  • how are there dislikes on this video, doesnt make sense.......

  • accruate effective and efficient offensive plays. A Legend.

  • Look at the way Jordan holds the ball in the air. He had the best hands to play this sport. Big hands + natural talent.

  • He make the other 9 players in the floor looks so stupid (includes isaiah)

  • its crazy how jordan changed the game

  • At 2:40 did you cats see the footwork of the Freak??

At 3:28 did you cats see the jump hook shot of the Man??

  • i dont care about the numbers. hes too fast faster than d rose i think not as skilled but damn he fast

  • @sangmin22 Who MJ? It's the other way around. He's skilled but not faster than rose

  • @vitalcoordinates He is faster than rose look up videos of the two on fastbreaks rose is just quicker.

  • Always great to see nerds arguing about MJ Kobe and LeBron. lol. fucking 9 year olds

  • @bombardsquads ignore it hater

  • WATS WITH THE SPRING POWERS :)

  • that wasnt his rookie season his rookie sean he was # 45

  • @SPLASH125032 no he wasn't

  • @SPLASH125032 wrong. he only wore #45 after his first retirement. he came into the NBA wearing 23.

  • man he was fAaaaast!!

  • u can say cobe is better u can say lebron is better u can say even WADE is better, but i tell u this my friend, there was no better time to watch basketball then when jordan played the game.GOAT

  • No player.... including Kobe, Le Bron, Drexler... and many others..., has ever had the style of Michael Jordan in his prime ('84 - '99).

People can argue all day long about whose the best, most effective etc.

But MJ did it with style.

  • @dave474c i like to put it this way, kobe has the style, lebron has the efficiency.

    mj had both.

  • @TheBoiFlip i really like your take on it. i think im gonna start saying that from now on!

  • he is to quick men....

  • My trip to YouTube is never complete without Michael Jordan... Rookie or Older

  • @awubinski

I had a pare of his air ones when I was 3, I now have the re-issued ones that came out the summer of 2009!

  • and people dare compare the GOAT to anyone?... PLS!

  • yo Med you still making videos i seen your shits back on aveo like 5 years ago...i need more big homie

  • 3:35 He's so fast he can take one dribble from halfcourt and be at the rim.

  • I wouldn't call five assists selfish

  • he was the GOAT as a rookie. He's not considered human on the basketball court.

  • Jordan had a low post game as a rookie and Kobe took 14 seasons to figure it out.

  • just a beast

  • @Balla4life215 What are you like twelve? Zone defense..hahahaha You're reasons are ridiculous, specifically how you try to undermine just how good the level of competition and defense was in the '80's and '90's. But it's whatever, don't get back to me, just do yourself a favor and study up on some classic NBA before making some of those statements. The zone is not hard to beat as long as you make the correct, efficient plays. By the way change the name, clearly it doesn't suit you..

  • Comment removed

  • @bBalla4life215 By the way since you are riding Kobe nutz so hard , makes me wonder who the real faggot is. Are you sure he isn't pulling your skirt up? Clown...

  • MJ as a rookie averaged 28 ppg on 51.5% shooting, with 6 apg, 6 rpg, and 2.4 spg. Many people also don't know this, but he actually led the entire league in overall points in his rookie season. Good freakin grief that is just beast.

  • @uberathlete players like oscar were good too

  • people always forget it was shaq who was the reason why kobe has 3 of his 5 rings to begin with.. shaq was the finals mvp for all 3 championships the lakers won.. so kobe wasnt even the best player on his team and certainly not of all time. mj was finals mvp all 6 times

  • @JRope1016 But at the same time Shaq needed Kobe to win those 3 rings and also he had D-Wade to win his 4th....But more importantly why are we mentioning Kobe in an MJ video?? O.O

  • @jaquino94 why Kobe is mentioning??? cause people like you who didn't understand the game of basketball. and admitting that Kobe is the best....we as an observers, we want all of you to realize that the reality...MJ is the greatest of all time/!!! just research at google...and compare both of them....

  • @kenelyn1000 Okay if you read my comment carefully, I didn't say anything about Kobe being the best. I'm a Kobe fan and a Lakers fan but I'm not blinded like other people who thinks that Kobe is the best. I think he's not the best of all time, it's MJ and will be MJ. Even if Kobe wins a 6th ring, he still won't touch MJ's achievements, and his stats. Kobe is one of the best players, maybe the best in currently but MJ will always be GOAT.

