Are they really making the movie? That would be great. But I hope not yet. Well, even if they do. I still need to finish the series first. I started in high school. I've read four so far, ever now and then, summer, free times, when ever I can. I love it. It's great thriller. It's deep. It's realistic. I don't know if it'll be as good as the book but I'd be happy to see the movie!
this movie is quite realistic, the directors came to my school today to talk to us, and he mentioned that he had talked to Australian defence force and found out how easy it was for countries around Australia to invade Australia, such as Indonesia, China, Japan etc. Australia is basically a giant land with very little people to defend it, also isolated from its main allies...
this isn't the real one. search 'tomorrow when the war began full length trailer'. much much mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh better.
I read all these books and they were AWESOME best books ive ever read. From the trailer it doesnt look like the movie's and TV series will disappoint. Hopefully this will become one of the great aussie movies like mad max. Hopefully lol
even though im not a fan of reading alot of books lol :DD but this was a book that i really liked and i cant wait for the movie to come out......and love this trailer
wow this is like my favourite fan trailer ever im not usually a fan but this one really is good XD. i guess the actors will look more country liek in the movie..??
i better be =.= i love the books and just finish reading them again for the movie in september XD
this is a really great trailer, most fan made ones suck balls, with shit filming, bad editing and really bad acting. but yours is awesome, it looks professional. you should go into the industry, you really have the talent.
this is an awesome trailer...its really believable. most fan made trailers suck balls, with crappy filming, poorly editing and very bad acting. but yours is really professional. you should think about going into the film industry..
this is incredible. it always astounds me how individuals can make such good trailers just how i pictured it and then the movie directors get it so wrong. well done!
It is a great book. It's not so much meant for people with short attention spans, cuz it takes a long time before anything really exciting happens. I tried reading it when I was eleven and couldn't find the story interesting. Then I read it after I turned thirteen and got hooked and now I own the entire series and the trilogy after it.
It's not as much of an action book as it's made out to be, but there is alot of action later in it.
This is an awsome trailer .. cannot WAIT for the movie.. one of my most favourite books!! Dont really understand all this talk of the realistc-ness of australia being invaded ... thats the beauty of books and films .. dont have to be realistic!!
@oooKEZDAWGooo u kno we werent only bombed in sydney and darwin, broome, exmouth and a couple of other places were too. i used to live in exmouth and there are bomb craters down near the old whaling building.

Hey Cadyrnable, sorry :) i posted my comment at 2am. WHY WASNT I ASLEEP. i guess its hard to tell when its just in text, but yer i totally second that. Also as part of the commonwealth England & Canada would help too, as well as some Pacific countries. And about the supply line, yer they would need a pretty big one and we could easily destroy it, and lastly you have forgotten that most of your country is desert. PEACE
No problem. Sometimes my sarcasm isn't exactly the best written, anyway. And thanks for the reminded about our lack of water. That would definitely present a problem to any invader
We don't have a big military, if the enemy planed well or got heaps of back up they could bomb the hell out of everything like bases OK.
It would take America weeks to get here & it would be too late.
besides us Australians would have little resistance, that resistance would be some military, cops...pretty much any gun owner would have a bit more of a better chance.
It's more than that. For any country other than Indonesia to launch an attack on Australia, they would need a very large supply line. It would be impossible even for China to keep such a thing secret, so we would have advanced warning, and the Americans would probably come or be ready to arrive in Australia within thirty hours or so of the initial invasion. They would probably be able to get troops here that fast anyway, even if they weren't full prepared, anyway.
Within several days, America would have flown dozens of jets, tanks, tens of thousands of troops and several thousand tonnes of supplies here. Never, ever, underestimate the logistical side of the American army. It's probably the most efficient and expedient in the world.
Secondly, don't discount our own army. Sure, the AuSteyrs are inaccurate pieces of crap, but Australian soldiers are some of the best trained soldiers in the world and, besides. Australians are bloody stubborn soldiers.
No, the most efficient army is China's, and i think it would just be like it is in the book, America not risking there own little asses to save a few aussies, trust me now our biggest backer's would be NZ and UK
I would ahve to disagree. The largest army is most definitely that of the Chinese, but size also gives rise to problems. Even so, it could still probably give America's a run for its money.
