In the early 80's the Khmer Rouge were still attacking villages,the men in my village are assignes guard duty at night,M16 were issued to them to defend the village.There were night time curfew as well,there was a certain time we can and cannot wander about.It was a dangerous time.It's not uncommon to see people going about carrying guns around all over the place back when i was a kid living under Vietnamese occupation.Presently we're still under viet occupation.

When i was a little boy living under Vietnamese occupation in PreyChrouk Province in the early 80's,they wouldn't even let the Cambodian listen to American radio new broadcast.Let alone study English..
