  • yah, and more 70s than anybody i ever met!

  • the man is a rock star

  • This will be the song my newly wed wife and I will dance to.

  • yeah but Paul would still like to kick that Bandit right in his @*# just once

  • I was all about the age of 12 when I first was this awesome movie on cable back in 1978......30 plus years later I am still 'WOWWED" by it...I miss the 70's.

  • Right on comment about the stupendous Mr Williams !

  • and as i lost control....

  • both rock

  • I like the solo piano (PaullWilliams playing) with William Findlay (singing) better!

I was not myself last night,

  • My dad and I always would always debate on which version of this song was better, personally I found this version better, DAT VOICE. So relax and cool, and that bass. I admire Paul, he's a musical beast.

  • Paul williams songs are addicting. Does anybody know what this song is about though? I really want to know! Please help.

  • @heapner I'm pretty sure the movie said it was about Faust, and that's the name of the song haha

  • This movie deserves a remake with the right cast of today, and this generation could enjoy it their way, with familiar cast to them, I am sure it would also bring back interest for the first film and get Paul Williams the recognition he deserves. Spread the idea!!!

  • @fxgwriter Don't ever think that, this movie is perfect as it is,it's a sort of time capsule and nobody in hollywood has the talent or taste to remake this. Think about just how crappy every remake you've ever seen has been..They'd probably recast Swan with someone totally wrong, like Morgan freeman..

  • @fxgwriter No. Please no

  • winnipeg loves this movie.. I know I do and the msic is tops. cant get much better then this.

  • same effects they use to help out Katy Perry nowadays

  • got that right

  • if this movie went to broadway, how could they NOT have a hit?

the arrangement on this song is simply brilliant & the entire soundtrack is an amazing piece of work.

the movie isn't too bad either ...;)

  • My God! The so called musicians of today have forgotten how to write songs like this, haven't they?

Talentless little "auto-tune" using bastards don't have a clue!

  • Paul Williams, Legend.

  • Paul Williams is a great songwriter! I love this soundtrack.

  • eh, sorry Chivo I think i accidently flagged the comment, my bad {:(

  • beautiful lyrics and a beautiful tune, Paul Williams has to be one of the underrated musicians that has lived

  • thanks for posting ... the best song ever..! I got the original movie DVD it was hard to find it... but I finally got it ...!!!!

  • Great album! Found it on Amazon, but you can't get it on itunes (?!)

  • The lyrics are the best.

  • paul's also going to hell for pulling a winslow. think about it, he had a few hits. then he composes a whole album with such dark under tones and how popular it became? does that make sense. he had his 15 mins foe eternity of pain.

  • @pinaymootang What the hell?

  • i just love this movie (:

  • i freaking love this song , memories of a very poor childhood , but im still here alive and kicking !!!!!!

  • @vlordimor had a really sad childhood but I have a 19 year old son whom I love more than you can possibly imagine. This movie, these songs, being 8 years old. "Dream a bunch friends...dream it never ends".

  • Paul Williams has more talent in his little finger then most "artists" today!!!!!

  • @jrcricket Yeah, Williams did have alot of talent, .. but I remember that he ended up kind'a whoreing himself out quite a bit during the 70's and made some pretty bad carreer choices. Like scoring and acting in some crappy movies like Smokey and the Bandit and crappy tv struff like Boy In the Plastic Bubble and Fantasy Island!! He got really sucked into that whole 70's super-celebrity arena and it ended up murdering his credibility.

  • @jrcricket He did do another fairly decent flick though titled Stone Cold Dead in which he played an evil pimp ( another villain role ) and made a pretty good orangoutang in Conquest For The Planet Of The Apes .

  • @jrcricket The "artists" of today don't even deserve to be called artists, even with little semicolons around it XD

  • Have had this soundtrack since 1974. Still love to listen to it today. Have it on CD now.

Paul Williams is so fantastic; both as a lyricist and a singer.

Thank you so much for postng this and making younger people more aware of the amazing talent.

  • Download this video on keepvid and convert it with a mp3 converter like AVS.

  • I know he owned the 70s as an American songwriter (kind of Elton's doppelganger) but it's this and "Rainbow Connection" that do it for me.

  • hells yea, Paul Williams is awesome!

  • Both versions of this song are amazing. But this song kind of beats out Winslow's because of the song being more of my liking. The multitude of instruments make it feel like I am "walking in the rain, passing by the stores in New York". And "neon signs" as well. Not known to why...though.

  • I prefer his voice but on winslow's piano would be better, it's to " dancy" for me

  • I agree! :)

  • ^^ .

  • I agree that kills me. I love the raw piano on winlow's version, but his voice doesn't carry the song the way Paul's does.

  • i like winslow version better cause is a lil bit dark and well i gotta say thats the version that made it original. still this is an awesome song

  • one the best song i never heir for 30 years or more

  • Swan is it man, I love his gilded voice

  • I like this version, but i guess I prefer Winslow's version.

  • paul is the man...

  • @true4acw he's a rock star-.
