Funny funny. A note in their defence: the pitching of a singer on stage in part depends on what they are hearing from the speakers feedbacking the band. Often the singer can't hear a damn thing and have to guess (the speakers are too far away, too soft, wrongly placed) Or the band can't hear the singer. Just wanted to add that, when singers are perfoming on a stage it can be often the fault of bad monitor setting if they go off-key sometimes. For correct notes it is very important that the performer can hear him/herself. On a concert they are surrounded by the sounds of all the other instruments and it's their own monitorig speaker's job to ensure they can still hear what they are actually singing. Great analysis by the way, I hope it helps for many.

no offense but you should've showed male singers as well cauz as a male I can't sing in the same ranges as female singers can and I'm trying to get better at singing.
@primohomme ok just wanted some male examples obviously a note is a note and females and males differ in octaves, you need to learn how to be respectful and just answer questions and except that people need different examples and learn differently don't be an asshole I'm asking you nicely.
Well, would you agree that it might be more difficult for someone new to singing or just music in general to match a melody played in the seventh octave in their own range?
Well, I guess you must be one of the lucky ones with perfect pitch, or at least a very well-developed relative pitch (that's usually how people with perfect pitch describe notes, actually: a C is a C is a C). My choir director and several other people say I'm not tone deaf (let's take their word for it), but it would be considerably harder for me to hum a melody I hear once that's in the first or seventh octave as opposed to an octave within or close to my range.
I guess another analogy you could use would be something like: If you played four notes, I could hear and hum every one of them. But someone else might be able to hear 9 notes at the same time and hum them. I know that's an entirely different area of aural abilities, but it's that degrees of aural ability differ. According to David Lucas Burge, this is actually quite common (difficulty in clearly hearing higher or lower octave notes) with those whose aural skills aren't developed.
You could try singing in a choir. That's a great way to practice your pitch and aural skills and hear how chords blend together. But you should eventually get used to singing an octave or two up or down from an original pitch. That really works on your ear. Then the next step after that is harmonizing in intervals...
@sonoroustripleh Gee, no schitt-Sherlock; you can't sing in the same range, but you CAN sing in the same overall key, you idiot; learn something about Music.
@SatchmoSings u know what asshole maybe some people learn differently and need an example listen to me very carefully next time u think about posting a negative comment think about how you would feel if u had a learning disability and someone sad to u no shit u can't sing in the same octave but u can sing in the key learn something about music think u fuckin troll think fuck u!
@sonoroustripleh After skimming some remarks, you basically want me to regurgitate the upbeat, encouraging and patient tone of @Astariel2525 to deal with what I think of as some of the most basic rank idiocy and wishful thinking I've ever seen.
The level of education in this country keeps sinking and sinking; this is stuff they used to teach in Jr. & Sr. High or to anyone that's ever had the most basic of musical instruction; these people are largely tone-deaf wannabees.
@sonoroustripleh Your "Halloween Vlog" is as pointless a video as I've ever seen on "Youtube;" you've got a pretty pointless existence if this is what you make and post.
@sonoroustripleh I have no control over what you post anymore than you have the power to tell me that I have no right to comment on your narcissistic idiocy so fuck you, too.
She's been dead since 1976 and if she were still alive she'd be 82 but I guess that's what you're into.
Aw, I hurt your poor wittle feewings; gee; get some spine and learn how to eat pussy instead of just jerking off into a pussy which, on a good day, is what your entire sex life has MAYBE has so far consisted of.
@sonoroustripleh You don't sing in the same range but you DO sing in the same key!
Generally sopranos (women) and tenors (men) sing in the same key but sing in a range that is generally an octave apart; the same goes for altos (women) and baritones (men).
I can't BUH-LEEVE that you're so fucking stupid and ill-educated not to know such basic shit just as I am sure you don't know what soprano, alto, tenor and baritone all mean, too; you're obviously scratching your pointy head over this.