  • @JRope1016 well, Shaq couldn't have done it without Kobe, just like Jordan couldn't have done it without Pippen

and in the end they all needed Phil Jackson

  • @freddiebarry93 true but theres a reason why shaq and jordan won finals mvp. they were the MAIN reasons why they won.

  • @TheBoiFlip i agree, totally. Shaq and Jordan were the MVPs, they get the most credit.

but who is better? Scottie Pippen or Kobe Bryant?

  • @freddiebarry93 Not saying Scottie is better... Kobe is very good... But I would rather have Scottie on my team than Kobe.

  • @TheShnag yeah. i think i would like Scottie on my team too, because he's more of a team player than Kobe

  • @JRope1016 okay, kobe was 3 years out of high school at that point....also, that means lebrons rings wont matter, nonetheless scottie is a top 25 player of ALL time and is very underrated..... Kobe and MJ dont compare bc they had different careers...if kobe had pau from the age of 27, he would have won 6 being the MVP. Also, it wasnt shaq who was the reason....without kobe, shaq wouldnt have won. just like without pippen, MJ wouldnt have won

  • @ihofaerefa Jordan help pippen to step up their game to their highest level. Remember Pippen and grant join the bulls 2 years before they won a championship and they both like a 10ppg player in the playoffs and they didn't win a championship. Then next year MJ help them averaging 7.6 assist in the playoffs and pip got 13ppg and the others went up also but still not enough for a ring. Next year, MJ dish 8.4 assist in playoffs and pippen got 21ppg in playoffs and then they won a ring

  • @vitalcoordinates they actually joined in 1987 and won a ring in 91 way more than two years and MJ got more assists because he got EVERYBODY involved not just pippen and grant you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

  • @ihofaerefa MJ-Pippen were different from Kobe-Shaq and Kobe-pau. Shaq were already a beast back in the orlando and they knock MJ and pippen in 1995 playoffs a 28+ppg 12+rpg and arguably unstoppable in the paint without that, Lakers wont win a ring just like what we saw after shaq left, Gasol was a 20ppg player back in the Memphis. Pippen was a 7ppg player back in his rookie and a 13ppg in his next season. Read My first post after this, i did explain how MJ pippen won their 1st ring

  • @JRope1016 but pippen was the reason MJ wont those championships ???

  • b4 you Kobe clowns talk about Kobe learn the history of the game...Goodness you younginz don't even know the history of the game....

  • @Balla4life215 Another blind Kobe fan who thinks kobe bryant's the so called "greatest of all time"

  • wow and they call this the weak era?? The era of jordan may be the weakest in nba history, just look at this shitty ass defense! pause at 2:48 ....what great defensive form LOL if kobe ever played against this shit in his prim he would have averaged 81

  • @balla4life215 U don't know what u are talking about...Learn the defensive history of the game and by the way it was way more physical back in that era than today's touchy touch league...Kobe would not have lasted 3 years in the league.

  • @balla4life215 And wow... you're picking on few clips... would you let me guess where you from? you probably from LA or state of Cal...Because nobody in the states believe kobe is better than MJ than in Cal or LA...

  • @scapicoco nah son i'm not picking a few clips, watch the entire highlight vid and you'll see there is NO defensive resistance the entire game. I mean look at the very first fucking play, all jordan does is run in a straight line from one end of the court to the other and does a layup. I can't even get away with that shit playing pickup games with my friends. And I'm not from CAL, I'm just not too blind to see how weak this defense is

  • @balla4life215 "clips" i mean the whole vid highlights... not the entire game... and if you're going to approach mj in his rookie season... you gotta give spacing because mj has not established his shooting early in his career... notice his shooting form in comparison to his prime (he's a slasher type early on, if you go too close he'll blow passed you), Isaiah obviously gave him too much spacing... perhaps because mj is too quick... also, the pistons haven't he'd devised the Jordan Rules yet...

  • @balla4life215 I would also want to note that Isaiah is the weakest defender among the Bad Boys...

  • @balla4life215

im sorry but the facts ARE that the 80s & 90s defense were more aggressive than today. You barely see hard fouls anymore. the last one i saw was from bynum and shaq (who just retired). 80s had tougher players as well. They had f*cking beards.

  • WOW look how far he jumped for the dunk 3:40

  • Games back then were very intense. Fouls were barely called until the shot attempt was made. NBA today you would see all kind of soft/cheap calls: little contact, moving screen, 3 secs, technical..games were never like before. sigh.

  • Strange to see Detroit play defense without mugging anyone who came into the lane with the ball. Must have been before they became the bad boys.