NZ would try to help us but fail, they have bugger all in the way of a defence force, and the UK will probably say "screw that", like they did during WWII. Besides that, there would be too much pressure on America to do something that they would have to do something, or lose a large amount of their standing
'size gives rise to problems', no. China is a very old and large civilisation, life revolves around their army, you can bet on it tat they're very efficient. and anyway new zealand's isaland would be very important depending on the invader(s) as they would be the closest route to australia. also new zealand would enlist many to fight for their biggest allie and even with a small population a army of hundreds of thousands would never be turned away. Also UK would be obligated as they could be next
Right. A country that's about twenty hours away by jet would be next. That aside, of the major powers in the world, only America has any sort of official defence treaty with Australia (ANZUS).
New Zealand would indeed be in a very important position and hence they would have to focus more on defending themselves than defending Oz. Besides that, in today's world, the number of soldiers you have is less important than the tanks, planes, ships, missiles, etc that you have. Ergo, NZ would not be
be capable of putting up a serious fight, not having such resources. Even with America's help, I doubt that they could equip hundreds of thousands of soldiers within a time frame that would actually help Australia.
Basically, if NZ was going to be any help, they would help by serving as a launching pad for US forces.
in the world. If that happened, Russia or the EU would probably step up to fill the gap. No matter what, Australia would most likely have either a very large country on our side or a very large coalition of countries on our side.
the 'United Nations' dos'nt imediatly have an army(s) on your side if you are apart of it, what do you mean Russia... for or against. theres no way in hell russia would help any other country. especially 'Australia because they would'nt have anything to gain but if Australia fell to another Russia would become that much 'stronger
Where did the UN come from? True, they would play a part in the war in terms of organising economic sanctions and allowing other countries to legally defend Australia, but I didn't even bring them into the argument.
My argument is that, if America did not help Australia, another major power would. In this scenario, Russia would have every reason to help Australia. It would make them look good in the eyes of the world, while America looks bad, and they could build very strong ties with Australia
, allowing them more access to our natural resources, so that they don't have to use theirs.
In addition, if the attacker was China or at least allied partially with China, Russia would have many more reasons to help, not entirely being friend with China.
I also fail to see why Russia would become stronger if they sat on their arses and watched Australia fall to an invader. Would you care to elaborate on that point?
China could'nt invade as they'd risk the chance of Japan taking over, its peace now but if china wanted Australia then Japan would have to ensure they were'nt next.
and it was'nt always the soviet Union, Australia and US vs Germany Japan and that. especially with as of late with russia not compling with Us policys, just makes you think that Russia in it for themselfs, therefore if Russia stayed out of it and australia was overtaken that is one less country to compete with
Japan wouldn't pose much of a threat to China. It is not nuclear capable and, even if China didn't want to nuke Japan, a low altitude nuclear explosion would release an EMP capable of frying all the electronics in Japan, effectively neutralising their military and economic capabilities. All China would have to do is to leave Japan then for a few weeks and Japan would be begging for China to invade, especially if China kept aid ships away.
Actually, you can. A reasonably low altitude airburst would not produce any physical harm to the people or the buildings of either nation, should some of the EMP actually hit China.
Of the countries in Asia, only Russia and China have serious nuclear capabilities. North Korea might be able to take out a small city, but their nation would then be wiped off the map.
Russia, on the other hand, has the countermeasures and nuclear weapons to pose a serious threat to China, while being relatively
I also understand the whole concept of the Cold War, but you should also probably realise that it's over and therefore Russia would have no ideological problems with aiding Australia in the event of an invasion.
The fact that Russia is going against US policy also counts in favour of the theory that they would help Australia if we were invaded. Not only would it advance them politically, most likely becoming new world leaders, but also militarily, making it appear that they are the new military
if China were to invade australia would need the rest of the UN's help not just russia, remember they have a population larger that 1 billion and most of there people enrole in their army(s), i suppose the population overload would be a reason to invade a country that is so spacious. Therefore it is more likling that if chia were invading russia would protect their own country when it has only 1 10th to the army that china has,
Russia has just over half the military personnel of China and a population that is approximately 1/10th of China, but they have a far larger landmass and smaller cities, plus 5000 more operational nuclear warheads than China.
Given all that, I cannot see why Russia would feel threatened by China. That, coupled with the political and economic benefits of aiding Australia, would be more than enough for Russia to aid Australia if the United States failed to do so.
superpower, even though they are not. Remember, appearances are one of the most important things in politics.
Finally, if we're going by past history, then we can deduce several things.
1) Indonesia will be the invaders. We have an antagonistic relationship with them and, even though the leaders of our two countries are trying for peace, the population of both countries, but particularly Indonesia isn't being very receptive that that process.
countries will come to our aid. We have come their aid in the past, even when it wasn't required, and they have always honoured defence treaties. Not only that, but America in particular has a history of helping to defend Australia.