Christina hit F#6 And G6 In Her First Whistles which Are Both Over E6 So Any Of The Notes She Had Hit Above E Wasnt Correct On Purpose Meaning She Dodnt Have To Hit The G To Be In Tune
how the fuck was Xtina trying to to hit the stripped whistle??? the whistle in the stripped tour wasnt born yet to try to hit it again. notice the fucking age and hair color dumbass
madonna - flat and i think whitney just sang what she wanted to sing and didn't go off pitch and if it didn't go out well with the music it's probably because it's an ad-lib im "guessing" beyonce - sharp alicia - flat christina - flat and i think leona went sharp and then went to the right note mariah carey make it happen was just lower half note but she was on pitch the whole performance lani misalucha - WTF sharp and the flat LOL
@rekupp They definitely do, it's a function of how the sound is generated, not the tonal quality of the end-product. I don't get why so many people think women don't have a falsetto, they need to read up on laryngology.
Man, it's SO easy to second-guess yourself when listening to pitch. Voices alongside instruments can complicate pitch hearing. That gets into acoustics and such. And a lot of very good musicians go out of tune for technical reasons, not for their ears. A low soft palate, for example, will dampen upper partials, which can make the notes sound flat. Low breath energy will make it hard to stay on top of the pitch. Notice how Taylor swift sings CONSISTENTLY flat in EVERYTHING -- it's technique.
madonna - VERY FLAT Siti - sounded fine Siobhan - Annoyingly sharp Whitney - fine. But the run sounded a little sloppy for her. Beyonce - sounded great. Alicia Keys - her first high note was flat. Chris Brown - ending note went sharp. Christina - that SUCKED - i think she started too sharp or something, but if she started right, then her high note went flat. Michael - went sharp. Should have been lower. Toni - was fine Leona - I ABSOLUTELY HATE her singing! definitely sharp! Mariah - ok!
@WestVoice I had never noticed it,. but it's true! the first RUN Mariah was perfect, incredibly perfect, you hear the note up perfectly, the last note of the first RUN was so perfectly executed, very high note, and beautiful to hear! in the second it was different! but both the first and the second Run seems they were made by instruments, very amazing what Mariah can do with your voice!love her!
I hate when jessica simpson does that thing with her mouth when she sings lol it's like she's opening her mouth wider than she needs to, to say "loooook im hittting a big noteeeeeeeeee"
@reignraven Yep, and I said that in the video I think :) The difference is that some experience it every 10 second while the ones with better ear & better vocal control don't experience it so much... Especially in music like Opera where being in tune is extremely important.
@WestVoice "The difference is that some experience it every 10 second while the ones with better ear & better vocal control don't experience it so much"
True. In this video when Regine went flat I think it was caused by the movement of her head which affected the sustained note. And I was impressed. She was able to IMMEDIATELY push it back to the correct pitch. Most singers, even the greatest ones, when they go flat, the are really flat. And considering it's a sustained note, fantastic!
@WestVoice more than important, being in tune in opera it's something that is a bit overrated. Besides in music like opera the emotion and passion is very hard to express, specially when those singers are have so much pressure on about the techincal aspects.
@Alberto9871 It's not hard for them actually, at least for the ones that are actually good, a lot of them are even too confident that they start showing their boobs and jumping around on stage like a kid while holding Eb6s.
@WestVoice well it's clear what your general idea about the pop singers is. I was talking based on facts. You seem to wanna talk bad about them. It's ok, you're free to believe whatever you want. But that doesn't change the truth. Opera singers are always under a lot of pressure.
@Alberto9871 What's clear? Did I even say anything about pop singers? No... And did I say opera singers are not under a lot of pressure? Once again, no, so how am I refuting your so-called "facts"... Opera singers are under a lot of pressure but that doesn't mean it's hard for them to express -_- In Operas, you have mad scenes and soooo many other emotional scenes and you have to be in character at all times.
@WestVoice you know what? since you're one uploading the videos and apparently know about singing, I'd like to ask you something. What is the proper way to find your mix voice? what's the difference between pop, broadway and operatic singers? what about belting? I'd really like to know about that. Thanks.
@Alberto9871 One way is that you start in a light head voice at a note, you repeat that note, adding more solidity to it each time. In opera, they need to project over an orchestra without a microphone so the throat really needs to be opened + the sound has to be focused/covered. In pop, with microphone technology, their placement & openness of the throat are closer to natural speech. But still, the technique should be at least half-decent to achieve vocal control.
What was the verdict on Michael Sweet? I'd say slightly flat, but since all I listen to is metal I'm not sure. Would you please listen to a singer named Michael Kiske for me and explain to me what you think he technique is like? He's HIGHLY regarded in the metal world. I have my own opinion (which I received a lot of flak for), but I'd like to hear yours.
