The point the scripture folks were making is that they didn't want one gender to pretend to be the other in order to be Temple prostitutes. Our clothes have certainaly evolved. Men have pants, women have pants, but they are still somewhat distinguishable.
This guy has the right idea, but lacks understanding of where the people are coming from. Yes, men and women both wore robes, caftans, skirts, tunics, etc..., but they were saying they wanted men to wear men's tunics, and women to wear women's tunics and so forth. It was in part to prevent one gender from pretending to be the other to be temple prostitutes.
