The best design put on rails. In Queensland they were phased out in the late 1970's now we can only enjoy one at the railway museum in Ipswich. We called them the 1200 class. So advanced for their time and its great to still see them in service.
Thanks for the comment. That exact lashup used to run every day without fail for about 3 to 4 months at the start of 2004. Occasionally, gunzel drivers would forget to run the A around and drive the S at night.
Can anyone tell me why the "S" class leading is banned?

Mainly noisy and unsafe conditions for drivers to work in at the time. This was 6 years ago, however with other operators now, things have relaxed.

I was also aware that the S class leading was banned but some gunzel drivers drove them anyway. great work i recon, pitty it was at night though.
