  • wweeeeeeeeeeeeeepp woooooooooooooowwwwww!!!!!!!!!

  • Here's you're Happy Birthday Cake!

  • They need to make a video game called Cooking Mama - Little Rascals Edition.

  • lmao yeah the cake sounds still crack me up to this day

  • I need to make those weep-waaaaaw sounds into ring tones!

  • @vexxillo lol.. good idea.

  • Stymie...The original Cake Boss.

  • Actually, how could 4 dickheads dislike this ..... It amazes me.

  • @wastemgmt07 ...I Agree....let them eat cake!!!

  • I'll trade you that doll for your dog

  • dickie moore is cute and hes still alive wow i wish he was 5

  • @littlerascalfan I know, he was so pretty. A beautiful child, and he did become quite a beautiful man as well. Spanky and Buckwheat are just cute as hell.

  • Just perfect, the black guy serving all the white folks. J/K!!! I always read these our gangs posts and they end up about race. Lighten up people this was pure magic!!

Kids + Cameras= ensuing hilarity. Reality TV at its best. All ad libing. AWESome!

  • this would have been one of my better birthdays

  • Well i can determine that the "weep" portion is not weep at all, it's the word "nearly" or "really" slowed down and reversed....and when i loop it it definitely sounds like a record needle stuck in a groove, i bet you more than anything that's what inspired the soundmen, makes perfect sense, it's from a 78rpm record skipping, reversed and slowed down., I'll try to make an example video. , you can even hear the physical sound of the needle and groove! I just have to get the speed exactly right.

  • SOUNDS LIKE MY WIFES BODY WHEN SHE TAKES HER CLOTHES OFF

  • This is a surprise! Apparently the sound is a slowed down version of a doll saying "sleep well"...

  • @allanfisch I'm not so sure i agree 100% with your policework there lou...it's the WOW sound effect, used throughout the LR series and elsewhere in the '30's.

  • @allanfisch this comes from the Maltin/Bann book....someone who is savy with speed manipulation, giver-er a shot....I'm going to try...The "wow" sound is just a piece of this, we call it samples nowadays..

  • @allanfisch the "wow" and I don't have the patience right now to try this, because it's not constant, is probably either a record or sound machine starting up or stopping, and possibly reversed, so it's either accelerating or decelerating,, they are definitely two totally different sources, edited, chopped, mixed over each other, butted against each other, but there are two distinct parts and they are not the same method even, i am positiive the weep portion is a skipping record.,

  • @allanfisch what complicates things is the score underneath which you have to totally mentally screen out.

  • Dear Tubees:

It is my sad duty to inform you that Jackie Cooper, one of the few 'Our Gang' graduates to go on to a successful show business career in adulthood, has passed away at age 88 after a brief illness.

    He will be greatly missed.

  • "What did you get, Spanky?"

"All I got was a bellyache."

  • Are these episodes on DVD? I can watch this stuff all day and never get tired, too busy laughing.

  • @evilunixuser1 You can get 'The Little Rascals: The Complete Collection' -- a chronological collection of 80 Hal Roach shorts (8 DVDs for under $45) before the series was sold off to MGM. Even though 'Uncut', some issues remained, but this may be fixed. In June 2011 seven separate DVD volumes are promised for under $8 (or even $6) each. Not certain if missing bonus features. Overall, the 2008 collection may be a better value, but **Read Reviews** and Search RHI, tvshowsondvd, Little Rascals.

  • wheeep wow...lol

  • I wanna see the whole thing!!!!! I MISS OUR GANG!!!!

  • i miss these

  • lol i laughed so hard at that cake i just burned the weep waaaw in my oven

  • love the memories

  • In his book on Our Gang, Leonard Maltin describes the cake sound effect as "a tired foghorn" -- and I must agree with him that is is most likely the funniest sound effect ever created.

  • Funny!!!

  • Looks like something that would happen 2 me!!!

  • OUR GANG WAS SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD,,I DONT CARE ABOUT THE RACISM,,HAL ROCHE WAS A GENIUS

  • @lcolby11 I agree, nothing Racist about this. It was made almost 80 years ago. This is the way it was back then, People are very wrong to judge this by today's standards. 80 years ago, racial humor was part of Vaudville and that was where Hal Roach got most of his material.

  • lol ben stein hahahahahaha

  • This morning my 2 year-old asked me to make the wee wow sound, not knowing where I got it. So I found the Youtube video and busted out laughing and so did he! LOL

  • Stymie is cool.

  • I remember this one, haha. I think some kid finds a hairbrush in the cake. I wish someone would post whole episodes. All I can find are these minute and a half clips. I'd love to watch these again. Reminds me of UHF in the early 80's, after-school.