Here's a good video. You don't need to watch it all. watch?v=wBqrzrMAVfI
Madonna-way Off, Siti-On pitch Can u tell me the name of the song? Siobhan-Off Pitch, I think a bit high Whitney-On Pitch, it sounds a little high for that part though Beyonce-Off? Sounds out of tune, but I don't know that song either, could be wrong Alicia-Off Pitch Chris- On? That part didn't sound bad but its supposed to be high then low Christina- Off Michael- Off Toni-Right On Leona-Off Mariah-off? sounded too low Lani-Off David-Right On Celine-Off Jessica- Off What song does Siti sing?
Wow, I love this video! I've found someone who's as specific as I am about singing :) I sooo notice these things on performances anywhere. It doesn't matter the if they are on tv or not. I clearly listen for these things. It does have a lot to do with breathing, How you approach the note, and how much feeling you put into it :) Great video
@WestVoice I also don't like the fact that when Mariah appears on the video you say "even the greatest singers have had their few..." but when it comes to Christina you don't say a thing, even though she has been named by the people "The Voice of Her Generation". And you put quotation marks when you say "right" notes for Christina, but when it comes to Mariah you even mention perfect pitch. I mean Christina is a great singer. Mariah has lost it. Period.
@Alberto9871 No. In the video, I said even the greatest singers had their FEW off-key moments (which means not so many). The same can't be said for Christina since she has many off-key moments.
@WestVoice Christina doesn't have that many off-key moments. And if she had them it would be because she just doesn't care abuot doing it "perfectly" she sings her heart out when live. Besides if Mariah's "technique" is so "good" then WHY has she lost her voice huh? why did she TOTALLY sucked at Michael Jackson's memorial? and don't tell me the lame "I felt touched, didn't know his body was gonna be in front of me" excuse, cause that's just bs, and you know it.
@Alberto9871 Yes, she does have MANY off-key moments, every performance, you don't know it because you thought they were in tune. Mariah lost her voice because she suffered from vocal nodules, something she developed since she was a little child and she refused to take surgery to heal her voice LOL! Go figure.
@WestVoice I have a very good ear and pitch so I can tell when a singer goes off-key. You may think you're the only one who can do it but you're not. If you didn't know, vocal nodules are caused by strenuous or abusive use of the voice. That means when she was a little child she got them for using an incorrect technique. Which means she DOESN'T have a good technique. Which means she also has many off-key moments. The reason we don't get to hear them is because she LIPSYNCHS whenever she can.
@Alberto9871 If you have a good ear then I assume you would know how many times Christina went off-key in her 2007 grammy performance. LMAO, even if Mariah's technique was bad when she was a kid, that has nothing to do with her technique she used after puberty. You do know right that vocal techniques can be learned really fast and when I say great singers have few off-key moments, I do not actually include moments where they were screaming in their shower 30 years ago when they were 8 years old?
@WestVoice Well then you would know how many times Mariah has screamed, gone off-key and lipsynched through all this years. Now she is forced to lipsynch all the time so she can "pull off" a performance. The Mariah that had a good technique was the one who had an MTV Unplugged. After that she became obsessed with the whistle and the breathy tone she uses til boredom. Her voice sounds strained and has no volume. I know you love her, but PLEASE don't overrate her talent.
@Alberto9871 No, she is not lipsyncing all the time. Have you watch her latest performances? I bet not. Have you seen her last tour? I bet not so don't speak. Consider her vocal condition, Mariah's technique is fine now, in fact she has actually belted notes from E5-G#5 in recent years and NEVER did she CRACK on those notes. Last year, she was sustaining C6s in full head voice, you might as well check it out cuz Christina has no volume in her head voice at all.
@WestVoice Christina does have volume in her head voice. She just hasn't focused on developing a super head voice like other singers (and I'm NOT referring to Mariah). She doesn't need a huge volumen on her head voice, because her chest voice is amazing. She can easily surpass Mariah in a live performance. Mariah's voice doesn't have volume at all. Her voice DOES NOT have the same weight as Christina's or Whitney's. And that's a fact. You can't deny it...unless you're deaf.
