  • Only constructive criticism I have is to make sure you keep your shoulders strong and keep your elbows locked out on your jerk. Everything else looks great. keep it up!

  • @AdvocareAdster Thanks for the comment! This vid is 5 years old, so have a look at my more recent vids as I always appreciate constructive criticism :)

  • i dont understand whats the difference between power and simple clean and jerk

  • @HenNgTr In the simple clean you go down for a front squat.

  • are your elbows lockedout?

  • @SteU4IA Yeah, awkward angle on the lighting.

  • wtf pressout?

  • wow , that was an amazingly strong ... apocaliptica song . : )

jk , very impressive lift man , talk about relative strength

  • @ahmednabil Thanks for the comment. I have a ton of much more recent vids that reflect my current training. Also, love your uploads! I'm a kyokushin practitioner (beginner), and lived in Japan for several years.

  • you had me goin there i thought that was 325lbs you just cleaned and jerked haha but very good though

  • Beastly with the cleans for such a small looking guy

  • beast!

  • wow thats my goal of the year

  • you can do BOTH :)

standing on your toes makes you gain height and still you can drop very quickly under the bar.

standing on your toes will not slow down your speed under the bar, in fact it should give you more TIME to go down.

  • good technique!

i think you could gain a few kilos by standing even more on your toes at the end of the high pull for the clean, and also starting this action earlier.

also, you might want to gain speed in your descent under the bar at the jerk.

keep up the good work :)

  • Thanks again Pierre! Again, this is another old video :-) I'll try to take some new video soon! It's interesting, my coach prefers that I don't rise up on my toes intentionally. He prefers that I emphasize speed under the bar (which is poor still!) rather than extending my pull too much.

  • very nice form!

  • Thank you :-)

  • @madaozeki

really ? thats cool , for me its the other way around im a beginner at weightlifting .

    love your new videos .

  • I've got rubber plates like that in my gym. They range from size 25-45lbs. Those looked like 25'ers. Good lift though.

  • They're 10kg plates (22 lbs)

  • wow you must have type 1 muscle fibers or something you handled all that weight like it was.....rubber....

  • you coulda powercleaned that, you pulled it so high.

  • very nice smooth lift

    well done

  • thanks :)

  • very nice good form good lift perfect!! but i ussally jump when i power/hang clean it can add about 2/3 inches in 3-4 months

  • I am jumping! The weight is heavy enough though that I don't really leave the ground very much :)

  • Nice dude. Couple questions, is it easier to go into a squat, or the normal clean? Whats your max parallel squat/dead?

  • In competition the normal clean is a squat clean. Catching it above parallel is a power clean which is an assistance exercise. I've never done maximum squats to parallel; I have done up to about 350 to parallel. My maximum full squat (all the way down) is a bit under 300 pounds. I've never practiced deadlifts. The most I've ever done for a clean pull is 315; that includes an explosive shrug at the top. In the cage I've done up to 450 from knee height just for fun.

  • i do clean and jerks and my vertical hasnt improved a bit. been at it for 2 months

  • how good is your technique? I would venture that 2 months isn't nearly long enough to develop efficient enough technique to enable you to lift enough to affect your vertical... post a vid!

  • are you a good jumper? just asking b/c a lot of ppl. assume these types of lifts increase one's vertical but, often times most guys who can lift like this don't jump very high. But it's still impressive even if you can't.

  • I've never tried. The people I know who do Olympic lifting and also practice jumping have insane verticals.

  • its a scientific fact actually, a research was done in the summer olympic games in mexico city, cant remember which year. where olympic lifters outjumped olympic track athletes as well as outran the track athletes in the 20m, 20yd dashes. if your're performing olympic lifts hoping to improve vertical, 1st form must be downright correct. maintaining flexibility, plyometrics, cardio, sprints etc... will definetly improve your vertical

  • How much is your vertical leap?

  • I have no idea.

  • great gym, two powercages!

  • 2 power racks, 2 Olympic platforms, 6 Atlas Stones, Farmer's walk implements, Log for log press, kettlebells, belts, powerlifting gear, chains, bands, you name it, we got it :)

  • dude, that gym sounds awesome. perfect for powerlifters and strongmen

  • Well, but we still do not know hom much was on the bar. I am 235 lbs, it'll be quite a time before I will be able to clean and jerk 150% of it. Nice work dude!

  • Sorry :) My bodyweight is listed in some of my other videos! I'm 62kg, so this was about 95kg.

  • Nice work dude.

  • thanks man

  • How much weight?

  • 150% of BW