  • @MckyMseNTarotCrds yeah...one of the kids got a mouse trap on his lip! You can get all the little rascal episodes on a DVD...it's not too much.

  • the best of all time..

  • LMFAO!!!!

  • Cake boss 1931.

  • For sure........five stars ! ! !

  • I love this "Lil' Spankies" more than any other...I remember the "meemp mwawr" sounds emminating from that over-filled cake- I wouldn't eat cake for years after the broadcast!! Affected my mind in all the wrong ways !!!

  • I cant stop f** laughing!

  • @yarekhunt ROFLMAO!!.. Me either. The sound that cake is making is killing me.. Hahahahahahaha!!!

  • My this is a surprise!!!

  • That cake is more fun than a barrel of monkeys!!

  • @RCMGD and easier to eat!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY ~~~~~VICKI TO U WITH FROSTING AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN >>>>>LUV XXXXX FREDDIE.....

  • THAT CAKE SOUND

  • hahah...there is a guy in a recording booth saying WEEEE WOOOOW...... hey...so where is the rest of this clip!?!?

  • WEEEEEEEPWOOOOOOOOW!!!!

  • One of my favorites

  • lmao...that fuckin noise stood in my mind throughout my fuckin life...lmao...I have it on my answering machine...my friends call me up just to listen to it and laugh....especially after smoking a joint...lol...these kids were amazin...

  • EEP BWOW cake, one of my favorite episodes

  • Who owns the rights? Why aren't these available? This is the funniest stuff!

  • @Scrumpilump2000 ..."Cabin Fever" owns it and you can buy it anywhere just about...UNCUT ! Check the internet you wont have a problem at all.

  • LMAO....hilarious

  • 72 dimensional cake

  • Hmm to me it sounds more like "BuWow!" But yeah, I make that sound when I bump forward into my wife.

  • I was kicked out of class in 4th grade because another kid kept making the cake sound effect and I could not stop laughing.

  • @zerocrossing

I can totally relate. At 50, I still find this hilarious, and have referred to this cake for years. Some stuff never stops being funny.

  • @jazzbuff630 Too bad we have to watch this one small section at a time while looking for the rest of it. We need to see the whole thing all at once.

  • I make that sound to this very day.......WIGG WOWW WIGG WOWW!!!

ILMFOA everytime!!!! Thanks for posting this!!!!!!!!!

  • At 1:25 it looks like Larry King had an orgasm on Stymie's face

  • I remember watching this one, about 30 years ago, in syndication of course...

  • mmm yummy

  • Weee Wowww, Weeee Wowwww. This is one of my favorite Little Rascal's

  • I HAVE A DREAM...

That one day, black children and white children will sit down together, at the same table, and eat cake that goes "weeep...waaaaw!"

  • what the hell is that cake made of>

  • Does anyone have a clip of when the kids take the "prizes" from the cake?

  • I love this scene. Sometimes I make the noises when I present a cake I've made. My nieces love it!

  • @reggie583 The noise itself is perhaps the funniest thing about the whole episode.

It's just too good to be true when you realize that someone took the time to put these clips up for all of us to see (and remember in my case.)

The ultimate Hell's Kitchen episode--Gordon Ramsay meets The Little Rascals.

  • I really want to know where the hell can I get these sounds

  • I love this episode!! CLASSIC!!! Was this cake talking????? LOL!!!!

  • dem was da good old days.

  • Weeeep Whaaaa !!!

  • this was a really funny show. it's been awhile since i watched a full episode of it.

the cool thing about it is that the kids looked like they were having fun when filming it. they didn't seem to be pressured or anything like that. they were allowed to behave the way kids their age like to.

  • i have the theme song as a ringtone

  • ive been watching these episodes since i was 3 im now 18 we have them on video i must have watched them a million times i still laugh till i cry when i watch these . the remakes got nothing on the originals xD

  • My friend and I used to do impressions of this cake. Don't think we got it down.

  • Life is imitating art. The cake is Obamacare....

  • @NJBill39

    Very clever analogy!

However, stuff as classic as the Little Rascals shouldn't be politicized, but I do

    see your point clearly:

The cake is Obamacare and the icing is the layer of lies, false promises, and all-around BS applied to it to make the public forget that it's a pile of shite.

What better way to hide the smell of BS than to layer it with something sweet?

  • @Shawnster65 don't forget that some of the stuff pulled out of that cake is quite symbolic to the Obama administration:

A shoe (a kick to your ass for voting!)

A water warmer bag (as in you better forget about going to the doctor and use this instead)

A mouse trap! (need I say more to that one!)

  • @tmf1977 LMFAO...that's a great one, I love it! Not to mention the flour coming out of the cake when Stymie cuts it being a symbol of the soon to be legalized hard drugs the admin wants to push upon us. Here comes Socialized Europe 2.0

  • @tmf1977 So what was it that was making the "wheepwow" sound?