@Alberto9871 No, she doesn't have a great chest voice. Whitney can sustain and hit notes with ease while Christina cracks on a simple C5 (a middle note O_O)... Christina's voice is thin as hell, go and listen to all her Candy man notes, they are so thin because her vocal chords are squeezed to the maximum... Now compare that Mariah's E5 belt in It's it's over
@WestVoice Christina belts amazingly, she has a strong, powerful voice. Unlike Mariah whose voice is thin as hell, her voice really is thin. Being a black woman she doesn't have the weight that Beyonce or Jennifer Hudson have.
LOL, Christina doesn't belt, she SCREAMS. A true large voice does not need to scream in order to project, Christina's voice loses color and resonance as she gets loud, that shows that is not singing but screaming.
@primohomme hahaha well that's up to her buddy. At least she doesn't sound like a tranvestite version of Cher. You may be in tune, and "belt" properly but I've got news for you: your voice HAS NO COMMERCIAL APPEAL. You'll never sound as great as Juan Diego Florez (my fellow peruvian) or as beautiful as Maria Callas who I know you adore. And you know why? because your voice is just a bit freaky. Deal with it.
LOL, you are incredibly idiotic, Christina's music has fried your brain
1- Juan Diego Florez is criticized for having a small voice and a sound that is too shrill 2- Maria Callas was never known for a beautiful voice, in fact...that was the main criticism to her, that her timbre was too strange (some said sounded as if singing through a bottle) or that her voice was too harsh and metallic, yet she was a great...because I knew how to sing, and so do I, who doesn't? Christina.
@primohomme of course there's always gonna be people who will criticize even the greatest. And maybe for your pannel of classical self ass-kissers Juan Diego has a small voice, and Maria Callas has a metallic voice. But you know what? Juan Diego has a big voice and Maria Callas had a beautiful voice. Classical people are just always looking for their so-called perfection and constantly comparing singers. That's why none of you are happy with themselves.
@Alberto9871 Come on! Tell me about the mechanism of the voice. Tell me about placement, breath control, breath support, resonance, vocal coordination, vocal registration, vocal color, the muscles involved in singing, laryngeal position. I dare you.
@Chimier you think I don't know about that? I'm sure you and your fanatic friends think you're the only ones who know about the voice. Well that's not true. I know about phonation, pitch, placement, breath control, breath support and all the terms you mentioned.
LOL, no...you are missing the point, the point is that certain things such as beauty of a timbre are ALL opinion, but certain things such as singing in tune and in time, ARE NOT based on opinion, you either are in tune or you are not...and Christina isn't.
LOL, if we go by number of Grammys then Beyonce can sing 4 times better than Christina, and Juanes can sing almost 5 times better than Christina. Take a seat, you aren't making any sense.
@Alberto9871 And no she can't surpass Mariah... Go and listen to Christina's versions of the National Anthem and tell me why a person who fails to sing the line "oh the land of the freeee" everytime can surpass Mariah...
@WestVoice Christina has never had any vocal training. That's why sometimes she commits mistakes when singing. Nevertheless she's truly talented and has an amazing voice. It's curious and funny you mention the national anthem cause Mariah didn't sing a piece of it! it was all pre-recorded. She lipsynched the whole thing!. And you know why? because her voice is ruined, so now she can only do middle notes and low notes. Her whislte has gone to hell because she used and abused it. Period.
@Alberto9871 Uh nope, like I said, if you don't know please don't speak, watch?v=MhI252cw6ic This version is live. The reason why Mariah lipped on Superbowl was because everyone had to, do some research please. Mariah can only do middle notes? Then tell me why Mariah is still belting all those twenty to thirty High E's (E5's) in We Belong Together while Christina is struggles to sing ONLY one E5 in You Lost Me? Her whistle is gone? I guess that's why almost all her live whistles are in tune.
@WestVoice her "live" whistle notes are in tune BECAUSE THEY'RE PRE-RECORDED. And the "cause everyone had to" excuse is just lame. She just can't sing anymore. And the grammy performance of We Belong Together was lipsynched too. Except for Fly Like a Bird which SEEMED live.