Finally, we must consider the fate of every army ever to enter a foreign country that has extreme weather very different to our own. For example, just about everyone who has invaded Russia has been stopped by the extreme cold of their winter. Likewise, any invader
We never had to help anyone else. In ever single war, we volunteered to go. We have helped so many countries and helped keep the peace so many times that every major nation on Earth would feel an obligation to help us.
Besides that, we are a major producer of just about all natural resources, including uranium. The disruption to world supplies, coupled with the enemy's access to massive uranium deposits, would ensure that, even if they didn't owe us anything, other countries would still help us
must contend with our extremely hot summers and scare water. I live near a small city with only two months worth of water left in their water supply, so trust me when I say that the lack of water would definitely hurt an invading army, especially since they will most likely have knocked out the power grid, or at least parts of it, essentially taking out many water supplies around the country.
Besides that, could you imagine the invading army taking over WA, which would be one their main
targets, due to the number and type of mines there.
In summary, China still remains a potential invader, as does Indonesia, Russia is still a potential ally if America does not come through with the goods, and America would almost definitely help Australia directly, by sending troops as well as weapons, planes, etc.
Now, if Indonesia were the enemy, that raises a whole different issue. They have a crap Navy, non-existent airforce, crap tanks and lots and lots of cannon fodder. In short, they couldn't bomb the hell out of our bases at Darwin or Townsville.
also @cadeyrnable its called FICTION, i really hate it when hardcore loser com along and just ruin the fantasy. Also we are so closley connected to America becuase in WW2 we ditched England's forces when we were forgotten and we needed help with the japs. . so we are like BFFL's , hehe ,but seriously, maybe you should listen to the interview with John Marsden on Q&A and get the hell over yourself.
Yeah, your sarcasm meter is completely broken. My point was that, for all the reasons that you've listed, TWTWB is not, and again I'll stress the not, a rip off of Red Dawn.
I also realise that it is fiction but, hey, what I've said is true. It would be bloody hard to attack Australia and not have America come down on you like a ton of bricks, but that doesn't mean that it couldn't be done. I've already thought of a couple of ways that it could be done.
Well, the method of invasion is never mentioned, leaving one less plot hole, the enemy is actually competent (for example, in TWTWB they couldn't just walk up to the prison camp and talk to whoever).
In addition, the potential for civilian casualties puts a limit on what the TWTWB characters, they never kill a fellow team member and more of them survive than die (Only Robyn and Corrie die, from memory).
There also isn't that "This is Sparta" kind of nationalistic bullshit. It was far more
hey first this is really really good. it gave me goose pimples. as do most trailers, haha yer im weird
and second, the cast looks terrible. the girl playing corrie is looks like her but the others look to superficial, not country
my roots are country and they look nothing like them, they should have tryed to get upcoming australian actors to do it, like people not from crappy TV shows.
Yep, it's a total rip off. almost all the main characters die in TWTWB, it's full of patriotic bullshit, the enemy is incompetent, etc. Oh yeah, and TWTWB has a clearly identified enemy and carries racist connotations about them.
Also, it would be bloody hard for any country to invade Australia. We're just too big, with too much space. Also, we are basically the 51st state of America, so America would come down on the enemy like a ton of bricks.
@ZombieBlaster Red Dawn is like the breakfast club meets saving private ryan. seriously doesnt work out. but theyre making a remake so it would be good to see if they can pull it off
nah, i remember a story about one of the first maori squads that were surrounded with practically no ammo out numbered by thousands by germans or something, and, with only a few platoons of britain soldiers and new zealand just started a ferocious haka that scared the enemys into giving up their weapons, this being before that haka was kown of alot less that it is now
i imagined homer as tall and wide, but they made him a little evenly built guy, and not to mention i expected lee to be WAY HOTTER...
i could pick a better cast than the professionals! no matter how good they are at acting, they do need the intial thought of, 'oh, thats definitely ellie' or, 'thats definitely kevin' or whatever..
lol if only! By "made" I mean edited - I compiled the footage from various sources, added effects and music (not my own), to create a cohesive 'trailer'. :)
That is awesome. Just studied that book in English and then read the next two i n two days. :( Now I have to wait another week before I can borrow the rest
actually yes it is. They are filming in september and october in the hunter valley. and then a few more months in sydney fox studios. I got choosen to be an extra the other day. XD i'm excited
Good Job. If its your own interpretation its a pretty good effort, a few things happening in there that arent in the series, but good job non the less.