  • he made Isiah look like a rookie

  • Is this a Michael Jordan mix ? XD

  • This was better than the 2011 Finals.

  • at 0:57 i though that no one else was playing except for Jordan and Thomas.

  • D rose is exactly like mj

  • @mrducttapeman100

Please don't try to compare them.

Derrick Rose is damn good. But don't see he is ANYTHING like MJ

  • All MJ footage needs to be remastered in everyway possible and put on blu-ray.

  • 2:38 - TOTAL DEFENSE FAIL LOL.

  • There is NO ONE, NOOOOOOOOOOOO ONE, Like Mike. EVER.

  • Man his kicks look so fresh compared to the all whites everyone else had

  • Kevin durant is the fuckin best player in the NBA today! He leads the league in scoring does that deserve MVP?

  • 2:37 - 2:44 O M G.... The best

  • Comment removed

  • so natural, poetic, and fluid the way he played.

  • @waterjordan2 I was just thinking the same thing. He just had that IT factor. Seeing him play for the first time back then must have been like studying greatness. He was a rookie and you could already see how special he was. None of these modern players have what he had.

  • It just looks like it's from one game. It's actually a highlight reel....Wow.

  • 2:44 Really fierce and sudden move to the basket!

  • Dang if they could emulate Michael Jordan's hang time and double clutch moves on NBA 2k11 I would never play another game.

  • 3:11 doesnt count , he stepped at the floor first and then released the ball .

3:41 isnt that carying the ball ? that too doesnt count couse its traveling violation .

just a notice . anyway , great highligts , he was already that good .

  • Im Kobe fan but i hate some of them who are always saying that Kobe is better than MJ.

MJ is the best ever stop embarrassing your self, you are stupid!

Michael Jordan= Best Basketball player ever

    period

  • Now, that was some tough, hand checking defense being played there. I mean, did you see the Pistons guys sliding there feet to take a charge and or hammering the great MJ. Hell, Kobe would not last a game back in the 80's! Those guys were sooo tough. Kobe should consider himself lucky or else he wouldn't have nothin'!

  • @Legend1One now you sound crazy for saying Kobe wouldnt last one game in the 80's??? Kobe is a soft player now??? Do you understand how competitive he is? You buggin dude.

  • @Soo35cool I was being sarcastic... Really just speaking to the fallacy that the play in the 80's was so much toughter than it is today. Of course, Kobe would have killed those midgets back it the 80's...just as Jordan did. Infact, it would have be worse.

  • How good can a Rookie be lol he literally embarrassed the Other Team !!! OMG ...Wow! hes the BEst Ever! This is one game as a Rookie .. man!

  • 1:22 isn't that a carry?

if not that's a great move

  • wow i think the world has forgotten how dominant mj was for everyone to ques if lebron or kobe is just as good over one generation is crazy. This guy was from another planet hugh disrespect to MJ (as well as kobe and lebron)

  • he made the game look so easy...

  • MJ is way better than Kobe. Kobe's numbers are dipping. his career numbers are 25.3. MJ even when he had those two sucky years in Washington average 30.1 for his career. I dont hear anyone saying lets give up my number for respect for kobe. Jordan's has better sneakers. tons of commercials. and is the most recognized player no matter where he goes. Kobe lovers can suck my cock

  • MJ would score an average of 45pts a game if today's defensive rules !!!!

  • GREATEST!

  • GOD

  • kobe aint shit compared 2 jordan

  • great michael jordan my idol!

  • who gives a shit about who had a better game in their rookie season? We all know jennings will never be as good as jordan

  • at 2:41in the background you can hear the crescendo of the kids and people in the audience raise their voices in anticipation as MJ picks up steam to drive and dunk the ball.

  • its always great to hear the announcers nervous laughing and honest surprise to how good Jordan is. the one dude had a natural, "oh my god". its like everyone is aware the are witnessing something that is unrivaled, but its too good to take your eyes off and talk about it.

  • Allen Iverson speed, Bird clutch, Wilt Chamberlain size hands, Carl Lewis type athleticism, Mike Tyson meanness, and no one matched his will to win. That move at 2:40 is what no other player has been able to do. He covered the length of the floor as quick as LJ without the ball and he's much smaller. With the ball no one was faster down the court.

  • @westy44cal you are DEFINATELY right, no other player can do that !!!!!!

  • 2:40....OWNED!

  • mj stats in this game > brandon jenning's game. he had 10 more rebs and like 6 steals??? brandon only 6 points more... fg% about same. plus mj probably made the opponent get into more foul trouble.