@Alberto9871 "BECAUSE THEY'RE PRE-RECORDED" How do you know? Oh, no, you don't. In fact, she has been doing a lot of whistles in her recent interviews, were those lipped too? And LOL Don't you know everyone was forced to lip at the Superbowl?? That's why no one ever sang live at the Superbowl, go do some research. No, We Belong Together at the grammys was not lipped, how can it be lipped when she was losing her breath on the last note hence why it was sustained so short. Please try again.
@WestVoice I don't have to ask or do a research to know that the whistles are pre-recorded. She can no longer do them. Why is it too hard for you to admit it? or even worse accept it? Just because you love her to death, doesn't mean you are gonna overrate her talent. It's like Britney in her younger years. They all called her a singer and an artist when obviously she didn't deserve those titles. Performer, dancer or even good album seller were good for her.
@Alberto9871 No, the fact is that you have no PROOF that the whistles are pre-recorded. I don't love Mariah to death, I love her music, not her, I am arguing with you because you absolutely don't know what you're talking about. So please prove it now that all her whistles are pre-recorded. Let's start with these ones watch?v=R_NyeF2UNuI @ 2:28-2:40, go on, I dare you to tell me how those notes were pre-recorded.
@WestVoice what does a 2006 performance have to do with her voice nowadays (2009-2010). I never said her voice has been ruined from the beginning. What I said is that her voice is now ruined because of her abuse of whistle and her sometimes yelled "belts". In the particular video you sent me she could pull the whistle off. Nevertheless she can no longer do that. And I do know what I'm talking about. I can tell when a not is live or not. If you can't, then that's your problem not mine.
@Alberto9871 O_O As if that make such a difference, 2006 is way after her prime. Anyway, here's one from 2009, watch?v=e_yzTl-hrnQ @ 6:28 and that was in the morning... And here's one from 2010... watch?v=Ze-pRpYQgM0 @ 2:10... I might as well give you more but I don't need to, your statement is dumped.
@WestVoice in the Obsessed video she saved her voice through the whole song for the last whistle notes. You can BARELY hear her, because her voice has lost power and presence. The whistle wasn't that good so I don't see how that proves me wrong. In the Fly Like a Bird video she used a track with the whistle along with her last live whistle notes. You can clearly hear both sounds. That's proof even her knows she might fail the whistle so she uses the track to cover her potential mess.
@Alberto9871 Yes it proves you wrong because you said all her live whistles are pre-recorded LOL! Your statement is dumped regardless of whether Mariah was saving her voice for that note or not. Ummm, nope, you still have no proof that it's lipped. And even if it was, the rest of her whistles in Fly like a bird from this tour are still live watch?v=EElcNnUcfug @ 4:04-4:12. Try again.
@WestVoice look boy...or girl I don't even know what you are. She has lost her voice. Maybe she can do whistle every now and then. But that doesn't mean she can still handle it live. You keep on sending me videos where she obviously hits the whistle notes. But that does not mean she can do it ALL the time. Her voice is not as good as it was once. And that's a fact. You seem to be unable to accept it or even admit it. Just don't try to diminish Christina's talent by making mariah look "better".
@Alberto9871 What do little boys and girls do? They pretend to know about certain topics when they do not, just like you. Like I said, if you don't know then don't speak. AND WHEN WAS THIS ARGUMENT ABOUT WHETHER MARIAH LOST HER VOICE OR NOT? Did I say Mariah can do it all the time? NO. Did I say her voice was as good as the 90s? NO. You are accusing me o
2:00 the first performance she was lip singing so off course she would hit the right note the second one she sang live :(

Your comment makes absolutely no sense
You don't need to sing in the same range as a female
Musical notes are musicla note, a C sounds like a C no matter what octave you sing it in
primohomme 5 months ago
@primohomme ok just wanted some male examples obviously a note is a note and females and males differ in octaves, you need to learn how to be respectful and just answer questions and except that people need different examples and learn differently don't be an asshole I'm asking you nicely.
sonoroustripleh 5 months ago
@sonoroustripleh
My point is that octaves don't make a difference
A C sounds like a C no matter if it's played in the fourth octave or the seventh octave
A musician would be able to hear it's a C.
There's only 12 notes in our scale, you know.

SatchmoSings 3 months ago
@primohomme
Well, would you agree that it might be more difficult for someone new to singing or just music in general to match a melody played in the seventh octave in their own range?
