  • Well this was just awful! LOL

  • The most exciting performances of Tosca I ever sat threw were by singers at the twilight of their career.

Callas, Tebaldi, Kirsten, and Olivero. Rysanek is one of those greats.

  • Yes- LAwrence Folley was a wonderful BAritone and a very warm person. (i should know-I dated one of his daughters!)

  • Puf. Las únicas escenas en las que se luce Rysanek como soprano, allí donde puede gritar y desplegar sus dotes teatrales. Le van mejor los papeles de Mezzo.

  • This was in Cape Town's then Nico Malan Opera House circa 1984. I saw this production. Sadly neither artist at the peak of their powers. Rysanek's legend is well known but you should have seen Lawrence Folley just a few years earlier in Rigoletto, Macbeth & La Forza)AWESOME - South Africa's greatest baritone 6/12/1928 - 14/1/2007 R.I.P.