  • do you know real stats

    Brandon Jennings:

    55pts 21-34 FG, 7-8 3PT, 5 REB, 5 AST

by the way he's only 6'1

alot of layups in this mj game. actually like every shot is a layup or dunk. that explains the 19-30.

  • you idiot. do you know the defensive rules of NBA now. There is NO DEFENSE Played

MJs 49 pts is more like 60 pts adjusted to today's defenseless defensive rules

MJs FG% will go higher too. Notice how jam packed paint area is with zero open lanes.

Jennings 55 pts adjusted to 1985 MJ game will be more like 45 pts game due to clogged painted area & every FG attempted challenged as MJs was 10 feet outside basket.

  • Do u even know how to read stats?

    MJ : 49pts(FG 19-30, 3PT 0-0, FT 11-13), 15reb(4 o.reb), 5ast, 6stl, 0blk

    this sums up everything.

    MJ greatest ever

  • sorry but BRANDON JENNINGS HAD 55 POINTS

  • @ThaKilluminatiDon sorry but jenning shots barely 40% from the field the entire season lol

  • Look at that FG %.

  • MJ is dame good! make the match like a game, and make other players like a dwarf!!! MJ, always best, not one of them, just the best! love MJ

  • damn he's got handles

  • Watching Jordan makes me believe in magic!!!!!! So inspiring!!

  • wow, that studder step is unreal

  • 2:37 pretty much sums it up. "try and stop me"

  • mike had a smooth stutter step, always did!

  • no he doesnt. lebron's record at rookie season was 41 points vs the new jersy nets. and even if he could broke MJ's record,MJ did it in style, Lebron just throw the ball hopefully he will get to the basket.

  • that 49 isnt the all-time record wilt chamberlain had 58 in a game as a rookie

  • michael is defiinitely nicer than lebron james but lebron james is not a guerilla chill....

  • i think lebron broke the most points in rookie season record

  • no ho didnt wilt first and michael is second the most is 58 by wilt and 49 by mike lebron scored 41 when he was a rookie

  • This might be his greatest highlight game ever!

  • @holesh0t In my opinion, his game when he scored 45 points against the Spurs in his rookie season was even more amazing then this game. MJ in his first 3~4 years in the NBA was the best athelte in the history.

  • i love Jordan's hanging-in-the-air jumpshots

i wonder why players don't do that any more

especially Kobe since he is trying to do everything he can to copy Jordan

  • well rican you cant blame portland. MJ didnt explode like this until he got into the NBA. Alot of his talent was hiding under Dean Smith concept for a balanced UNC team offense when he was in college. Back then it was still believed that centers were the key to building a team. They already had Clyde Drexler they needed a center. Another thing about Jordan was he just kept getting better.

  • He moved like air.... my god!!!!

  • lol You hear the announcer say i think he triple clouthed!! jajaja. 2:44 thats a nasty move he turns on the jets and slams it hard in traffic

  • and 2 think portland took a one-legged sam bowie over Mike!!! biggest sports blunder of the century. the United States should take portland off of the map just 4 that. what a bunch of s hitheads... P.S. thank u so much blazers for screwin that one up!!! what memories the G.O.A.T. gave us!!!!!!!!

  • he didn't shoot one three, wow

  • Nope. This era didn't rely on the three like today. The made their way in to the highest percentage possible.

  • 2:48 = game over

  • Holy fuck! 2:09!!!

  • yea dis guy was good

  • At 3:31, check out the jump hook!

  • man, i bet pistons bench is calling reinforcments:))))))))))))

  • I do believe his stutter step was the best in basketball. Hell almost in sports...Barry Sanders was the only one I remember being better and he was NFL.

  • what's stutter step?

  • What MJ does at about 1:03

  • its a good move, but no way it can touch the sky hook

  • Who said it could? I only said he had the best stutter step

  • Man rookie MIKE was a freakin monster.

  • best player to ever live

  • forget all MJ's 37+, 35+ppg reg seasons. Rookie MJ season was his best IMO. He lead his team in every catagory & beat Hakeem, Barkley, Stockton for Rookie honors. Thats ballsy right there.

  • hey

  • Jordan started early with these Pistons. I don't know if I have seen this or not. Was this after the supposed 'freeze out 'All-Star game? Anyway, I saw something awesome for my birthday, thanks.

    Know Christ- John 17:3

  • This was the first game after the all-star break where a so-called "freeze out" on MJ happened.

  • @medestinier what do you mean freeze out?