Astariel2525 4 months ago
@Astariel2525
I don't think so, I think if someone can hear well, I mean, not being tone deaf
One should be able to match a C in one's own range no matter what octave the C is played in
Because there's only 12 musical tones in western scale, and only 12, and no matter what octave
So a C sounds like a C doesn't matter if on the 1st or the 12 octave.
primohomme 4 months ago
@primohomme
Astariel2525 4 months ago
@Astariel2525
Perhaps yes, perhaps one has to practice music and educate the ear more
but my point is that humming a melody one heard in a higher octave
is not like an incredible feat, potentially anyone can do it, I think.
primohomme 4 months ago
@primohomme
Astariel2525 4 months ago
@sonoroustripleh
You could try singing in a choir. That's a great way to practice your pitch and aural skills and hear how chords blend together. But you should eventually get used to singing an octave or two up or down from an original pitch. That really works on your ear. Then the next step after that is harmonizing in intervals...

You don't really understand how keys work, do you?

Why? because it is not part of the key signature, even if it's slightly flat or slightly sharp
That's still off key.

@rekupp They definitely do, it's a function of how the sound is generated, not the tonal quality of the end-product. I don't get why so many people think women don't have a falsetto, they need to read up on laryngology.
DannyAK80 7 months ago
Man, it's SO easy to second-guess yourself when listening to pitch. Voices alongside instruments can complicate pitch hearing. That gets into acoustics and such. And a lot of very good musicians go out of tune for technical reasons, not for their ears. A low soft palate, for example, will dampen upper partials, which can make the notes sound flat. Low breath energy will make it hard to stay on top of the pitch. Notice how Taylor swift sings CONSISTENTLY flat in EVERYTHING -- it's technique.

reignraven 1 year ago
@reignraven Yep, and I said that in the video I think :) The difference is that some experience it every 10 second while the ones with better ear & better vocal control don't experience it so much... Especially in music like Opera where being in tune is extremely important.

89Kele 11 months ago 4
@WestVoice "The difference is that some experience it every 10 second while the ones with better ear & better vocal control don't experience it so much"
True. In this video when Regine went flat I think it was caused by the movement of her head which affected the sustained note. And I was impressed. She was able to IMMEDIATELY push it back to the correct pitch. Most singers, even the greatest ones, when they go flat, the are really flat. And considering it's a sustained note, fantastic!
ENGRdeus 11 months ago
@WestVoice more than important, being in tune in opera it's something that is a bit overrated. Besides in music like opera the emotion and passion is very hard to express, specially when those singers are have so much pressure on about the techincal aspects.
Alberto9871 11 months ago
@Alberto9871 It's not hard for them actually, at least for the ones that are actually good, a lot of them are even too confident that they start showing their boobs and jumping around on stage like a kid while holding Eb6s.
WestVoice 11 months ago
@WestVoice well it's clear what your general idea about the pop singers is. I was talking based on facts. You seem to wanna talk bad about them. It's ok, you're free to believe whatever you want. But that doesn't change the truth. Opera singers are always under a lot of pressure.
Alberto9871 11 months ago
@Alberto9871 What's clear? Did I even say anything about pop singers? No... And did I say opera singers are not under a lot of pressure? Once again, no, so how am I refuting your so-called "facts"... Opera singers are under a lot of pressure but that doesn't mean it's hard for them to express -_- In Operas, you have mad scenes and soooo many other emotional scenes and you have to be in character at all times.
WestVoice 11 months ago
@WestVoice ok I missunderstood your comment, I admit it. Not on purpose though. Just don't get so intense because it's not necessary.

WestVoice 11 months ago
@WestVoice you know what? since you're one uploading the videos and apparently know about singing, I'd like to ask you something. What is the proper way to find your mix voice? what's the difference between pop, broadway and operatic singers? what about belting? I'd really like to know about that. Thanks.
Alberto9871 11 months ago
@Alberto9871 One way is that you start in a light head voice at a note, you repeat that note, adding more solidity to it each time. In opera, they need to project over an orchestra without a microphone so the throat really needs to be opened + the sound has to be focused/covered. In pop, with microphone technology, their placement & openness of the throat are closer to natural speech. But still, the technique should be at least half-decent to achieve vocal control.