I finished the books including ellie chroniclesin only three 3, they were that good. i cant wait for the movies to come out. does anyone no were there holding auditions. i know the parts of Robyn and Chris are the only spots left. Does anyone no how i can contact them.
Anyway this is the best trailer i have seen. serously ive seen all of them on utube and this is the best one out of all of them. i know one part is from twilight.where did u get all the other footage? Is some from kakoda?

Actually, you can. A reasonably low altitude airburst would not produce any physical harm to the people or the buildings of either nation, should some of the EMP actually hit China.
Of the countries in Asia, only Russia and China have serious nuclear capabilities. North Korea might be able to take out a small city, but their nation would then be wiped off the map.
Russia, on the other hand, has the countermeasures and nuclear weapons to pose a serious threat to China, while being relatively

safe.
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
I also understand the whole concept of the Cold War, but you should also probably realise that it's over and therefore Russia would have no ideological problems with aiding Australia in the event of an invasion.
The fact that Russia is going against US policy also counts in favour of the theory that they would help Australia if we were invaded. Not only would it advance them politically, most likely becoming new world leaders, but also militarily, making it appear that they are the new military
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
if China were to invade australia would need the rest of the UN's help not just russia, remember they have a population larger that 1 billion and most of there people enrole in their army(s), i suppose the population overload would be a reason to invade a country that is so spacious. Therefore it is more likling that if chia were invading russia would protect their own country when it has only 1 10th to the army that china has,
dot2dot67 2 years ago
Russia has just over half the military personnel of China and a population that is approximately 1/10th of China, but they have a far larger landmass and smaller cities, plus 5000 more operational nuclear warheads than China.
Given all that, I cannot see why Russia would feel threatened by China. That, coupled with the political and economic benefits of aiding Australia, would be more than enough for Russia to aid Australia if the United States failed to do so.
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
superpower, even though they are not.
2) America, Britain and probably a dozen more
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
countries will come to our aid.
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
We went to their aid because we a week country, we are not within continent we are an alone country which has forced us to go to others.
dot2dot67 2 years ago
We never had to help anyone else. In ever single war, we volunteered to go. We have helped so many countries and helped keep the peace so many times that every major nation on Earth would feel an obligation to help us.
Besides that, we are a major producer of just about all natural resources, including uranium. The disruption to world supplies, coupled with the enemy's access to massive uranium deposits, would ensure that, even if they didn't owe us anything, other countries would still help us
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
must contend with our extremely hot summers and scare water. I live near a small city with only two months worth of water left in their water supply, so trust me when I say that the lack of water would definitely hurt an invading army, especially since they will most likely have knocked out the power grid, or at least parts of it, essentially taking out many water supplies around the country.
Besides that, could you imagine the invading army taking over WA, which would be one their main

its called adaptation

It's called loosing enough men that staying becomes viable.
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
Sorry, I meant to say that it became non-viable.
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
targets, due to the number and type of mines there.
In summary, China still remains a potential invader, as does Indonesia, Russia is still a potential ally if America does not come through with the goods, and America would almost definitely help Australia directly, by sending troops as well as weapons, planes, etc.
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
Now, if Indonesia were the enemy, that raises a whole different issue. They have a crap Navy, non-existent airforce, crap tanks and lots and lots of cannon fodder. In short, they couldn't bomb the hell out of our bases at Darwin or Townsville.
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
true, but they have the biggest muslim population
dot2dot67 2 years ago
also @cadeyrnable its called FICTION, i really hate it when hardcore loser com along and just ruin the fantasy. Also we are so closley connected to America becuase in WW2 we ditched England's forces when we were forgotten and we needed help with the japs. . so we are like BFFL's , hehe ,but seriously, maybe you should listen to the interview with John Marsden on Q&A and get the hell over yourself.
ohkay ill stop whining now
Peace

Yeah, your sarcasm meter is completely broken. My point was that, for all the reasons that you've listed, TWTWB is not, and again I'll stress the not, a rip off of Red Dawn.
I also realise that it is fiction but, hey, what I've said is true. It would be bloody hard to attack Australia and not have America come down on you like a ton of bricks, but that doesn't mean that it couldn't be done. I've already thought of a couple of ways that it could be done.
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
Explain how TWTWB is different to RD
ZombieBlaster 2 years ago
Well, the method of invasion is never mentioned, leaving one less plot hole, the enemy is actually competent (for example, in TWTWB they couldn't just walk up to the prison camp and talk to whoever).
In addition, the potential for civilian casualties puts a limit on what the TWTWB characters, they never kill a fellow team member and more of them survive than die (Only Robyn and Corrie die, from memory).
