I never said Emarosa was better, you assumed that. You're a tough guy for spewing insults over the internet. Learn how to have an discussion like an adult w/o resulting to immature insults. Btw Jonny Craig's voice will enlighten people.
Very mature ending, like most people who express their opinions online. Theirs a big difference between influence and imitation. Ok let me rephrase, pioneers of the way rock sounds today. Chuck berry and all them were the grandfathers/creators of rock... whatever word you wanna use. Chill bro, I'm glad you're enlightening people with these great musical references.
If you read my earlier comment I clearly stated that every rock artist is a derivative of 60s rock. However when you "steal" and don't add anything new to it...you shouldn't be deemed the pioneers of new rock. KOL already have that title...
This convo is going nowhere so I respectfully agree to disagree.
@endpoem This conversation is going nowhere because you completely ignore the history before the 60's. Players in the 60's were inspired by old blues and jazz musicians. But you claim that those in the 60's were the pioneers of rock n roll. What a joke. Music is a fluid thing that evolves through inspiration and imitation. Ask any musician and they will tell you they all tried playing like someone else. Who played crossroads first? Cream? NO, IT WAS ROBERT JOHNSON. Now kindly fuck off.
I never said Emarosa was "musically deep" I think they def separate themselves in the "flamboyantly gay" genre as you. If you can honestly say that Jonny Craig's voice amazing, then I guess I don't know good music? I'm 30 bro, look I can tell you're upset cause I called your band out. However I never said they sucked or were gay...just saying if I wanna hear bluesy songs and toned-down guitar riffs...I'll listen to 60's rock. Ask any musician and see if they don't tell you that BK is blatanly s
@endpoem If you know any musicians who think they- or any other musician- aren't blatantly stealing all the time, then you know some terrible, amateur musicians. Any artist with the tiniest bit of self-awareness would tell you this.
The reason why everyone likes this band is because blatantly copy 60's rock( Hendrix mostly!) All bands nowadays are some derivative of classic rock but these guys aren't shy about stealing.
@endpoem Emarosa? Yeah, they're so musically deep playing emo rock for 16 year old fans like the other million bands that already do that. Good call. Also, if you had any musical knowledge before the year 2000( probably not bc you are probably some 16 yr old...if older then im embarrassed for you that you're still listening to emarosa) you would know they aren't copying anyone especially the great Hendrix. Emo rock is like metal's flamboyantly gay younger brother.
I can't stop watching this... this is just unreal. Dan's tone with Pat's fierce drumming is so fantastic. If this is the way blues/rock are headed in the 21st century... count me in!
Since you guys like The Black Keys (I'm assuming) then I'd appreciate if you'd listen to my friend's band, The Districts, and give me your thoughts on them. The singer sounds kind of like Dan Auerbach but younger and more soulful. Tell me what you think!
@tele757 do you really have to come a black keys video to say the black keys suck and to tell everyone your better than them at guitar? This is the second time I've seen you on black keys video, and you keep doing the same shit. Just stop commenting for the sake of everyone.
i play at al level of pAge, Iomi, Black more, Jeff Beck from 0's, Gilmour, john pAul Jones pink noyz on myspace music--what you think i would reveal my originals. Well most of the tunes are loosely based on floyd, but its just a starting point, you'll see
If you want to get technical, the Black Keys mostly do covers of blues songs while Led Zeppelin wrote most of their stuff from scratch. They also differ greatly in that their singers sound nothing alike.
I don't care what the Black Keys' singer sounds like, the fact that he can be a singer in a successful band while laying down some sweet guitar riffs is enough for me. Even if it doesn't take a lot of skill, he can still hit pitches that I can't.
@Ubersnipe yea, Palnt is a onc in a lifetime thing, whereas DAn has a thin voice and must rely on expensive mics ans sing withthe drone to fatten and vive his voice out. Eric Buren, Steve MArriot, Chris Robinson all eons better
Dude, how dare you compare The Black Keys and Led Zeppelin. Somebody must've dropped you on your head or something when you were little. I'm insulted, and I can guarantee that the entire rock genre personified would take insult to your comparison. There is no comparison, but The Black Keys sure as hell wipes their asses with any rapper nowadays. I'll take them over anything out right now.
@beenohopps they are not much better than rappers, because his blues format has been done better and with more instrumental prowess The keys suck because they take cues from hip hop and r and b beats which are self limiting. They cannot evolve o since their instrumental prowess,a nd not able to lead and improvise makes them formulaic and no different then rap, albeit goo tone/production and cleverly marketed.