WestVoice 11 months ago
What was the verdict on Michael Sweet? I'd say slightly flat, but since all I listen to is metal I'm not sure. Would you please listen to a singer named Michael Kiske for me and explain to me what you think he technique is like? He's HIGHLY regarded in the metal world. I have my own opinion (which I received a lot of flak for), but I'd like to hear yours.

Period.
Alberto9871 1 year ago
@Alberto9871 No. In the video, I said even the greatest singers had their FEW off-key moments (which means not so many). The same can't be said for Christina since she has many off-key moments.
WestVoice 1 year ago
@WestVoice Christina doesn't have that many off-key moments. And if she had them it would be because she just doesn't care abuot doing it "perfectly" she sings her heart out when live. Besides if Mariah's "technique" is so "good" then WHY has she lost her voice huh? why did she TOTALLY sucked at Michael Jackson's memorial? and don't tell me the lame "I felt touched, didn't know his body was gonna be in front of me" excuse, cause that's just bs, and you know it.
Alberto9871 1 year ago
@Alberto9871 Yes, she does have MANY off-key moments, every performance, you don't know it because you thought they were in tune. Mariah lost her voice because she suffered from vocal nodules, something she developed since she was a little child and she refused to take surgery to heal her voice LOL! Go figure.
WestVoice 1 year ago
@WestVoice I have a very good ear and pitch so I can tell when a singer goes off-key. You may think you're the only one who can do it but you're not. If you didn't know, vocal nodules are caused by strenuous or abusive use of the voice. That means when she was a little child she got them for using an incorrect technique. Which means she DOESN'T have a good technique. Which means she also has many off-key moments. The reason we don't get to hear them is because she LIPSYNCHS whenever she can.
Alberto9871 1 year ago
@Alberto9871 If you have a good ear then I assume you would know how many times Christina went off-key in her 2007 grammy performance. LMAO, even if Mariah's technique was bad when she was a kid, that has nothing to do with her technique she used after puberty. You do know right that vocal techniques can be learned really fast and when I say great singers have few off-key moments, I do not actually include moments where they were screaming in their shower 30 years ago when they were 8 years old?
WestVoice 1 year ago
@WestVoice Well then you would know how many times Mariah has screamed, gone off-key and lipsynched through all this years. Now she is forced to lipsynch all the time so she can "pull off" a performance. The Mariah that had a good technique was the one who had an MTV Unplugged. After that she became obsessed with the whistle and the breathy tone she uses til boredom. Her voice sounds strained and has no volume. I know you love her, but PLEASE don't overrate her talent.
Alberto9871 1 year ago
@Alberto9871 No, she is not lipsyncing all the time. Have you watch her latest performances? I bet not. Have you seen her last tour? I bet not so don't speak. Consider her vocal condition, Mariah's technique is fine now, in fact she has actually belted notes from E5-G#5 in recent years and NEVER did she CRACK on those notes. Last year, she was sustaining C6s in full head voice, you might as well check it out cuz Christina has no volume in her head voice at all.
WestVoice 1 year ago
@WestVoice Christina does have volume in her head voice. She just hasn't focused on developing a super head voice like other singers (and I'm NOT referring to Mariah). She doesn't need a huge volumen on her head voice, because her chest voice is amazing. She can easily surpass Mariah in a live performance. Mariah's voice doesn't have volume at all. Her voice DOES NOT have the same weight as Christina's or Whitney's. And that's a fact. You can't deny it...unless you're deaf.
Alberto9871 1 year ago
@Alberto9871 No, she doesn't have a great chest voice. Whitney can sustain and hit notes with ease while Christina cracks on a simple C5 (a middle note O_O)... Christina's voice is thin as hell, go and listen to all her Candy man notes, they are so thin because her vocal chords are squeezed to the maximum... Now compare that Mariah's E5 belt in It's it's over
WestVoice 1 year ago
@WestVoice *If it's over
WestVoice 1 year ago
@WestVoice Christina belts amazingly, she has a strong, powerful voice. Unlike Mariah whose voice is thin as hell, her voice really is thin. Being a black woman she doesn't have the weight that Beyonce or Jennifer Hudson have.
