  • Most science indicates 5-8 reps is best for growth, and this is especially true for intermediate and advanced trainees. Pushups will do nothing for you unless you are doing 1-arm.

  • At least his form is decent. Check on Retracted shoulder blades.

  • The chest flys in particular will be prone to shoulder injury in the rotator cuff.

  • 8 hours of sleep will do wonders for people not experiencing strong gains. Your body produces HGH at its max while in REM sleep. More REM sleep = more natural HGH = bigger muscles.

  • Your doing some excercises wrong, which will cause future injury. For example when you do dumbell flies dont bring them lower than 90 degrees. Not dissing just giving advice.

  • People crack me up. Just b/c he doesn't promote benching, they think his workouts are "girlie." Dips & pushups are great compound movements that build strength. He's incorporating pressing for strength/size and flys for width/shape. His rotations definitely go against the traditional bodybuilding splits, but then again his body backs it up. Basically - do what works for you, and his routine seems legit to me.

  • @mynutzitch Very true. I never do accessory movements myself, as they seem useless unless one is specifically training for a sport. There are no secrets for building large pecs. All you need to do is eat properly and sufficiently and lift heavy. You cannot determine your pecs' shape. It is genetic(99%).

  • @R3dSt4r90 Sounds like your technique us off. You hands are either too narrow or your hands are placed too high (or both). Be sure your shoulders are retracted back. Your whole body should be like a board or a straight line. Make sure your hands are not placed higher than the nipple line. Eventhough push-ups are great for strength and size, you still should incorporate flys (cable or DB) to develop the width and shape.

  • Dumb bell f;ies dont actually build much muscle, they shape your muscle and stretch it so it covers your chest evenly. The best exercise for muscle gains is BY FAR the bench press.

  • High frequency training is superior in every way over the average 1 body part 1 time a weak routine. What did arnold do when his calfs lacked? He worked them out over 3 times a week. Layne norton an all natural body builder and genetically small guy does high frequency all the time and he is larger then life.   • Just a tip.. I notice you bend your elbows while doing flies. That takes some of the stress off your chest as opposed to having your arms more open.

  • @Raimis17 Its a matter of comfort, if your more comfortable your going to preform better. Although a thumb-less grip is more dangerous.

  • I might actually give this routine a try someday. I've always thought that to build muscle you have to lift as heavy as possible until failure, but that's actually for powerlifting. With bodybuilding(muscle building) you actually lift moderatley heavy, not too light, and not too heavy, with enough weight to do 8-10 reps for each set until failure.
