When this sreen came around with this music - you know that you will have fun soon!
As I got it, I was 15, late 90tes,the WWI wasnt far, some veterans were alive and the graphics of this game was pretty good!
This simulation had all it need and a good surface and menu and a option to create own missions.
The campaign was clever made and you had some possibilities. For this time of games, I must say, the sky over France was beside the mission also very frequently with enemies.
I had fun with it even without really knowing how to pilot (and as a French I barely find simulators where French airplanes are preponderant... hail Spad XIII !). I have to retry it seriously without having my hand held by the automatic pilot !
One of the best soundtracks ever made. Still remember all the great times my brother and I had with this game. The manual was also very detailed and filled with LOTS of info, unlike anything today. The developers really put their hearts into this one. Always loved rushing into the enemies and getting a medal for being a Rambo. Or doing some extra side quests/kills and getting some more medals. Or just do random stuff like flying as high a possible and making the plane cry and/or ripped apart. =)
@Ca0S666 you must help me, steps to install the fucking patch??, i cannot play with the better graphics because i dont know ibnstall, and if i know it not work, ideas??? i download western front patch from swiisa.net
a.) Very good music indeed, thank you for uploading
b.) Rise of Flight. It HAD a few bugs after release. But NOW they are all fixed and the game is better than ever. In 1.014 they'll have new water simulation, flyable two-seaters and bombers will be released soon this year. OFF's graphics seem very dated in comparison. I would not reccomend it. Yet.
I miss my Red Baron 3D! Been playing it on and off since 1999! Always was able to get it to run and be stable under Win 98 and XP, with mods and all. But since upgrading to Win7 64 I have been unable to get the game to run. Now I am stuck with Rise of Flight and Over Flanders Fields.
I posted a while back on the simhq Red Baron forum asking if anyone knew who was playing this excellent music. I have the RB3D manual and they are not named in the game credits.
Red Baron II/3d is tied for best wwi flight sim with dawn of aces. The newer versions of doa come with all the ww2 stuff, but they dont work, so youd might as well just get regular warbirds.
I tried to patch RB II to rb 3d but it didnt work, oh well...
hey, it already is awesome..it's a fantastic sim....
and you are right, it's still improving...will be fantastic with further patches though:)
i do love it:)
have a good day,
thanks for posting this music, i always played RB3D when I was like 7or8 years old, but I was bad at flying back then(still are but that#s how it is:) )
I hope so, I've seen screens of a heavily patched RB3D that look awesome, but I just have no idea how you get it like that...and get it working properly.
I loved this game, ****in XP, I found a fix a while back for it, where I could play it. But the game usually crashed after I had landed and ended a mission.
Pissed me off to a point you wouldn't believe, are there any more modern WW1 sims that are as good as this game was?
I liked this game, except for one thing. As soon as i reached 100 or so victories, i couldnt play anymore, because all guys in my squadron was suddenly deleted! Anyone else had this trouble?
@m0j0NL Why don't you get it off Good Old Games? That version'll run on a modern PC just fine. Better yet, get Over Flanders Fields, the spiritual successor to rb3d! ;-)
Nice songs

I'd get Rise of Flight if it wasn't for that HURR DURR BUY EXTRA PLANES DERP DERP bullshit.
This music reminds me of the good old games, when you didn't get fucked over fifty seven different ways when buying a game. Red Baron forever!

I don't think I even knew how to read back when I messed around with this game, and I still remember this theme like it was yesterday.

pfft nonthing beats Red Baron 3D's dynamic campaign until one makes one as good as it, no WWI sim will beat Red Baron 3D. ^^

Only game of which i loved the menu music :)
Almost makes me want to build a pentium 2 PC so i can play it without crashes, to fast gameplay, screen corruption.
Heres hoping the new owners of the franchise make a good Red Baron 3 game based on RB2.. the greatest flight sim ever.