  • @hell5309 the video of spanky and tobasco sauce makes that noise too

  • @stripedman09 What I mean is, what did they put in the cake that would have made that noise?

  • Yeah. That cake sound is the stuff of nightmares, partly because nobody really knows how it was made.

Most kids have better recording technology on their PCs than the Roach studio did in '32 - you gotta hand it to them for using their primitiveness to the hilt...

  • @YearOfCam the cake is th evoice of Bobby Bletcher

  • @lotuswight I never knew that! Thanks for sharing that fact.

  • the cake noise was annoying but funny back then ...a center block with frosting..funny how he brought in the dinning room all by himself lol

  • This was always one of my favorite sounds to make as a kid. Drove my parents crazy. Nothing like the Little Rascals, but this is my favorite at 52.

  • I have it as a ringtone,

and sometimes for laughs, I'll play the ringtone separately when when my wife and I are out somewhere. She gets really embarrassed, LOL

And one time when we were in Wal-Mart, I did it when we were in linem and the cashier said "is that YOUR phone"? She went "Oh my God!" and covered her mouth laughing.

My wife looked at her and said "oh yes, the easily amused middle aged white man", and they both started laughing too.

    Fun!

  • How can I get this ringtone? Thanks.

  • My cousin is some sort of a wizard with sound files and all that stuff..I'd have to ask him how he did it. as it's not available as an actual ring tone, which it SHOULD be!

  • THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WEEEEEE-WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!

  • OMG!!.. I cant stop laughing at that sound!!

  • My parents got mad at us when my brothers and I were kids because we would make this sound all day long!

  • AMEN !!!!!!!!!!!

  • At the end a girl asks Spanky what surprise he got, and he replies "All I got was a bellyache!"

  • lol the cake saying weeee wooooow

  • If anything, the Little Rascals was ground breaking in that it showed white and black children playing together during the depression era. Both races in many of the Our Gang shorts were portrayed as very poor or orphaned.

  • @tmf1977 but the media swept that under the carpet after wail for some reson

  • The cake actually sounds like Ben Stein in those commercials for Clear Eyes.

  • @xquizitenj Just read your reply.....

    Still laughing. Ferris Buler

  • @xquizitenj .....lmao...that fuckin noise stood in my mind throughout my fuckin life...I have it on my answering machine...my friends call me just to listen to it and laugh...especially after smoking a joint...lol...these kids were amazin....

  • @xquizitenj LOL! Yes it does!!!

  • Cosby buying the rights is a total urban legend. Much like Ted Turner buying the rights to The Dukes of Hazzard because he didn't like the way it portrayed southerners.

  • where can i get that?

  • That cakes sounds like its possessed by Satan lol

  • Why do you think they call it "Devil's Food" cake? ;-)

  • Stymie did more for white children accepting blacks as pals than 10 Martin Luther Kings.

  • Amazon sells the DVD Box set - all episodes. I'm getting it - settle in for some classic laughs...

  • Does Hallmark still own the rights to these shorts?

  • I thought Bill Cosby owned the rights - and he felt the theme was racist with Stymie and Buckwheat. That is why the series hasn't been televised in so many years. A shame for all the kids who would really enjoy it. I could be wrong about him having ownership, but I don't think so. I'd have to look it up.

  • yeah, i read the Cosby stuff about an hour ago and also read Hallmark owns it some say the Cosby story is false. I dunno.

  • how much??

  • I remember Hallmark had some little statues of the kids when they bought the rights i kinda wish i`d bought some but expensive.

  • This is from 'Birthday Blues'.

  • greatest of all time-where can i get/buy/download this entire episode ?

  • WEE WOW

    WEE WOW!

    WEE WOW!

  • Stymie was the best! Stymie and Spanky helped make this so funny! Great stuff!

  • In later years, Matthew "Stymie" Beard played one of James Evans Sr's friend on "Good Times." Only in his mid-late 40's, he was drug addicted and had a life of crime. He died a while back.

And it's sad to think that this is what happend to one of the original kids who came to symbolize situational comedy.

Come to think of it, NONE of the Little Rascals had it easy, most of them died thru some bad circumstances. It's crazy..

  • Just record it onto your phone and set it as your ringtone.

  • The cake noise, weee wooow, would make a great ringtone. LOL

  • This one is my favorite! So cute!

  • the noises crack me up

  • Dickie's father in this one is the all-time best movie father. "Next you'll be bawling for Santa Claus.". And he's a street car conductor! I like the part when Dickie sez "what would Ma do with a gun?" and Spanky says "shoot Papa." LOL.

