Actually, what they did here is pretty easy. All the spells take place only in one spot, a flash point where the effect starts. There's no point to point physics, which is much trickier. So, as long as you got the software down, putting this in isn't very hard. I'd say the hardest bit would be doing the shadows around the death eaters.

They're doing something pretty technically complicated at a young age with a competent understanding of editing, cinematography and After Effects, I'd say that's making MORE than constructive use of their time. They're not running around being delinquents or causing mayhem.

1) Magic is within the wizard, so you could use a protection/repelling/blocking spell with your hands.

2) Do you know every single wizard in the entire universe???

3) Wands are: rods of wood with a magical substance embedded into their core. So his staff could be made of hawthorn wood and have a unicorn hair core, just like 2 yards long, it's still technically a wand.
