FACT- I m an overseas student working in a restaurent in sydney. I was harrassed and abused every single day. Where as other australian workers are quite comfortable. My boss think i m a slave so no matter how hard i work, i cant be appreciated. I cant quit my job bcoz my field are strictly limited for my visa conditions. Thats making my life worse day be day..

we need more skilled migrant workers who have better worker ethics than slack local workers

The trouble is they are bringing unskilled workers in and putting lives at risk I know because we lost a much loved member of our family

For the past 1yr & 1/2 I have been working with approx. 450 filipino 457s visa workers, as a volenteer, networking with these men I have seen first hand the conditions these men are working and living under and the blatant use and abuse from employers of the 457 visa scheme. My greatest concern is their health, 2 men died in their sleep, one had a heart-attack at work and died, and one more suffered a serious stroke. Majority from work pressures, labour intensive work, these men are at risk.

The government which endorses this human exploitation should be tried for human rights abuses. If Labor tries to continue the same thing, if it reaches office, the ALP should revolt against its 'leaders'.
