I have the WS295MP-S6 without the slideswitch but the buttons, same unit otherwise. Best siren I got in my collection, amazing output! Love the way the Wail coasts out, just like the ancient PA200's have.
i have the same siren and i still use it i have not found a better one for the money i picked it up from a police station here in massachusetts for 50 dollars and ive had it for 8 years it moves traffic, its very loud and it packs a punch even with one 100 watt speaker, great siren i wouldnt trade it for anything new
I know this siren is ancient, but it was the best siren Whelen made. It had all 4 siren tones (Wail, Yelp, Two-Tone, Piercer) Cannot get 4 with any Whelen siren now. You only can get 3 but it is programmable.
you did a great job man,i had watch this video because i like the sound of a fire-truck and i want to be a fire-fighter but i have asma.every time i go outside or every time im in the house i listen to the siren of a fire-truck cause i like hearing sirens of a firetruck: )
City Ambulance & Haynes Ambulance in Montgomery, Alabama used these sirens during the Early to mid 90's I have a few videos of the sirens if you like i can upload them as video responses
That's a pretty spiffy faceplate for a Whelen... sounds like the engineers just said "Let's make some screwy tones and to hell with specifications and standards!" Admittedly, it did grab my attention, and that's what sirens are for. (I'm not sure drivers' eyes are supposed to bug out, though.)
On this particular unit I very much like the wail and piercer, as well as the hi-lo...but the yelp...well, for my taste it's a bit too 'wild', if this makes any sense. When I listen to the tones of any siren, I base my personal opinion on how each sound effects me, i.e., eventhough sirens are to grasp people's attention, I'd at least like to hear a tone that is 'pleasant' and not harsh, especially if I'm about to be pulled over and fined...I'd like to get 'something' for my money anyway.
did u get the rumbler siren yet?

Love it all but the sound was not the best could have been better but I do love the fact that I could watch it in HD that was cool.