There also isn't that "This is Sparta" kind of nationalistic bullshit. It was far more
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
Intellectual. Is that different enough for you?
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
hey first this is really really good. it gave me goose pimples. as do most trailers, haha yer im weird
and second, the cast looks terrible. the girl playing corrie is looks like her but the others look to superficial, not country
my roots are country and they look nothing like them, they should have tryed to get upcoming australian actors to do it, like people not from crappy TV shows.
DressedInGrace 2 years ago 4
I completely agree with you about the cast being people from crappy tv shows. but i guess we're just gonna have to live with it lol.

Umm It's a fan based tralier not the real one...
I've met John Marsden and he is a great authour and inspiring speaker, I'm looking foward to the movie!
trademestuff 1 year ago
Yep, it's a total rip off. almost all the main characters die in TWTWB, it's full of patriotic bullshit, the enemy is incompetent, etc. Oh yeah, and TWTWB has a clearly identified enemy and carries racist connotations about them.
Also, it would be bloody hard for any country to invade Australia. We're just too big, with too much space. Also, we are basically the 51st state of America, so America would come down on the enemy like a ton of bricks.
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
To the people who have voted my comment down: you should really get your sarcasm meters fixed.
Cadeyrnable 2 years ago
i like these books if you dont like them then dont watch this cause lots of people do like these books
LilMissPixiePie 2 years ago
I for 1 am not dissing the books, I'm simply trying to tell people that Australia can be invaded easily by another country.
Remember Red Dawn came out in 1984.
This is a really good fan made trailer.
I will probably see this when it comes out.
ZombieBlaster 2 years ago
no if you like the books and want the movies then stop telling people not to watch the movies or there'll be no more!!!!lol
dot2dot67 2 years ago
It's a rip-off trust me
ZombieBlaster 2 years ago
@ZombieBlaster Red Dawn is like the breakfast club meets saving private ryan. seriously doesnt work out. but theyre making a remake so it would be good to see if they can pull it off
wrmmw 2 years ago
I have high hopes for the remake & remember RD came out in the eighties :)
ZombieBlaster 2 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
By the way, TWTWB is a complete rip-off of the American movie call RED DAWN that came out in 1984
ZombieBlaster 2 years ago
Oh yes and Australia can be invaded easily
ZombieBlaster 2 years ago
China will be the strongest country in the world by 2020..so I guess we better prepare for the invasion
ZombieBlaster 2 years ago
2 Thumbs down ey, I guess the truth hurts :)
ZombieBlaster 2 years ago
This is really good hope the movie is as good as this trailer lol
ijksndnds 2 years ago
We would be easy as fuck to invade, we have don't have a big enough army to defend us & on top of that we have shit laws for gun owners.
ZombieBlaster 2 years ago
@ZombieBlaster We will help you! Big old New Zealand has a huge army :S
ttmkh 2 years ago
lol, yeah you'll send us your great 'maori' warrior platoon's, this aint sacarsm its what i believe
dot2dot67 2 years ago
Hmm are you ripping us out?
ttmkh 2 years ago
nah, i remember a story about one of the first maori squads that were surrounded with practically no ammo out numbered by thousands by germans or something, and, with only a few platoons of britain soldiers and new zealand just started a ferocious haka that scared the enemys into giving up their weapons, this being before that haka was kown of alot less that it is now
dot2dot67 2 years ago
Wow! Amazing lol. I didn't even know that :)
ttmkh 2 years ago
if only the movie would actually look like that!!! the set cast for the movie looks terrible to me :'[
ally0400228801 2 years ago
True, i imagined it to be more...old school mixed with new school. But yet, i am Canadian so i do not know exactly how life is in Australia.
ice1god 2 years ago
yeah, so you have read the book??? hmm i don't know, the movie is gonna be strange
ally0400228801 2 years ago
yes, it seems. And yes i did read all the books (even the Ellie Chronicles)
ice1god 2 years ago
@ally0400228801
i know!!!!
the only one i rekon was ok is corrie,
but the others arent real enough.
i imagined homer as tall and wide, but they made him a little evenly built guy, and not to mention i expected lee to be WAY HOTTER...
i could pick a better cast than the professionals! no matter how good they are at acting, they do need the intial thought of, 'oh, thats definitely ellie' or, 'thats definitely kevin' or whatever..
ok, ive finished my whinge :P
ThatAusGirl 2 years ago 4
@ThatAusGirl Yea lee sucks :(
All the cast could hav been chosen better...also they dont look very 'country'..especially ellie who i imagined would b the most
