I do think it is a poor cover.

Having said that, this is just a bootleg studio demo of a Japanese artist(a very big one) playing one of the songs he likes.

Judging this recording is almost like judging somebody's karaoke at a party. Just my two cents.

Everyone else who is complaining about this version, if you don't like it why make racist comments toward the Japanese?English speaking people have made songs that were originally Japanese into bad versions i.e. Fukai Mori by Do As Infinity and Itoshi no Eri by Southern All Stars.

1 You'd be surprised how famous he is in Japan and how long he has been around.

2 You'd be further surprised to find that this is exactly how he sings every kind of song he has tried--and many Japanese like it.

Having said that, I agree with you--nobody should sing notes they cannot reach, nor sing lyrics they cannot pronounce.
