This is a great solution! Any idea what the max load would be on such a shelf? I see KV makes a variety of models of this bracket for different lengths, but the wood always needs to be 5/8" thick. This makes me wonder how much she can really take!
I've done that before, it's a pain in the ass! What I did was to hang the first hook, get the picture level and then make a mark where the other hook should be. Unfortunately, after I did this I realized that I would have saved a lot of time by just measuring from the middle of the first hook to the second hook, placing my first screw and then measuring over the appropriate length and placing my second screw.
I'd hate for there to be an earthquake..

The product was a bit harder to find than I expected. It is available, though. Do a search for KV Shelf Anchor 88 to locate online merchants.

Try the TOGGLER Anchors instead of molly bolts.

I want to know how to hang a picture that has triangular open hooks on either side but the instructions say not to hang it by wire.

you could try to use screws, but if you dont want to use that then you canmake a pre drilled hole and then place a small rod in it, hope it helped

Thanks for the help. I'll give it a try. I'm getting tired of seeing this picture leaning against the wall!
