Are you serious? I know people who are paying $400-$600 and more every month on electricity simply because they refuse to leave Reliant or TXU. These people are struggling needlessly, when all you need to do is shop around. It's like choosing to buy candy from the movie theatre or Wal-mart. It's obvious what people on a budget should do. If you don't want to do the research in this age of information, you WILL pay for your ignorance. For starters you can go to CutMyLightBill (dot) info.

No one trusts big business, government anymore, everything seems like a scam, people losing their homes because of predatory lenders etc, I can't blame them. Most people think, "there will be some catch down the line". Putting out of business ones current provider (through great prices early on) and then being STUCK (somehow, some way) later on.
Consumers are beginning to really feel that way, bottom line is always "the buck" not our welfare. Thats how it seems