  • @YawningBoy Jordan was also voted in as an All-Star starter by the fans in his rookie season. Controversy arose before the All-Star game when word surfaced that several veteran players, led by Isiah Thomas, were upset by the amount of attention Jordan was receiving. This led to a so called "freeze-out" on Jordan, where players refused to pass him the ball throughout the game.

  • @medestinier oh i see. i was reading one of the michael jordan books too and it was saying the other players didn't like how he dressed all flashy during that all star break. he wore this fur coat and some jewelry.

  • @medestinier sad but true. But Mj got his payback on Thomas when the Dream Team came. No Thomas for that, which is a bigger deal than the All star game.

  • @medestinier oh i see thx

  • @medestinier ahh. that explains it why jordan went out and put on a show.

  • wade?comon u guys roy is the rookie jordan

  • also, it's absolutely ridiculous to suggest that michael jordan didn't play against taller defenders. michael cooper? craig ehlo? dennis rodman? teams would throw their whole kitchen sink at michael jordan, and he'd still dunk on them.

  • this was right after the all-star game freeze. MJ got his payback.

  • Plus lebron is much better than kobe!!!!

  • jordan's rookie season is the best rookie season that i know of. oh yeah wilt chamberlain also

  • 1:25 was cold

  • Mn this video he reminds me on Dwyane Wade

  • You is dumb as fuck! You got it backwards, dumbass. You're suppose to say Dwade reminds me on MJ, ole dumb mofo!

  • I've felt the same way: Dwayne Wade is the closest thing to a rookie Michael Jordan that I've ever seen.

  • wooohoo! stop comparing nba all stars!!! their in that level and no one except themselves claim any critiques.. We as street basketball players just play hard and tough and bring our A-game.. Leave them alone because they are in the history and we are just people who are amazed by them in a basketball game.

If you got game, just shut up and play tough..

  • for fuck's sake look at the stats. he shot 19-30 in the game. that is outrageous for a guard. only to be justified by a lot of run outs and dunks. this was "the joke" era. mj and a bunch of clowns

  • "he shot 19-30 in the game."

Kobe's the ONLY player in the HISTORY of the game to MISS 30 shots in a game LOL!! (11/7/02 vs boston).

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • 2:36 pretty much sums up defense during jordan's era. just some standing around, then 1 on 1 with a lot of dribbling

  • Comment removed

  • this is a joke. this is supposed to be the "defensive" era?? come on now.

  • That started around 1987, not 1984..

That's where the "defensive era" or defensive ascension in schemes takes off..

  • or how about the truth in that defense was generally weak all the way until they instituted zone defense. star players such as mj drew single coverage and just dunked on the slow ass help that always came too late. everybody likes to point to the pistons or knicks and their rough brand of defense but it's nonsense. it's completely different to play good defense than it is to just rough people up

  • Oh really?

So is that why offenses are scoring "more" now vs then? Is that why the Top 10 scorer experienced a 23% "increase" in scoring AFTER these changes?

    C'mon man, get real LOL!!

How can defenses be better today & both players & teams are scoring more against them?

  • "The committee instituted a 3-second rule for defenders in order to [prevent] teams from parking [taller players] in the post. The [goal] was to [free the lanes] & [encourage] cuts & drives through the paint. With those changes, among other factors, [offenses] have [opened up], & [scoring] has [climbed]."

    -- Feb. 29, 2009 NY Times

The "key" words are in brackets.

Now how in the hell can defenses today be "better", when rules have been put in place that have CLEARLY increased scoring?!

  • my explanation is also justified by decreased FG%. duh.

u gotta be pretty careful which articles u cite. the doesn't the rest of the article explain that zone is effective for stopping individually dominant players? that's rhetorical cuz it does.

this means that the bryants, mcgradys, lebrons, wades of todays league' are way better than the stars of yesteryear. players of today get 30 pt. averages with zone and man schemes whereas MJ got 30 with... well 2:36

  • U repeatedly show your ignorance because for starters, it's not even a REAL zone! The 3-sec rule prevents it from being one!

Two, teams RARELY utilize it because any decent shooting & passing team will kill that defensive scheme! Steve Nash gets to the hole AT WILL vs it so how "hard" can it be? LOL!!

  • real zone? ur little mind apparently doesn't understand that the strength of a zone against strong perimeter players is with the guards keeping him out of the lane and not the man camping under the rim. is it that difficult for a yao or dwight to take a step and get in the middle of a lane? logically, any great player would rather be played rough and have a chance at being fouled than being doubled, trapped, and denied the ball. well i don't expect to know that cuz ur obviously not a player.
