Kinda reminds me of Sharps Tunnel on the C&O Durbin line, now the Greenbrier River Trail, with the wooden shoring. What line used to pass through here?
Looks like mine tracks. Very dangerous to go into these places. If gasses have built up you may be too far in too leave before passing out once you notice it.
North or south of Odd Rd.??. . . give me some coords. or at least a frame of reference . . like between Odd Rd. and Pickshin Hollow. . .and I'll get the details for you. . including the locations of both ends.
Wow Very Interesting That Bug That Flew By Your Camera Looked Like A String. Awhile Ago They Did A Show About These Bugs. People Who Using There Video Cameras Had The Same Thing Flew In front Of There Cameras. The Name Of These Bugs Are "Rods" Also They Call Them "Sky Fish". Scientist Can Not explain Where They Come From.
Someone go in there with some fly-fishing gear on.. or a raft.. maybe a canoe would even work.. It would certainly be slim enough.. You should do some research on the area though... find some old geological surveys from the railroad company that built the tracks (find out who) and see if you can find out details on how the track winds, etc.. Don't wanna hear about someone plunging to their death.
There was a tunnel like this at the old Paragon Adventure park in Hazleton, PA. There were no tracks but you could drive thru it. With all the water coming down at all times and the total darkness it was amazing!
Josephine is located north of Clarksburg WV in north-central WV. According to the railroad atlas, its located on the old Western Maryland Rwy branch from Connellsvile PA. The wood lining of the tunnel is like all the other Western Maryland Rwy tunnels I've seen.
If it's like the Tunnels we had up here in Tyler County it's been covered up by a landfill. The old Trolley tunnels up here were covered by landfills, or some of them were. The bridge pillars and track bed still exist along with one or two of the bridges. Heck we found a few rails in the creeks too.
all that water falling from the ceiling of the tunnel is from the dynamite that was used to blast that tunnel...the cracks can extend for miles...that is a very wet and old tunnel...judging by the wood uprights...
I cant believe that used to be a row road

This tunnel dates back to the days of steam, it may have been operated by either the Western Maryland or the Chesapeake & Ohio.

If you look at the water good enough you can see something that looks like a snake, swimming in there