  • I LOVE that WEE WOW! sound! Baby Spanky and the little blonde baby girl put all kinds of junk in that cake a sponge, a mouse trap, a rubber glove, a hair brush, suspendres. This whole episode is cute.

  • i know right the wee wow sound i love the rascals gamagan1 thank god for timeless classics like these, whats disturbing is that our youth knows nothig about this well my children do and they still find it very funny even thought their all grown. Gamagan1

  • HOLY SHIT THAT CAKE IS ALIVE!

  • @gumgumningen ....lmao....hahhahhahhahhahahhhahhahahhahahhahahhahhaha....its alive !!!!!!! hahahhaha...these kids are too much...

  • @gumgumningen WEEEWON WEEEEWON LMAO

  • OMG! We were just talking about this the other day and described it to the kids. Funny as hell!!

  • The honesty and innocence of these comedies is what makes them withstand the test of time.

They were genuinely funny in a way that can't really be reproduced by today's standards.

Kids of today should have no problem laughing at them just as hard as the kids of yesteryear.

And watching the kid's father turn 2 feet small and learning a good lesson from his own kids, is priceless.

As well as a cooking lesson noone will ever forget, lol

  • Maybe it wouldn't work today, BUT:

Guys like Carlos Mencia freely make fun of Arab-Americans and Indians on "Mind Of Mencia" as well as sterotyping his own people sometimes.

    CC also shows "Drawn Together"

and Adult Swim had a short lived show called "The Minori-Team."

So why is it that shows like tis are still allowed if everyone gets their knickers in a twist over a show almost 80 years old?

Just something to think about. Peace :-)

  • Earlier in the episode, when the two little kids--Spanky & Jacquie Lyn--were putting all that used junk inside the cake batter, didn't they also put a woman's shoe & a jockstrap in?

  • Weeeet Wooahhh.. We used to imitate that all the time in grade school. Roach was a damn genius with little subtleties.

  • Oh man, we were doing that WEEEEP WOOOOW in high school and getting detention for it our senior year. This was in 1991.

  • I was getting detention for it, back in '81!

  • According to my mom: When I was like, 2 and a half , I would run out of the room screaming every time they had that noise on TV. And dad would laugh his ass off. And he made sure I was there every time it came on.

Mom said I yelled "nooooo!" one time and threw a shoe at the TV, and I can't type anymore because I'm laughing so hard I can't type straight, lmao

  • The bigest secret in movie history: how did Hal Roach create the WEE-WOW ???

  • It's one of those cow sound things. It's shaped like a tube or soup can with air holes at each end. There is a reed-type thingy that slides back/forth or up/down and makes the sound. Sort of how you can breath in and out with a harmonica.

  • The oven freaking out with the cake inside... pure gold.

'We want cake! We want cake!'

    One of my favorites. =D

  • How can I forget!! How about the shoe? This cake sure was a surprise and I can hear it talking to my stomach right now!!! Stymie was the best!!!

  • I love the hot water bottle, the brush, I think there was a sling shot and all of the other stuff in thre. And the sounds are unforgetable. LMAO!!!!

  • look at that big steaf knife he uses to cut the cake LOL I loved this episode!

  • WOW YEAh - The noises from the cake wierding out the kids- these sounds were famous for decades! Wiingk Wahhhoww Wingk Waahhoww

  • i think i remember those noises from the cake weirded me out

  • This was one of my favorite episodes of all time! ROTFL!

  • if the cake is doing that, leave the room. Kaboooom!

  • That sound the machine/cake made used to freak me out!

  • Pure Genius. Loved the little Rascals.

  • Does anyone know where this entire episode can be found?

  • Oh, thanks for the tip. I was hoping that I could view it for free but I can't find it anywhere yet. Not on YT, Veoh, or anywhere so I may have to buy it!

  • Did you try Hulu?

  • I did try. I found some episodes but not the one I wanted. Thank you so much! I'll just keep my eyes peeled in case it pops up somewhere.

  • You're welcome. Yeah you should search more.

  • This sound effect is legendary-I still laugh my ass off!!! My friend does it to near perfection!

  • That NOISE is the best hidden secret of all time for sure.....I Laugh so hard...tears fall....unbelievable....so funny.

  • ok, does anyone know the name of the episode where they find a jungle like man or something.

i saw that one when i was a kid and i laughed my ass off

  • YOu mean "Wild Man from Borneo"

    "yum yum eat em up"

  • that was the "wild man of Borneo"

    yum, yum. eat em up"

  • it was called "Kid from Borneo"

  • I NEVER LAUGHED so fuckin hard in my life.....they were unbelievable....how they got those young kids to act on Q....is beyond me...and when they cried...it was REAL TEARS and FEELINGS....sad in a way but they were still great !

  • Stymie is a pimp.