Alberto9871 1 year ago
@Alberto9871
LOL, Christina doesn't belt, she SCREAMS. A true large voice does not need to scream in order to project, Christina's voice loses color and resonance as she gets loud, that shows that is not singing but screaming.
primohomme 1 year ago
@primohomme hahaha well that's up to her buddy. At least she doesn't sound like a tranvestite version of Cher. You may be in tune, and "belt" properly but I've got news for you: your voice HAS NO COMMERCIAL APPEAL. You'll never sound as great as Juan Diego Florez (my fellow peruvian) or as beautiful as Maria Callas who I know you adore. And you know why? because your voice is just a bit freaky. Deal with it.
Alberto9871 1 year ago
@Alberto9871
Christina.
primohomme 1 year ago
@primohomme of course there's always gonna be people who will criticize even the greatest. And maybe for your pannel of classical self ass-kissers Juan Diego has a small voice, and Maria Callas has a metallic voice. But you know what? Juan Diego has a big voice and Maria Callas had a beautiful voice. Classical people are just always looking for their so-called perfection and constantly comparing singers. That's why none of you are happy with themselves.

@Alberto9871 And no she can't surpass Mariah... Go and listen to Christina's versions of the National Anthem and tell me why a person who fails to sing the line "oh the land of the freeee" everytime can surpass Mariah...
WestVoice 1 year ago
@WestVoice Christina has never had any vocal training. That's why sometimes she commits mistakes when singing. Nevertheless she's truly talented and has an amazing voice. It's curious and funny you mention the national anthem cause Mariah didn't sing a piece of it! it was all pre-recorded. She lipsynched the whole thing!. And you know why? because her voice is ruined, so now she can only do middle notes and low notes. Her whislte has gone to hell because she used and abused it. Period.
Alberto9871 1 year ago
@Alberto9871 Uh nope, like I said, if you don't know please don't speak, watch?v=MhI252cw6ic This version is live. The reason why Mariah lipped on Superbowl was because everyone had to, do some research please. Mariah can only do middle notes? Then tell me why Mariah is still belting all those twenty to thirty High E's (E5's) in We Belong Together while Christina is struggles to sing ONLY one E5 in You Lost Me? Her whistle is gone? I guess that's why almost all her live whistles are in tune.
WestVoice 1 year ago
@WestVoice her "live" whistle notes are in tune BECAUSE THEY'RE PRE-RECORDED. And the "cause everyone had to" excuse is just lame. She just can't sing anymore. And the grammy performance of We Belong Together was lipsynched too. Except for Fly Like a Bird which SEEMED live.
Alberto9871 1 year ago
@Alberto9871 "BECAUSE THEY'RE PRE-RECORDED" How do you know? Oh, no, you don't. In fact, she has been doing a lot of whistles in her recent interviews, were those lipped too? And LOL Don't you know everyone was forced to lip at the Superbowl?? That's why no one ever sang live at the Superbowl, go do some research. No, We Belong Together at the grammys was not lipped, how can it be lipped when she was losing her breath on the last note hence why it was sustained so short. Please try again.
WestVoice 1 year ago
@WestVoice I don't have to ask or do a research to know that the whistles are pre-recorded. She can no longer do them. Why is it too hard for you to admit it? or even worse accept it? Just because you love her to death, doesn't mean you are gonna overrate her talent. It's like Britney in her younger years. They all called her a singer and an artist when obviously she didn't deserve those titles. Performer, dancer or even good album seller were good for her.
Alberto9871 1 year ago
@Alberto9871 No, the fact is that you have no PROOF that the whistles are pre-recorded. I don't love Mariah to death, I love her music, not her, I am arguing with you because you absolutely don't know what you're talking about. So please prove it now that all her whistles are pre-recorded. Let's start with these ones watch?v=R_NyeF2UNuI @ 2:28-2:40, go on, I dare you to tell me how those notes were pre-recorded.
WestVoice 1 year ago
@WestVoice what does a 2006 performance have to do with her voice nowadays (2009-2010). I never said her voice has been ruined from the beginning. What I said is that her voice is now ruined because of her abuse of whistle and her sometimes yelled "belts". In the particular video you sent me she could pull the whistle off. Nevertheless she can no longer do that. And I do know what I'm talking about. I can tell when a not is live or not. If you can't, then that's your problem not mine.
Alberto9871 1 year ago
@Alberto9871 *I can tell when a note is live or not.
