Benicio is my favourite actor of all time....nr.1.And I hate admitting that this is one of his less great performances. Too many weird facial expressions.But Friedkin is the one to blame for The hunted being a decent movie instead of great.Casting Jones,who only can portray Jones and has hunted a bit too much(The fugitive,U.S.Marshals,Double Jeopardy and then this.)was a big mistake.

Unbelievable Close combat fighting scene ! Always amazed about the search for lethal efficiency : short blows targeting fragile + vital spots, surprise strike with 1 hand-weapon, focus on disarm at close range ...

Nothing to do with "wu xia" films ; note how the fighters are constantly looking for unbalance the ennemy + pick up weapons if possible

=> no kicks, no risks VS opponent with weapon, the ground fight becoming constant danger each time. Finally note dreadful bones breakers + locks.

Tom Brown Jr was SHOT in the back while tracking the actual fugitive portrayed by benicio ... he still managed to "unleash the animal within" and bring down the murderer... alot of people dont know this movie is based on actual events in the life of Tracker Tom Brown jr who has pulled around 700 bodies out of the woods, dead or alive, missing, fugitives, children... lost people... he started tracking with the state police at age 15

"weird as hell" is about right... but in many years of enjoying his books and stories, i have never been able to prove the man wrong... he is an amazing person. "case files of the tracker" will get the story right that this hollywood depiction screwed up...
