and providers of the women becuase God {Allah} has made one to excel the other. With regaurds to strength this does not mean that men are over women nor does it degrade women. This means the men have to take care of the women and treat them fair and just.

The Prophet SAW told Umm Waraqa ( A woman) to lead paryer in her household with both men and women. This is a Hadith acknowledged by many scholars that are not necessarily modern.
